With the way Pulisic has played, I'm curious when offers might start coming in to Milan from other clubs eager to negotiate a transfer.

@@chrishenderson1262 as much as I love Puli and hope he does well, he is significantly overperforming his underlying xg+xa, while Thuram is not. It would be surprising to see Puli replicate this season’s performance based on the data, though I think he brings enough intangibles that the data overlook to do it

All fair points. But it's hard to knock Puli on goal contributions in comparison to a striker ykwim? Like a 9 is expected to be the most involved in the penalty area

I do wonder though if one player overperforms xg+xa (especially the xg part) while another underperforms in that metric, maybe it demonstrates something about their comparative finishing ability and/or vision. The metrics for xg (and by extension xa) don't change based on who is taking the shot: - Distance to the goal. - Angle to the goal​. - Goalkeeper position, giving us information on the likelihood that they’re able to make a save. - The clarity the shooter has of the goal mouth, based on the positions of other players. - The amount of pressure they are under from the opposition defenders. - Shot type, such as which foot the shooter used or whether it was a volley/header/one-on-one. - Pattern of play (e.g., open play, fast break, direct free-kick, corner kick, throw-in etc.). Information on the previous action, such as the type of assist (e.g., through ball, cross etc.). In a extreme example, Messi shooting from 20 yards, a little off center, with the GK and defense in decent position would have the same xg as an average left-footed MLS player taking the same shot. If I think back to Pulisic's goals from this season, at least a few of them have been very nice finishes from either just inside the 18 or even outside the box. Could be that he's demonstrating a pattern of scoring from more difficult positions than Thuram, but nonetheless doing it with a fair amount of reliability.

If puli goes back to the premier league, I'll still follow Milan. If puli does go back to EPL, I want him to go to some mid table team like fulham (but not fulham) and become a legend there like Dempsey did at fulham

Rangers have 2 more domestic league matches remaining against Dundee and Ross County. Celtic have only 1 match remaining against St. Mirren. Unless there's a huge upset in either of Rangers' last 2 matches, they will win the league.

@@Johnnybgood76 You're probably not aware of the Split. After those matches that you mentioned, the SPL splits into a Top 6 and Bottom 6. After the Split, the teams in each section all play each other. Celtic and Rangers will both be in the Top 6. They will play each other, and the other four teams in the Top 6. So, they will have five more games than what you're thinking, including a final match against each other. That final match will be at Celtic Park.

Turner is not a Premiere League level keeper - possibly a Championship level keeper. He's be better off if he can get any offers from Eredivisie or MLS.

Pulisic can be a free roaming CAM that overlaps with wingers. He can make the opposition second guess how Pulisic is gonna cross.

I'm not a fan of Jesse Marsch's tactics but Leeds were playing like a mid table club just not getting the requisite results before he was sacked. After he was gone, they completely fell apart. They should have removed him BEFORE the World Cup break OR backed him until the end of the season regardless. They did neither. Aaronson wasn't ready for the Premier League and Leeds grossly overpaid for him which is as much on their recruiting department as on the player himself. McKennie would have been better in Marsch's system than the managers who came after him. They tried to use him in a more defensive role after Adams went down with injury which is not McKennie's strength imo. In general, their defense was awful and certainly not the direct fault of McKennie.

@@Johnnybgood76 Even if all those things are true and I generally agree with them except that Leeds were not midtable, (they were 17th and tied for 18th, they had like 8 wins all season - coaches are paid for results, not stats) that doesn't change the fact that Marsch was poor, Aaronson got battered (he was brought in by Marsch/Orta), and McKennie was not fit and didn't play that well. It kinda seems like you're disagreeing with me? Even if there's reasons for failure, you still failed. And they also jumped ship, which may have been best for them, but doesn't sit well with club fans for perfectly good reasons. My point is that there is not a good reason to hate on Leeds United just because the Americans didn't have a good run there.

@@isaachenry5692 You could pretty much have substituted any 3 teams from 11th through 20th last season for the 3 that were ultimately relegated, that's how close all those teams were in form. That's what I meant by playing like a mid table team. If Adams hadn't been hurt when he was, I'm convinced that under Marsch, they would have won at least 2 more matches than they ultimately did and been safe. I also know that McKennie would have adapted better and been more effective alongside Adams than Roca. Above all, it made no sense for the LUFC hierarchy to make a show of backing Marsch with mid season transfers then immediately reverse course after 1 game post WC restart. That's not "backing a manager".

The gap is not big. The reason reason why two Premier League teams survived in the champions league this year because they were given easy teams in the round of 16 while three Serie A clubs were given Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid. Inter Milan completely choked just like they choked against Manchester City (freak’en Lukaku). AC Milan also choked in the group stage when they tie their first two matches despite dominating. The only reason why the two remaining Premier League teams faired better in the round of 16 because they both drew against the last remaining weak teams, Porto (Arsenal) and Copenhagen (Manchester City). Serie A’s three teams drew Atletico Madrid (Inter Milan), Barcelona (Napoli), and Bayern Munich (Lazio).
