I just made this with survival cord with tinder core, fishing line, thread and 7 strand core, and a survival clasp that has a farro rod, blade, whistle, and a compass in the clasp. Cost me $3.55 to make 1. (With enough materials to make 12) I modified the pull pin a bit, it has a smaller knot and a bit more melted on the end to keep it secure, while still being able to yank it out if needed.
