My favorite time about the holidays is 1) enjoying some much needed time off from patient care 2) Taking that precious time to help create holiday memories for our kids. This year we will all be reminiscing about past holidays growing up since we will be apart from our extended family due to Covid. The holiday spirit is what makes us whole and will help us move forward each and every day.

Best part of the holidays is having the whole family gather at my parents’ home - the place they bought over forty years ago. We’ve added nieces, nephews, kids, and grands and there’s always plenty of food and love to go around. Even though Daddy passed away a couple of years ago, we still all make time to gather at the home place and soak up the blessing of family.

I use to do a pull pork butt and homemade BBQ sauce for my ex 7 years ago. She was a nurse and would take it to the hospital for her team and they all loved me for making it for them!!! Making this meal is so satisfying and makes all you cook it for happy !

My favorite part about the holidays is bringing the family together and inviting my coworkers that don't have a place to go, and show them all that they are loved and that they matter. I'll never forget spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter in Afghanistan and they treated us like we were royalty. I just want to reflect that to everyone around me, especially during the holidays.

The best thing about the holidays in my opinion is practicing the traditions passed down through family and allowing them to continue on with new generations. Teaching, learning and growing to allow some of the best things in life too live on. Even in one of the worst years in my life's history, I know there's a little peace and good feelings around these times and that gives me comfort and my kids comfort. We all need some peace in our lives.

"The best part of the Holidays" As a retired US Army Veteran, Husband, Father and Grandfather who was diagnosed with a fairly aggressive form of Leukemia in 2019, I embrace the spirituality and true sense of the holidays because each season is a gift that cannot be bought. There was a time last year when it looked like I might not get to ever again share a Christmas with my family, but, through His Grace, I was discharged from the hospital last Christmas Eve and went home to my loving family. While the pandemic brought its suffering to the planet throughout this year, I was given a second chance at life through a marrow transplant, with my daughter sacrificing and donating her marrow to me so that I may live. So the best part of the Holiday's, for me, is the simple fact that I am yet again surrounded by family, warmly wrapped in His Love.

As a Vietnam Veteran along our son and daughter being former United State Marines, we take a moment to say a prayer for our service people who are away from their families during the Holidays. Christmas is special to me because it was special to my dad who has passed away. So now Christmas makes warm memories of dad. He loved large gatherings and helping cook usually smoked ham or fried catfish. He liked untraditional meals. Every years was a different menu. He was very important to me.

"The Best Part of the Holidays" My favorite time of the year is when Thanksgiving begins. This means Christmas is around the corner and we (as a family and friends) come together to end the year sharing laughter, great food, fun and memories with one another. We share the blessings of living in a nation where we have the freedom to celebrate as we choose. It is a holiday tradition for us to invite someone who may not have family near by to join us for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is what the holidays mean to me. Best thing about the holidays is the time with family and friends. Always appreciate it and never take it for granted, no matter how short the visit may be. As prior active duty military including overseas deployments, and current law enforcement officer, I have missed my fair share of holidays. Wondering if you will make it to another family holiday makes you really appreciate it. This year there are so many that are unexpectedly missing family members. It just really sinks in to be nice, do a good deed, visit while you can and appreciate what you have. Also remember that your blessings come from one place, and to be grateful and give thanks always.

The best thing about the holidays is seeing loved ones from different places and laughing with crazy stories from the past. Seeing the joys in strangers faces when you wish them a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah. Sitting down next to a warm fire drinking some coffee, tea or hot chocolate while eating some holiday sweets. Even during this dark time of Covid-19 we can still get together via computer to still cherish those good times. The holidays are at the end of the year so we can hope for a good year to come because we have learned things from the past year. Memories of spending time with family at my grandmothers house on Christmas Eve, watching our kids on Christmas morning, driving around town appreciating all of the decorations, and spending time with my fellow deployed Soldiers when we can’t be home with our Families.

I would have to say that the best thing about the holidays are spending time with my daughters and wife, along with all of my family. After spending many holidays in Iraq and other places while in the Marine Corp, it is always a special time for me. My favorite time of the year.

What I love about the holidays....I love family, both blood and blue, and it being a time where we can just stop, put differences aside and enjoy each others company. And when working, the knowledge that because I am working, others get to be home with their family making memories. Kent, I have to say I really appreciate you adding the first responders to your tip of the hat! While being a small gesture, its always nice to see someone who reaches into so many homes thank us. And Im here to tell you, this recipe right here, is the perfect one for those first responders to feed the shift! Merry Christmas Kent and Shan!!!!!

My favorite part of all the holidays is the blessing of sharing our fortunes with family and friends. Sharing the tastes of the past and incorporating new tastes as well. If we're really lucky, we might be able to share with someone that could use a little extra as well.

The best part of the holidays is being able to get together with family and friends and catch up with everyone and just forget about everything that’s going on in the world and give thanks for all our blessings and eat all this delicious food everyone cooks up

The best part of Christmas for me is Jesus and watching my wife's eyes light up when the grand kids get excited over presents and her good home cooking. I'm learning (trying to) how to smoke and grill like you, but I got a long way to go. This year we're doing the beef Wellington like you suggested!

It sounds cliche but the older I get I can honestly say that the thing I love the most about the holidays is spending time with family and giving to others. This pandemic has reminded me to keep your family close and the Lord closer. Thanks for giving me and my lovely wife, of three years, the chance to enter the giveaway!
