I am really impressed by the power of your 0turn mower. The grass is just starting to grow up my way... still a couple days before i can ride my cub cadet to the turfs. Thanks for the video!
Just a little warning, the hydro pumps on ztrs have pretty low weight limits for how much they can pull, even a 27hp 72" cut exmark is only rated for towing 80lbs for a grass catcher. Tow more than recommended and you run a high risk of burning out the pumps, even more so on those small pumps on the ztr you have.
Note to all watchers. To increase traction on duelies. You must increase weight as well otherwise your just decreasing traction by increasing surface the tires cover without more downforce. This is why jeeps with big ol 38" tires don't climb rocks well 😀
Ours is a john deere 0 track its a lot bigger and has a blower fan and 17 bushel hopper catcher.... We cut ball feelds with it at tbe collage i work for ....its awesome... Most all our equipment is J.D. our bat wing mower is a monster... Cuts 13 feet wide...
Hopefully you see this message. I have a craftsman yts 4500. Same set up as that green John deere. How can I pulley swap my tractor when it had the foot pedals for forwards and reverse. I was also told that you can weld the diffs because I have a dually set up as well with ag tires.
For mud mowers, I love craftsman. For mowing, I love a zero turn. I love my craftsman, but I just picked up a commercial Toro that is super fast... It may be my new favorite. I just did a video of getting it for free and getting it running. Thanks for watching.
I know what you mean. When mine had the stock turf tires, it was getting stuck all the time. Did you see where I cut the turf tires? That helped a bunch, but atv tires are the way to go. thanks for watching.
People claiming he had the truck in gear or the brake on until he used the ztr are dim. Even a residential ztr can weigh 250 pounds more than a basic riding mower...with most of the extra weight over the drive wheels. It looks like the craftsman version of my troy bilt mustang, which weighs just over 700 pounds.
I want use my rider for area they used a bush hog to clear an acres, shrubs and saplings, still stubs of wood sticking up, I want to ask do they make HD Brush blades for Craftsman or a mod you can suggest? So I can go through heavier stuff not wreck the machine, it's 16 HP
Wow! Having all the weight of the deck hang there really helped you pull that truck. Next time air down all of your mud mower tires for better traction
chud327 you shouldn't just do that for pulling. If you are them down it will lower your ground clearance a little bit but it will help in any situation you get your mud mowero into. I don't like those dirt Devil's. They need all of the help you can give them like airing them down. Good luck you should do a video on airing down everything.
i should try airing down. I used to want dirt devils really bad back when I had a 4 wheeler. If you go over 25 inches tall, they have really deep lugs. I am planning to put the tractor tires off of the dually onto the Deere. That will be a good experiment.
Hey chud, I live in Florida, where can I get mowers like this? I live in belleview and if you are willing to sell a mower with a vertical engine shaft then I will buy. I want a mower that I can put a predator 212 into and I can’t find any around Facebook marketplace that are worth it. Could you help me out?
You may think that, but no. i am honest and should have shown it was in neutral with not parking brake on. In fact, I will do it again for you tomorrow on my latest full size truck project. Please tell me you are subscribed so you don't miss it. Thanks for watching.
I find most of my tires of Facebook marketplace, you just have to be patient and look daily. I had to drive about an hour to get the dirt devils. Thanks for watching.
wrong on the traction part unless you add weight because the more tire on ground less wight for traction. also the zero turn may have worked then but you will pay later they werent design to pull so your drive system wont stand up to the extra stress
The higher the hitch point the more weight transfers to the back wheels. If you can lift the front wheels while towing your at optimum traction. So twice the weight on the rear and twice the number of tyers makes twice the traction.
The main reason the zero turn won out was because it had the weight of the engine and a grown man riding on the tires and both tires were pulling. Those cheap mowers are super light in the back and the transaxles only give power to the free spinning tire
you need to take the s-10 out of park to make it fair, wow fake news!!!! i did this exact test with my craftsman rider and my s-10, my craftsman pulled my s-10 all around the yard!!!
Dude say you will Park the car on 4step treads to stop the wheels sinking a tad into the lawn . Plus a mechanic told me that those zero turns are Not made for towing . Buggers up the drive motor and then you are looking a big money. The school I worked at got rid of the slower mini tractor mid mount deck and spent up and bought a zero turn . Couldn't do anywhere near the amount of work we used to
Thank you so much and I should have something for Saturday morning, I hope to hear from you again. P.S. There may be another before then too, since I am on summer schedule. Thanks for watching.
Somewhere there is man.Strong machines those MTD's. My brother has such a tractor , 13,5 horse and it is amazingly strong. The thing is the MTD is affordable and if you can work yourself on it for changing oil and belts and sharpening the blade it is a cheap machine. The motor is Briggs and as long it has oil on it it will run. MTD used to sell under their own name in Europe. Craftsman brand is hard to find in Belgium.
No, it's because regular tractors only have one drive wheel turning open differential, zero turn mower's have a rear end drive for each wheel and both wheels can get traction at the same time.
yeah i used to pull a 4 wheel dubble axle trailer with 4 cords of blocked up wood with a G2160 kubota wich it hauled like it wasnt even on it the little g2160 kubota was that strong powerful little diesel garden tarctor plus my kubota dealer gives a free 5 year warranty on them wich pretty good warranty for kubota mowers
