Mare is a Canadian RU-vidr sharing her journey in daily vlogs. Mare has a son, Thomas, who is deaf and on the Autism Spectrum. In June of 2017 Mare's husband Jeremy committed suicide after battling depression and anxiety for years. They shared their story for a couple years on this RU-vid channel. Mare created the Mareathoner community, a place where she makes sure everyone feels less alone. Mare left a decade-long career in radio to start her own business in 2016, Redhead Mare Media. I stumbled across your videos one night when I was feeling down. I haven't lost anyone to suicide, but I'm the suicidal one, suffer with depression and mood swings, my son is autistic and some days are hard, your videos have helped me in a lot of ways, some days are so hard, but I don't want to hurt my family like your hurting , love from the UK xxx

The beginning broke my heart but I love how you payed attention to what you needed to get through the day! I am inspired by your ability to not give in to stopping off for take out or junk food. I would have indulged and then had something else to cry over..😫. This video was fantastic.. and so are you❤️

Hugs and thanks. I needed this. My dear friend, who helped me when my husband died 10 months ago, lost her husband this week after a motorcycle accident. He was 38. She was surrounded by loved ones at the hospital, but I was the only one who has lost a husband so she kept asking me "how to do this." My heart is breaking for her & I am having a hard time reliving my own nightmare with her. I helped her at the mortuary, which was torturous but I don't think I can go to the funeral. I have no one to lean on & cry. (I'm fairly new to my town & have only a few friends, none who know this particular friend.) Today was particularly hard so I'm glad I watched your vlog. Bless you for helping the rest of us.

Gillian I am so sorry for your loss and for everything you are going through. Sounds like you are an incredible friend to help your friend. I find in helping others and by being so raw and honest in my vlogs, it helps me. It's encouraging to feel like what I am going through is for a reason and will do some kind of good. Oh Mare, this was tough to watch. I'm sorry it was such a difficult day but I want to say thank you for sharing and bring vulnerable with us. One of the major reasons I'm a Mareathoner and have so much respect and admiration for you is how even during an incredibly tough time you're thinking about how you can help us. I hope that helps to sort of shift the focus of your day. You're teaching me how to find my own strength and not dwell on the negatives in life.

DO NOT DRINK COFFEE if you have anxiety, switch to tea, trust me I had major anxiety and dont touch coffee anymore. It makes a huge difference: trust a stranger :)

Relating to the music question.... are there any songs you can't listen to because they remind you of your dad? My spouse isn't much into music but soooo much music is linked with my dad. He is still alive now but after he passes I may not be able to listen to any of the music I grew up with :s

There aren't any songs that I can't listen to because of my dad, but it's been 15 years. I definitely used to get upset with certain songs.

lack of sleep is so hard for anyone to deal with. Hopefully the melatonin for Thomas will eventually start to work. Hoping you will get a good night's sleep soon. I have been there too. Too much caffeine is a big one for me too.

You look very look very put together. I know how hard it is but it is good that you have to go out it makes you pull it together. Have you talked to the doctor about you taking melatonin? Have you explored the option of Melatonin for Thomas? I’m sure there are people that would argue that a sleeping aid is wrong for a kid...BUT you can’t live this way-my heart breaks for you. Lack of solid sleep is just so unhealthy:(
