Just got a pair of the vomeros for zone 2 running. After 20k I can only recommend them! With 2mm more foam in the forefoot they would be the perfect daily trainer
When my memory’s serves right I didn’t purchase any shoes of the New Balance brand except the Fresh Foam More line ( the More V3 and V4 ) So I‘m very hyped for the 1080 V13 because I want to know if the feeling of the ride is similar or way different 😍😃 Thank you for the recommendation 🙏 Other Runner RU-vidrs didn’t have so much love over for the 1080 V13 😁 Do you‘re the main reason for my purchase and my gut is telling me that I can trust what you‘re saying based on your energy you have and give out into the world 🙌🙏 Thank you for your being dude 🫶🏻
Hey, Yowana, what's up? After running enough miles on each of them, how would you say the upper, softer foam is holding up in each model? Can you feel the EVA under your foot at this point? I'm asking this because I feel that my VN2 has lost both pop and softness after a meager 80 miles, so I can now really feel the thin layer of EVA on the bottom (which is not a problem for me, I personally enjoy feeling the ground on daily trainers, and all that), but it made me wonder how resilient the Nitro foam truly is after hundreds of miles. In fact this has been bothering me in various models, because I get the feeling that they promise durability in terms of the outsole rubber, but newer, more technological foams simply cannot keep their performance over as many miles. Thanks and great job as always! Have a great week.
Hey man! After 100 miles the nitro foam in the puma is holding up well. It is a firmer ride compared to other daily trainers, but since you have the 2 you're familiar with what it feels like. It's not the most forgiving ride and almost feels like standard EVA at slower paces, but gives a really nice bounce when running fast. In the Nike, the midsole still feels soft and has a nice pop at 200 miles - I'm happy with how the ZoomX is holding up so far but want to see how it goes at 300+ miles
@@supwell Interesting! Do you know if TPEE is resilient in very hot environments? I'm asking because I bought my Puma last spring and I went running with it over a few times at temperatures reaching 95 degrees (and I'm pretty sure the pavement was even hotter), so I wonder whether this is the reason why it feels "melted", not literally, of course, but it's how I can describe it at this point. Thanks again!
Deviate nitro 2 is more fun and bouncy - velocity nitro 3 is firmer and more supportive. You'll likely prefer the deviate nitro 2 unless you like a firmer shoe
From what I’ve seen online, the vomero has an issue with its foam breaking down at the lateral forefoot area. If you’re a mid to forefoot striker, you will eventually feel pain running in the vomeros.
Thanks for sharing - I have about 200 miles on mine and haven't experienced that yet (I am more of a heel striker tho). I'll make sure to look out for that as I get more miles in the shoe
Hahaha great point - sorry about that. If you like firm like the puma, a little more on the cushioned side and want a 4mm drop - Altra 4wd experience, Saucony endorphin shift 3. For softer and lighter, rebel v4 is a good choice (6mm drop) or hoka mach 5 (5mm drop). Also puma deviate nitro 2 feels extremely similar to the Vomero and has a 6mm drop
Ah yehhhhhh boi Pretty sure the Nitro foam is super critical TPEE. Not sure where I got that but I am sure it was a credible source (e.g. running warehouse, DOR, BITR, puma rep)…one of them
