My HOME for well over 30 years now. Originally from Homestead, Florida. If you move here, BE NICE to us Natives. We do not mind people moving here, just be kind and friendly and smile. Keep it like the South! Friendly. Let’s not make it a Northern town.
Lived for two years at two separate addresses in downtown Punta Gorda: one, on West Marion & Harvey and West Olympia & McKenzie. Sadly, both Houses are gone now, due to Hurricane Charley in 03; but it was a pleasant experience getting to live there; going to the Piers at Retta and Lashey every day or night ❤
One of the greatest pleasures living in PG, was hanging out with Joyce Lenz, She'd show me her family photos and tell me stories her Uncle Ulysses Cleveland told her Been a privilege to be a Charlotte Co. resident for 30 years Best Place On Earth ❤
I really enjoyed this video. I loved hearing the older folks talk about their childhood in living there. I loved everything except hearing about the segregation however I know that was the past and we must hear about it so that we won't repeat it in the future. Anyway not sure but this one's truck Accord with me. Thank you guys so much for sharing.
& the story I've been told, PG was very progressive for it's time, & segregation wasn't observed as "much" as other parts of the South But, yes, it's horrible how ppl used to think and treat African Americans
