I really like your videos - so much that I recently bought your program. This said, there is so much discussions BEFORE you actually deal with the issue stated in the video title. This one is a good example: you only begin to speak about the problem at 6:45 mins, more than half the full time of the video. Again, your videos are super-useful but this is getting really annoying.

Well, I did what you said. Now, he jumps on me, then immediately sits and stays (without my command) - because he knows a treat is coming. He thinks JUMP-SIT-STAY is what gets him the treat!

Mine do the same thing, but it’s pulling on the lead, then circling back to my heel. Over and over… Also the bark, so I que “no barking”, few seconds of calm quiet, then treat. They’re working me… I know.

i got really lucky with that none of my dogs jump unless they are told to... 55 pound aussie and a 90 pound mutt.. if that 90 pounder jumps on you.. you'll know and land on ur butt very rapidly.. lol we just got a mini aussie 8 weeks 3.1 pounds.. he is nuts but crate training is great but when he knows your awake and he is in his crate i swear he is cussing you out lol

Do you recommend reinforcing with both food as well as touch? Ultimately, they want to be greeted and touched, is that enough for them

How often should treats be given to an Australian shepherd? I'm curious about their diet and what that looks like in relation to their training as well

I use freeze dried beef liver treats. Tiny pieces are very powerful.

my aussie used to jump only at feeding time... so i would take a few pieces of his food and get him to sit and stay. At the time we had a 15 year old mini schnauzer who would bowl surf till she found her bowl. for her safety we have a release word for the big dogs to eat. When sassy (schnauzer) found her bowl and sat down the big dogs would look at us and i'd say okay and they could eat. Sassy has passed 1 year ago but they still sit and wait to eat. it controls the crazy at feeding time.

Just turn away every time they jump. Then once they sit, you pet. Once they get crazy again, turn. Only show affection when they don't jump.

Hello.....I like your videos very much. Especially the video with the puppy biting helped me. Our Nox an AS is exactly 1 year old since yesterday. He has a habit of jumping on our kitchen and dining table looking for food. He also likes to be bold and steal the food directly from the children's hands or later from the table. In this regard, I've tried using loud commands like Awwwww while standing over him with my shoulders hunched behind, unfortunately without success so far. Do you have any advice for me in this regard? Please keep up the great AS videos. Thanks

How can I restructure my relationship, the actual owners of the dog do not want to be that leader, so everything I teach him they let him get away with and now he’s 5 months old and has many bad habits

I just found the channel today and I’ve learned just how terrible of a Dad I am to my 4 , yes 4, Aussies. Every video you have about bad behaviors my dogs have. It’s extremely difficult to give attention to 4 attention seeking dogs. I don my best to treat them all the same. They watch to make sure I don’t give more attention to 1 of them.

I’ve actually been dealing with the same thing. My Aussie loves attention, and I let so much behavior get out of control, with a child on the way I’m trying to get it under control so I have a safe and stable household for my child
@craigmayhan4009
@craigmayhan4009 Год назад
@@marshmallow-chell562 2 of mine love everyone including kids of all ages.1 is skiddish and barks at everyone and the other doesn’t know if it wants to bark at you or love you to death if you’re a adult but doesn’t like kids and will try to herd them if they run.The 2 that love everyone somehow manage to dig and tear thru my chain link fence, go visit the neighborhood, swim in the lake and return home. The other 2 wouldn’t leave the yard if you left the gates open and come tattle on the other 2 when they “break out”. 2 years ago I didn’t own a dog….it’s a long story but now I have a momma,daddy and their 2 sons because I’m a idiot. :)

So you suggest using a slip lead even if you’re at home and guests arrive to test your Aussie?

It's the easiest way to train them, to set it up and drill it. It's the same as you do with any other training, set it up so you're ready to teach them the desirable behaviour instead of just waiting to correct the undesirable behaviour 😊

I'm so excited I found you!! Alot of training videos seemed like so much your videos seem so basic easy to do (with work of course) I'm so excited to get to work on these with our girl she's almost a year she's pretty good with most things but I'd love to get her better especially with the jumping 😊

We have a handicapped grandson with Cerebral Palsy. He uses arm crutches to walk. If my dog jumps on him, he will fall. Therefore, my very loved Aussie must learn not to jump.
