I’m a Buckeye fan and I think the way Purdue played today, it’s possible. I put OSU by a field goal, but won’t be surprised if Purdue breaks the secondary.
I'll never understand how Purdue gets these crazy ass upsets every year. With that being said, I really, REALLY want them to beat Ohio State next week. Edit: The game ended on No. 69 of Michigan State getting called for a false start. This could not have been more perfect.
@@Walkencharlie12 Aidan O'Connell against teams ranked in the top 3: 2-0, 74% completion rate, 456 yards a game, 5 touchdowns, zero interceptions Aidan O'Connell against everyone else this year: 3-3, 208 yards a game, 7 touchdowns, 8 interceptions
@@davidwestin6345 Pretty fucking crazy if you ask me!!!!! And as far as Purdue's next opponent, apparently it's Ohio State. Whether that game is at home or on the road for the boilermakers remains to be seen.
I went to this game and I got on tv twice, rushed the field, I got to shake Jeff Brohm’s hand on the field, and I got to get a picture with Roosevelt Colvin retired NFL superstar so to say the least it was the best time of my life!
Purdue alum here, and you're not wrong. They can knock off these top-tier teams and then play down to the competition the very next game and lose to the likes of an unranked Wisconsin or Minnesota, who lost to freaking Bowling Green and Illinois just this year. It's a consistently inconsistent team to be sure. When they play well with nothing to lose, they are world-beaters. When they think they're amazing and play against a team that they should easily beat, they turn into a pumpkin and get gobsmacked. It's very weird.
...not really. We have the most because we used to play Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan nearly every year. We have had a lot of chances to play top 5 teams...we lose most of them.
@@thomasdemay9805 Not really. Purdue kept Norte Dame on the ropes for the entire game. A late touchdown from Norte Dame made it 27-13. Buckeyes tend to underestimate some teams that may not appear to be as good and almost get beat because of it.
Ever since the 1960s I've called Purdue the Spoilermakers as they've pulled a lot of major upsets thru the years even when their own win-loss record wasn't very good. A few weeks ago they stunned #2 ranked Iowa handily 24-7.
Well if Michigan hadn't f***ed up against this same Michigan State team and had Ohio State played down to competition against Oregon (a loss) and Nebraska (a win) then the conference wouldn't have this problem.
You know OSU is watching this and is gonna be good and ready next week. You can only catch so many top teams unprepared before one of them wises up and doesn't fall for it. That and OSU already lost once, so they're not gonna have any misconceptions about being invincible.
Yeah no. Any Big Ten team would have lost to Purdue today. I actually had Purdue favor in that game given the circumstances. MSU could still be the best Big Ten team and time will tell that. 8-1 is not fool's gold, fool.
LOL what a crock! MSU still had a very respectable season (11-2 and peach bowl win) and took down the Michigan team that OSU couldnt! Purdue just knew how to torch our defense.
0:26 Bell would have scored on that big play if he would have kept running instead of trying to get cute with that cutback. Cost his team 4 points which thankfully didn't hurt them in the end.
I was at Ross-Aide stadium in 1966 when MSU beat one of the best Purdue teams with a sideline interception and went on to win the BIG Ten title. So this seems special.
Purdue: "We beat #3 MSU! Maybe we can beat OSU?" OSU: "Not so fast!" As a Spartan fan this really sucked but they exposed our mediocre O-Line and less than stellar secondary. Still a good season for us (11-2 and peach bowl win).
Damn! Well our unbeaten season was fun while it lasted. Still though, we’ve still got our entire season ahead of us and we’re still in playoff contention. We have to put this behind us and get back on track. We can still win the Big Ten East, win the championship, and make the playoff! All we gotta do is win out. Go Green!
@@kevingunnery5470 So you don't think that a sack, strip, fumble recovery in the end zone call reversal was a big deal? The ruling by the official was such, yet the review guy decided to say fck it and overturn the call despite no conclusive evidence. That was total bullshit. So was the last play of the game when M rcvr was pass interfered twice and no call. That was some home cooking. Oh well fxk them. They lost to Purdue. BOILER UP BABY!
@Sloppy Pancake Next week Michigan goes into the heart of the WHITEOUT! And if PSU wins they will probably storm the field considering what Iowa and Ohio State did after they beat the Nittany Lions.
@@averagejonathansmithenjoyer Bullshit. Watch the play again. It wasn't a pick... It was a rub. Big difference. And Thornes shin might have been down but the evidence was INCONCLUSIVE. Therefore the original call should have stood. M got fcuked on that play.
After osu almost losing to nebraska this afternoon I hope beyond hope that purdue comes in and upsets them next week. If nebraska can get that close anyone can beat them
@@jimminithecritic8623 yeah I'm an Arkansas fan so i wouldn't know. The only thing I know about is fighting through cardiac arrest during the middle of a game
Purdue has beaten the #2 team, #3 team and if they beat OSU next week then they would have beaten 3 top 4 teams (assuming OSU moves up in the rankings) 👀👀
Most predictable loss ever. I called this loss weeks ago. Purdue is unstoppable around this time of year at home. We were the underdog in that game imo. I still think MSU is good enough to win the Big 10 but now our margin of error is gone. Still control our own destiny.
