The Purdy power lock extension pole is a quality extension pole that makes painting with a roller much easier. This pole is available in 6 different lengths, ranging from 1 foot to 16 feet in length. This pole is compatible with most makes of roller frame.

Good to finally see a review that showed the attachment lock in action. Looks easy to switch between heads. Thanks lad 👍

Now that is definitely going to be purchased here. Had to do a LOT of painting this year using a Harris extension pole and roller. Never ever again! It was the worst piece of kit I've ever had to work with. This, on the other hand, looks superb. Thanks for the review Chez! ...... Oh, and happy new year if we don't speak before!

I do like the Purdy 2-4 pole but while I was rolling the wall mind broke in two right where the roller screwed unto the pole...leaving the one inch metal bit still screwed into to roller...I am trying to figured out if it can be wield back on

Great video, I have a Harris pole, very similar to your purdy one, and your 100% right about the flex, my Harris flexes to much now I've used it a lot over the last 4 years, plus Harris pole has a removable screw end cap which I have to really jamb into the end otherwise it keeps coming out!

Hi would love to see a review of the New Proform picasso roller sleeve thats lying on your work bench !!!
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 8 лет назад
+peter friel I have never used it I'm afraid. A mate of mine bought a couple of them at the National painting and decorating show in Coventry, so he gave me one. He then tried his and said it was nowhere near as good as the Purdy rollers, although he is still a fan of the Picasso brushes!

I own a Harris one, it's crap and like you say flexes and the head drops off! I'm going to pick one of these up next year. Cheers for the review

A good tip to clean your roller, spin them out on an old door or bit of ply, wet again and spin out the remanding paint and water until they are dry. They will be like new again.

Father in law uses them for his business (painter and decorator) needless to say ive borrowed them a few times, i really rate them highly, ive got my house to coat next year with Stormdry masonry protection cream
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 8 лет назад
+Graham Reid (Grizzle) I have never heard of that before so had to Google it ;-) Are you doing the whole exterior of the house with it? I'll take a look at the product later on tonight when I have more time! Thanks for the comment
@GrahamReid34
@GrahamReid34 8 лет назад
yeh i got a sample of it, and applied it to a few bricks, the beading is unreal, but what drew me to the product was the thermal properties since we are in a house of around 15 years old so cavity wall isnt an option, it isnt a cold house but anything to keep the heat i and water out is a great idea. they also say it can help with flooding which is unreal. my self and father in law will get it applied in the summer, i will do a little pointing and sealing with sika flex ebt then apply the stormdry.

Nice review I got one which I can't remember the brand but fairly solid. Also shame that rad pipe work couldn't be run underfloor in the last shot.

+Zed Man The flat is an ex council property, it's still owned by the council and you still get the same quality council work men working on it, although they have changed the name from the council to something else ;-)The quality of some of the workmanship is terrible!Everything is surface mounted, including the electrics which they have run in a combination of coving and trunking.Thanks for the comment ;-)

+Ultimate Handyman Unfortunately it's all about budget saving that's why they are surface mounted to save time. It looks horrible though.
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 8 лет назад
+Argyll1000 Absolutely, but unfortunately these firms are renown for wasting money. Whilst I was at the property two electricians turned up to do some work, they walked into the kitchen and said "oh someone has been already and replaced the lid on the trunking", then left. That was obviously a wasted journey for two people and a van. On the way out they did not notice that the emergency lighting in the communal hallway was not working, obviously they had to wait for a ticket to be submitted before they could touch it, even though it had been reported several days earlier. An electrician was then sent to fix the light in the hallway, so swapped the lamp only to find that it needed a new bulkhead, so he went away and returned a few weeks later with a new bulkhead. A mate of mine used to work for one of these ex council house companies and was sent all over the place just to change a tap washer etc. Half of the time he would be sent to fix a shower, only to get there to find it was an electrical shower, so he could not touch it and had to get an electrician to fix it. It's certainly not the way most people would run a business! Thanks for the comment

+Ultimate Handyman Unfortunately I agree with you. My neighbour had an outside grill fitted which was fitted upside down!!! My mum needed a new spyhole for her door and four different people came to view it without actually doing anything. When it finally was arranged to be fitted on a Friday afternoon they pulled up at her flat and sat outside for 30 mins and then drove away. Obviously they sat outside because their van tracker would log they were there even though they didn't do any work. My mum phoned the council and was told they called but there was no answer! I wrote to the director but nothing was done. Any other other place would sack you. They're not all like that though. I think it's down to very poor management.

+Argyll1000 I think you are right, but large firms like this just can't manage people properly. Thanks for the comments

i wish someone would come up with this sort of design for a tow bar for a car
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 8 лет назад
+TheJeremyevans Blimey I think it's about 25 years since I was ever towed and that was using a rope- very scary when you are being towed downhill and you are pressing on the brake as hard as you can to avoid hitting the vehicle towing you! Thanks for the comment
@Argyll1000
@Argyll1000 8 лет назад
+Ultimate Handyman I've been told it's now illegal to tow someone using a rope.

Argyll1000 if someone did come up with a device for a retractable static tow bar, i bet dragons den would be intersted
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 8 лет назад
+Argyll1000 I think it is now, you have to use a rigid bar.
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 8 лет назад
+TheJeremyevans They should build them into some cars, such as Fiat's ;-) You can then just open a flat at the front and pull it out and away you go LOL
