For the fans of the unfiltered, mostly unedited and RAW sailing action here is Pure Sailing capsize edition.
As always no music, no comments and no special effects, just pure sailing.
The idea behind this series is that you can imagine how it feels to sail a boat like the Nacra 17. I mean how it really is!
Capsizing is part of the game and usually no big deal. To be honest on catamarans it does not happen very often so I am happy that I can show you the best mishaps out of a decade of catamaran sailing.

Love BornToSail Video Style. Been sailing as crew on an F18 FCS since 2019. These boats are no joke. This team is awesome.

Thank you very much! Always wanted to go back to the F18 for same racing. Unfortunatelly I lost a few pounds of belly fat, what makes us way to light for the F18. It makes us too light for the N17 as well but they don't have a minimum weight in the rules.

Thank you very much! I think with music it does look a bit more spectacular. Without, you get a better feeling of the conditions. It does feel more real. What is your favorite capsize so far?

Very nice videos!!! Maybe the helm should tighten his trapetz a little bit to avoid falling into the water. I must ask; is the Nacra 17 faster than the Tornado? And, what does 17 stand for, is it the length of the boat in feet? Please, someone answer!

17 is the length in feet and it is faster than tornado because of the modernity of the hull + the foils.

The hulls are 17 feet long and yes, it's a lot faster than a tornado. A foiling cat does sail different. With a normal cat you simply can bare away when sailing downwind. If you do that on a foiler you go swimming. Everything needs to be in balance.
