They change all year. They typically start out more red when first in leaf like this in the video. They mature to a more purple then late summer is green. East morning sun with late day shade will provide the best colors for this one. Thanks for watching!

There are many different stages. They do look more red on film here but at different times the same tree is bright purple

@@markherring6143 😭😭😭 maybe they will be purpleish ghostish 😆 F U ebay 🤬 they dont tell you these things when they sell you their seeds. But heres what I dont get. These seeds came from a " purple ghost" but you say it cant be a purple ghost unless it came from the original purple ghost back in time through a twig or graft 🤷‍♂️ then technically the original purple ghost was probably just named that way but really was just an off breed of some other maple tree then ? Then what was the original maple tree ? 🤐 this is too deep for me, I just wanted a bonsai tree dude 😆

@@markherring6143 😱🤭🤫 I just want a bonsai tree with purple leaves, Im collecting over 25 varieties of the most beautiful maple trees for my apartment balcony, I spent over 3000 on over 1000 seeds, summer gold, katsura, red leaf, crimson queen, bloodgood, cutleaf, dissectum, north carolina, jacaranda...etc, germination rates are horrible tho. At about 5 % Ebay sucks. Any advice on how to stratify and germinate, my luck is shit so far

They will fill out if you leave them. The best time to tim is mid to late March if you are set on removing them

It can for sure. That doesn’t mean it will every year. At a certain age Japanese maples can seed if the conditions are right
