PURPLE Ion Color Brilliance Permanent Purple review
This is NOT Semi Permanent
This is Permanent!!!!!
Hair dye will get all over, use gloves and apply some vaseline on face so you can remove it off easily. Do not apply vaseline on hair lol!
Hair dye comes out white yellowish but don’t be scared once you add developer it starts to turn purple in minutes, just keep mixing.
I bought this hair dye on SallyBeauty.com for $6.49 and developer was free. I bought 4 dyes so i got 4 free developers. GO before that offer expires.
This is MY OWN personal opinions and review....keep in mind my hair was light purple before i applied this dye on. I can not assure you that you will have the same results as me. I am NOT A PROFESSIONAL hair stylist. BUT i did a great job lol!

Thank you SOOO much for making this video! I purchased the permanent brights in red and I was so freaked out when I opened the bottle to see that it came out an off-white color. The directions confused me because I didn't realize how to use the dye. I had only ever used ions semi-permanent dyes, so thank you so much for explaining how this product works!!

Facial Constellations I am so so happy this video helped. I also couldn’t find any good videos explaining the dye coming out white or any good videos on a permanent purple. Hope you have better luck then me, my “permanent” purple came off 1 week later, horrible. I made a video on this.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I was freaking out when I squeezed the permanent dye in a bowl and it was yellow/white. After mixing it with the developer it turned to the purple (Radiant Orchid) I was looking for!

UnicornJazzy You are very welcome. Goodluck my Unicorn friend. It comes off pretty quick, thats the only down fall. Its suppose to be permanent but it was not for me. I made a video explaining this but besides that, its true to the color.

I actually did end up mixing plum with the purple because I felt like my hair would take on the purple too brightly. But it came out looking kinda wine/burgundy. Very disappointing but it doesn’t look too bad. I don’t mind it for now but I will try the purple on its own in a few months.

GIRLLLLL thank you SO MUCH i was doing my brothers hair and i listened to the lady from sallys and added the cream to his hair straight from the bottle and was freaking out cause it wasnt turning blue, after some research we came across your video and immediatley started putting developer in his hair and it started turning blue LOL THANK YOUUU!!!😂😂😂

Nice color love it..., i was thinking, can permanent color can mix others colors? I was thinking going for that purple and mix it with radiand orchid that is purple to make a lighter color 💜... or it only works for semi-permanant colors?

THANK YOU you’re the only one I’ve seen talk about the pale yellow. I’m currently dyeing my hair with ion permanent purple and I was freaking out. I didn’t grab the developer though and I don’t think I’m gonna be able to go out again tonight to get it though :( And so far it looks like my hair color isn’t changing very much :( Does it show up without developer but you have to leave it in longer?

so like, i had purple/pink hair before but it faded so i got this purpleish pink hair color from sallys and so i followed the directions and mixed it with volume 10 and it turned my hair like a blue grey color? i tried this 2 different times and over like 4 days it turns my hair like it distorts the hair color idk what im doing wrong

So you have to be careful what volume you use. It may lift the color alittle too much.

odetojennifer Hey! Honestly i don’t think it matters which BRAND but I believe it does matter what VOLUME. You can always give sallys beauty supply store a quick call and they will tell you what number volume to use. I also use different brand developer with different hair dye brand. Hope this helps.

loveee how this turned out!! i have naturally dark brown/hair that goes to a pale blonde (i had a balayage). would you recommend a 10V developer with the ion permanent purple or a 20V to cover the top darker part of my hair?

Megha Patel Heyyyy🥰 So this question is exactly what i had when i first dyed my hair purple. The color came with that 10 volume developer so I wasn’t sure if i was using the correct developer, i just went with the flow and it worked lol. BUT i found this information for you, hope it helps 💕 1) Developer Choice by Color Type Temporary colors - semi-/demi-permanent colors are mixed with weaker developers (3 Vol. to 20 Vol.) or even no developers. Permanent colors - these color are used with moderate developers. Usually 20 Vol. to 30 Vol. Lighteners - it is necessary to use stronger developers to the bleaching powders or creams. Hint, if you’re a guy trying to apply this, my trick is using a comb while it’s in your hair to get all the way down to the root. Also, you might want to bleach your hair if you desire a brighter purple, I can tell you this purple is bomb

I love using ion permanent hair colors, but I find that they don't last very long either. they seem to last a little longer than the semi permanent , but still stain everything. Have you found any other dyes that last longer?

Hey girl 💕 I honestly use Revlon for like $2.98 from walmart or target. Those colors have lasted the most. BUT besides that I recommend Loreal Technique hicolor brand. I did my nieces hair a red and its lasted forever. I purchased these in Sallys Beauty Supply store.

This was my issue when I used the red from this line. It stained EVERYTHING. I ruined sheets, pillowcases, towels, everything. I’m now wanting to go purple but I’m scared this will do the same

Mine didn't turn purple after adding the developer. Can anyone help me figure it out. They gave me the volume 20 developer at Sally beauty. She said to do a 1:1 ratio since the box said so. Do I need to wait for the mix to develop in the bowl?

Badd_N_Dangerous oh nooooo!!! When i bought this on SallyBeauty.com the website automatically recommended a developer with the hair dye and it even said it came free with the dye. Then i called the store and they confirmed I definitely needed one. I think you can wait a week and try again with developer.

Suzette Medina Hey 💕 So i am not a professional on hair dyes or bleaching BUT i have used bleach on my hair before and i used -Revlon Colorsilk Color Effects Frost and Glow Highlights, Honey -Revlon Colorsilk Color Effects Frost and Glow Highlights, Blonde These worked great on my hair. But bleaching hair does damage hair so be careful what you use on your type of hair. Thanks so much for watching!

The sally beauty rep also gave me a 20vol developer for this, i have dark-medium brown hair. I have a lot of hair and my strands are medium-coarse, fine underneath. I think 10 will work but 20 vol if you want to lift an extra shade. Im about to do mine now.

This hair dye does not last very long at all I was very excited to dye my hair so I bought the semi permanent first and it was not what I wanted so I bought the permanent and it was exactly what I wanted, but I’m very disappointed I’ve had it on for 13 days so about two weeks and mine is like silver purple and I can barley tell it’s in my hair I wash my hair every other day and I use cold water to wash it and stuff, I’m so sad but I can’t find any other permanent purple hair dye I’m very sad looking at my hair and I don’t wanna have to keep dying it All the time, I might not be doing the right stuff to make it last but idk how to take care of colored hair this was my first time actually dying my hair

Kaleigh Yats I agree with you 1000% that was my frustration. I even used manic panic and they don’t stay on long. Sallys beauty supply store always recommended bleaching hair first before applying a color like this BUT i didn’t, i actually had it dirty brown. They also sell a brand called HiColor and its made for dark hair only.

I feel like there's a misconception about what semi, demi, and permanent colors really mean. Semi and demi are generally direct dyes and the difference between the two IS how long it lasts, but that is NOT the case for permanent colors. Permanent hair color just refers to colors that require a chemical reaction (usually involving peroxide or developer), which actually lifts the hair as well as color deposits. It really doesn't have anything to do with the amount of time the color lasts. Some permanents really are permanent (black is especially hard to get out), but some will only last a few weeks.

So, I def recommend arctic fox pastels for a light purple if you've got light blonde hair or have bleached it to a very light blonde. It has amazing conditioners in it for hair that's been bleached or is a bit weak. And it is really brilliant. It lasted for about 2 months when I had it and it really did help improve my hair's overall health after bleaching. Best of luck on ur hair adventures💕💋
