She’s amazing! Especially in this performance. Check it out if you haven’t already seen it. And if you have seen it, well do yourself a favor and watch it again! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yMr-CGEq7cI.html
@@justinbenoit4 My favorite Carina Round performance. Have to watch it every now and again. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DgEixXwDXAQ.html
Probably one of my favorite lines in a song, "Yes we're being condescending, yes that means we're talking down to you." Made me instantly laugh, because explaining what condescending means as if the subject doesn't know is in fact, condescending.
Everything Maynard touches turns to gold... Tool, A.P.C. Puscifer, AND with Deftones and Rage Against The Machine and Tori Amos.... and making wine, what a guy!
Chris W , sorry, man, I’m getting my comments mixed up. The Alice In Chains is some bootleg recordings. I’ve never seen video of it. My bad. Still pretty badass though
Jamal, I listened to this song for the very first time after being transferred out of the ICU on my birthday (5/2/23) where I almost bled to death due to an old injury. This song was picked for me randomly, and I listened to it for about 4 hours straight alone from 1:00 AM on. Man did it get me and my body in a fighting mood and is a big part of why I made it home safely and in one piece to recover. I grew up in a small rural farming town as a small kid, and without my parents back in the 70s after they divorced, and my brothers went 1500 miles away with my dad, and my mom disappeared. No cousins, no siblings. I went from having a family to having nobody. They stuck me in first grade in "gifted and talented," then made me walk around school with a French Horn for 5 years. Way to put a target on a small new kid! And let me tell you, the beatings began raining on down from kids several grades up, from bigger kids in my class (which was most of them), from groups of bullies, and so on. You learn fast not to run your mouth, to get along with everyone, to run faster, and to fight back so hard that you just become more of a pain in the butt to bother with than it is worth. Nobody wins 1 v. 8 fights, and certainly not in grade school. You lose every single one. But eventually, you learn that it is better to get punched in the mouth than cry. It hurts far less. That is such a hard lesson to learn as a child. I am the man I am because of those horrible days. I eventually got street smarter and street smarter, and then discovered all that running and fighting turned me into a good enough athlete and ballplayer that it helped me get out of that town. But at night, sometimes...those beatings still rain on down... It doesn't matter what culture or where you came from, if you come up hard, you understand the lines: "You speak like someone who has never been Smacked in the fucking mouth That's OK, we have the remedy You speak like someone who has never been Knocked the fuck on out But we have your remedy," And then there those of us that simply never will. I love this song. And I love your reactions brother (if I may call you so). I have been a subscriber on your channel for a long, long time. Keep the great work coming! A Friend on the Mend
Puscifer's a bit of a concept band with collaborations with different artists. So some songs will sound completely different from one another. The song Potions was done with Trent Reznor of NIN and Maynard. I like to believe that Maynard is talking about someone specific in Remedy. If you watch the video to The Arsonist it will become more clear.
I always assumed that this song was about the trolls on the internet and all those people who use the anonimity of the internet to say the most stupid things but it could be about one specific person. Or maybe both.
i love how engaged and thoughtful you are with everything you listen to, even as a fan of the band you point out things i don't really recognize/appreciate
I love Tool and APC, but never really listened to Puscifer until recently just looking for something new to listen to. And now i listen to them more than new Tool album. Just can't get over how awesome they sound. And this song especially is an all time great.
I thought I used to live for Tool. Then at some point I think APC moved past them. Then I got into Puscifer and I dont thing there is a better band on the planet. Its glorious and overwhelmingly powerful stuff
Lead singer and founder Maynard James Keenan is the lead singer of Tool and of A perfect circle. Puscifer is a L.A. based supergroup formed in 1995. The only permanent member is Maynard. The young lady is Carina Round (I think).
I saw in an interview maynard saying that pucifer: grand canyon was his personal favorite song that he had done... which is saying something to say the least.
W. McMaster , Grand Canyon was the 1st song Puscifer played at the Monster Mash festival in Tempe,AZ on November 1st, 2015. It was their first show kicking off a tour to promote the Money Shot album. Tool played the night before. And of course, both shows were great. I love Carina Round. So sexy.
I saw or read the same interview. His reasoning was how far they had to go to make it work the way it does. He even said it is likely not many people's favorite, but it is his favorite accomplishment.
I've seen Puscifer live and they blew me away. Completely flawless. I'm glad you reacted to them. Carina and Maynard's vocals work so well together. Absolutely love this project of his.
Puscifer is wild man, it's a bit of a bumpy road but interesting no matter what! Would love to see some Queens of the Stone Age reactions man, I appear Missing, My God is the Sun, No One Knows, Go with the flow, the list is endless.
The best Puscifer song IMO is hands down "Galileo", which is an awesome tribute to Galileo. Carina sings in quite a bit of Puscifer's music so I think you'd definitely dig them.
Puscifer’s sound is incredible. When this came out in 2015 I don’t think my ears were ready for their aesthetic. It’s so groovy and heavy and graunchy & soft all at the same time.
So glad you've dipped your toes into the "Perfect Circle/Puscifer" pond, but I'm afraid it's deeper than it seems, but trust me on this... You'll enjoy being pulled in. Much love man, keep up the good work!
I spent all morning watching your channel. It's not just cool, it's a great message for all of us. People talk about changing racial tensions, but nobody ever wants to figure out why we are what we are. Music how genius.
Tool has been my favorite band since 1993, but a lot of Puscifer stuff is just as good to me. Particularly the later content when he started taking it more seriously.
Just saw these guys with Primus and a perfect circle for Maynard’s 60th birthday celebration. It was a week ago and I’m still reeling. Possibly best show I’ve ever seen
I love what your doing. Keep keeping it real. Maggot Brain by Funkadelic is a must listen.....I credit you for reintroducing me to great music that I took for granted. What you are doing is much appreciated. Be well.
Puscifer are SOOOOOOOO underrated...... Maynards vocals on Grand Canyon - standout!.. Bassist & drummer in Puscifer are from A Perfect Circle as well lol
I think this is Carinas song her and Maynard are so great together and he showcases every member of all the people around him so much love and give us so much music
Puscifer was first used as the name of a fake band Maynard fronted on the skit comedy show Mr. Show with Bob and David back in 1995 and 1996. Adam Jones and an actor played the guitarists in the 1995 episode. Maynard was in one 1996 episode, but I don't know if Puscifer was in that one.
7:10 in your video, that breakdown is one of the most beautiful sections in rock music IMO and just adds a whole other layer on top of what was already such a well crafted song. Absolutely love love love Carina Round and the dynamic she brings to the band
That was the great, the incomparable Carina Round! Carina is my favorite female artist! I was a big fan of hers since her album "The Disconnection". I didn't even know she had teamed up with Maynard until Puscifer had been around for a few years! Puscifer is a little bittersweet for me because Carina hasn't really put out much solo stuff since she joined...oh well! I couldn't ask for a better team up!!
Yeah, I consider him to be King Midas. I live in Arizona and he does as well. Not only does he have three successful bands, but he has multiple successful businesses in Arizona. As I was typing this you asked about the female singer. I'm sure other people gave you the info, but if not, it's Carina Round. Her solo album Tigermending is seriously amazing.
By far the best sounding live show I've ever seen. As a matter of fact, I was so blown away, I bought a ticket to see them the next day in Grand Rapids and drove overnight from Milwaukee. I'm a huge TOOL and A Perfect Circle fan, but Puscifer has become my favorite band of Maynards.
If Maynard decided to just continue with Puscifer (out of his 3) I'd be a very happy girl. I feel like this band is where he can shine, Carina also centers him so well. I'd suggest the live version of Grand Canyon/Breathe. Although everything this supergroup has done is sooo good. New album 2021!
I love how excited you are hearing this for the first time. your face goes from lit up like a child on christmas morning, to shocked like you just opened your gift, to look inside to see what it was, to a calm relief then a overall pleased look from getting exactly what you were wanting. I think we all relate to this when Maynard James Keenan is on the mike.
Maynard is a bamf i love all his work and wish i had half his drive. Vice did a decent series on him called "The art of work" here on youtube. The Arsonist might crack you up by Puscifer. Serious style music Galileo or Grand Canyon are great jams
I'm a Tool fan. I read somewhere this song was a message to Tool Army for disrespecting his other projects. That made me look into Puscifer and Perfect Circle. So,... Yeah... Educational. ;) Love all your reactions!
I am a huge tool fan. They are my all time favorite band, but I listen to puscifer more over the last 10 years. I feel guilty saying it but I might enjoy them more now.
As others have said, on this track, and most of Puscifer, the female vocalist is Carina Round (check out "Carina Round - 'Backseat' (Official Video)" for some of her pre-Puscifer work), but on the first album, the female vocalist (plus some guitar parts) was my good friend Ainjel Emme (check out any of her solo work!) And more Puscifer!!!
Corina Round has an amazing Voice. Masha Zargaran is the Back up singer and is stunning and has a beautiful voice. Check out Grand Canyon Live to really hear them sing
good man listening to us! f*ing love how sarcastic Maynard can be - other great one is A Perfect Circle's "So Long and Thanks For All The Fish" "yes, we're being condescending yes, that means we're talking down to you with all that racket from you your lips a-flappin we assumed you didnt notice"
My first time hearing this myself! All I can say is cream always rises to the top! Such talent will always shine through. And got that little ear tickle too! It's those little touches that make it special!
This whole album is amazing and got me through one of the toughest periods of my life. The album before it, "Conditions of My Parole" was awesome too. Thanks for doing this reaction my friend and please feel free to look at any others they have done. Tiny Monsters and Telling Ghosts would be good places to start, but Grand Canyon will blow you away. Galileo and Agostina are also amazing. Carina Round is her name.
Man, I hope you sit back after your reactions, pop on the tracks, close your eyes and go on the journey. Every album between all 3 bands will take you somewhere.
You should check out Rev 22.20 from Puscifer , live version lalapalooza Brazil..Carina Round sings the whole song solo. If you need to get your lady friend in the mood that’s the song to help... trust me
I only knew Puscifer from Mr.Show. Didn't know they were real till recent years, so I was sill expecting a satirical punk 'joke' band. More Rush please. Also more Primus. Thank you
Carina Round is the female singer. Her and maynards voices mesh so well. You should do puscifer rev 22 20. it was the first puscifer song they made for the underworld soundtrack. they decided to make it a band after that one.
Tool is a fully collaborative band it's nobodies. That is why it takes them so long to produce an album. Either way Maynard is the face and front man of them all.
