How many days did you train for this position ?

Training is for two weeks and then OJT. It takes time in ojt.

@@RetroJack I worked as a pushback driver and headset man at LGW for 6 years I can confirm that the procedure was not 100% correct

The verbiage will vary from one airline to another, depending on their ground ops manual. Even between one driver and another. As long as the basics are communicated clearly and concisely, the flight deck crew won't have a problem. I was a pushback instructor, and as much as I focused on the communication aspect of the procedures, not every person was going to be perfect. It's not a perfect world. The main things are, check the towbar connection including the steering by-pass pin, communicate clearly, and pay attention to conditions and what's going on around you! Once the brakes are released, it's YOUR airplane!

Good question my fellow. If something happens to the engine he should report it to captain to immediately shut off them, than captain should report it to ATC. This is the reason headset operator is there when engine goes on.

that was by pass pin. it is compulsory to put in before pushback. it cuts steering system from cockpit so that pilot can not turn it otherwise it will damage NLG.

Honestly...dick simple. I can care less if you believe me or not...maybe it is hard for you...and you can't imagine how mindless it actually is. I have never used a Lektro...only a TLD and what we call "The Batmobile" Machine and aircraft doesn't matter...only the pivot points. If you are pulling and not pushing...that changes everything. If I am pulling...left is left...right is right...no matter how many pivots...they will only affect the radius of the turn. I do not pull planes however...as I push back commercial cargo planes...not pull rinky dink regionals around.
