Pushing the saabs engine a bit. Seems to work pretty good. The thing i will try out now is new spark plugs because the misfires is still there sometimes and the CE light.
The old spark plugs still works great but they are old and with newer ones i have gotten more misfires before, but i think i must tryout a few different ones if the originals dont work out.

I had a 82 and a 91 both 900 turbos. My 1st and 2nd cars after i got my license 25 yrs ago. The 82 was manual. Turned up the boost on both. Made it in to the 200k miles before i sold them. They always ran great. Would love to find another.

They are quite unique. I got this from my brother for my licence too, about 15 years ago. Then i just held on to it until i could fix it up. It got some problems but fixable. The hardest parts to find is parts for the body. They are quite rare these days so they could be hard to find.

You can import one from Netherlands as they're very cheap, and they're quite honest.

If this is pushing it I must have mistreated mine a lot. Still nice to see one on the road!

Take in account that it has not run for almost 15 years. So i think this is pushing it a bit. Also add to that that it is tuned. Original is 0.7 bar now its about 1.1 bar. But its a bit under that in the video though, but with new hoses and on high gears its close to 1.3 bars now so in a week or so when i get it in the garage that is also a point too look at.

@@saab900turbo9 It wasn't criticism, just that I know that these can take quite a bit more :) Mine also had a bit above 1 bar and kicked like a horse (on a good day). And speaking of hoses.. I was young and stupid and didn't have enough anti-freeze in it when I took it out for a ride in a really cold winter day in -30C. The hose to the radiator literary blew up, covering the whole windscreen with "gunk" consisting of half frozen coolant. Fun times :D Thank you for the video, it brings back a lot of old Saab memories!

@@Imwer this is my first car that i kept. Perhaps because it was a gift from my brother. It did not run right(turbo missfires) even though he is a mechanic he could not fix it. So a great first car he thought. I fixed the issue and tuned it an boy was he mad 😗 Young and stupid this had some fixing up to do too to get it to this point. Maybe i wont get it to mint but close. Yes these are even rare here in its home country of Sweden.

@@saab900turbo9 I am originally from Sweden and was also gifted my first Saab! It was a Saab 99 from the early 80s with metallic blue paint and blue interior - very fancy ;) It even had an Eberspächer, that I admittedly never used in fear of fire 😅 In terms of Saab it went from that one to the 900 turbo to a 9000, with plenty of other cars in between. Never been a Saab fanatic but I have to admit that the ride comfort in the 9000 series is spectacular. Your Saab doesn't have to be mint, just keep it going as a daily driver as it was meant to be. Best of luck!

@@Imwer A fellow swede, then you know how common saabs where just 10-15 years ago. An Eberspächer might be nice, but it a long way there, and i will not drive this on the winter anyway. It will be my nice summer car, not mint but way nicer than it is now. Some more welding and a little polish will get me a long way. Tack och ha en fortsatt trevlig dag! :)

bruh, when i drove my saab 9-5 aero i literally had to swap front tires every 6 months... as i had no threads. and i was under the car every month fixing something that broke after i beat the living shit out off it 😂😂blew up 2 turbos in 5 years. but the engine lasted 😇
@saab900turbo9
@saab900turbo9 5 месяцев назад
The engines is pretty solid in these. Turbos usually have a hard life so they can give up if pushed often. I try not to loose grip and good tires is a must in a car with some horses under the hood for many reasons other than slipping. Did the car eventually die?

Jag gillar placeringen av kupévärmaren!
@saab900turbo9
@saab900turbo9 4 месяца назад
@niklasandersson4175
@niklasandersson4175 4 месяца назад
Jaha, vilken rolig grej! @@saab900turbo9

In sweden, Beautiful summers and a bit too salty winters thats why i dont drive this or my volvo 740 in the winter here. Drive some at the countryside too and its an excellent spot for the saab 🙂
