Another nice way to keep water spots and stains from occurring. Anything that has an oily content will work. One of the oldest tricks is furniture polish I learned many years ago, which I have been using for about 30 years, and it works. You spray all over your faucets, sinks, and bathroom tiles. Wipe lightly the faucets, sinks, and tiles. It keeps hard water from building up on your tiles in your shower. Try that too. Thanks for another tip. ❤
You know that Rain-X stuff they make for the windshield of your car? It also will make water bead and run off of your shower doors and any fixtures in the same way. Much better than squeegeeing your shower doors or wiping down the faucet every time you use it. Works on glas/metal surfaces in the kitchen also. That's an actual trick that works.
Did you know barbsaol shaving cream has a anti fogging agent in it, so of you put it on your windshield, it will never fog again? Lol, works alot better than the rain X, but, rain x in the shower is good, but, one better, WD40- I use it for everything, its a GREAT cleaner and polisher for my tub, handles, tile, glass stove top to my stainless appliances ❤ They shine like brand new and water spots are a thing of the past w WD40. Stinks though 😂
By using Vaseline or any type of oil product want that eventually stopped up your faucet drain? It's just like they say if you put grease down a kitchen sink won't that work the same in the bathroom eventually stopped up the drain
Yes exactly. Over time I could see this building up in your pipes sadly. It would probably take a while but I guess it depends how often you wash the sink etc
I don’t see how when it’s a very thin layer over the faucet and counter. It gets mostly wiped off. This barrier is to stop water stains. And baking soda and vinegar will help unclog drains.
I just could not believe this cleaning trick when I saw it so I had to try it and amazingly it works! It puts a very thin layer of oil on the taps. I used it in my kitchen and bathroom and it has stopped limescale and stains. I cleaned everything first. Thank you!
This is a great trick. I actually have another slightly weird similar tip which is if you have very light pet scratches in the paint of doors, use vaseline. If it has fully taken the paint off it won't work, but if it is regular interior paint on a door which has that slight sheen to it, buffing a tiny amount of vaseline into it will hide it from most angles. Buff it really well, you don't want it to be sticky or super shiny lol, but it will fill the tiny crevices just enough to smooth out the visible scratches.
That toilet paper sounds like institutional 🧻 hospital or public school. The kind that can scrape your skin. It’s probably scraping up all the Vaseline. Others do this with baby oil. Haven’t tried either yet. We’ll see.
That’s the toughest looking toilet paper I have ever seen. It doesn’t tear after you used it briskly. And we live in Washington State USA where Starbucks flagship store resides along with Seattle Space Needle
Or you can do what i do. EVERY TIME that you use the sink. Dry it out. clean it really well. INCLUDING The sink in your kitchen. THEN AGAIN. I SUFFER FROM OCD. All in all. THIS is a good tip.try it.
Just use lemon pledge. I spray it on a paper towel and wipe the faucet and sink and it stays nice and shiny without water spots for over a week. Just do it every couple of weeks and it has the same effect.
I always had trouble finding a cleaner to remove hard water stains, then one day I tried my makeup remover cloth and it worked great! It’s the oil in it! I’m wondering what else I can use a disposable makeup remover cloth for?
me too still wondering!.. germs stick to oily surfaces.. so this trick will give a false sense of cleanliness whereas actually this sort of sink and it’s faucets will actually hold more bacteria than any other!
Nice and shiny, until the first time someone touches it, the fingerprints are now more visible and will also transfer the oily film onto the light switches, mirror and everything else you touch. Sort of more like a way to make a mess that’s shared by the entire family after going to the bathroom and “washing” their hands with an oily sink. 😂
Beautiful!!!...for the momemt! In west texas, that would be covered in dirt/sand before noon. Any kind of oil or even cleaners likw Pledge are no good unless you're just trying to shine up for a party that night, an open house event in real estate, or something in that nature. Oh and what do people think of the greasey hands when they leave this restroom? I'm sorry I'm not trying to be ugly but just thinking outloud
As soon as we were old enough, we were taught to super clean a bathroom. We were taught to get the same shine using only water and a dry rag. No vaseline.
The point of the video is to prevent water stains in future after you've cleaned it. After you have polished it using only water and a dry rag, you will inevitably have to turn on the tap again to wash your hands, and each time you do that, water splashes onto the sink and taps and leaves water marks. If you put something oily on the surface (such as Vaseline) the water will run right off and won't leave a mark. That's the point of the video.
@@anneonimous9306 Water is natural. Nothing wrong with using water and a rag. Vaseline is not a natural product - it's a petro-chemical product. Lemon oil or orange oil is natural. If you want to prevent tap handles getting dirty, then use gloves or an orange or lemon hand cleaner like Solvol and wash your hands outside in your garden. Vaseline is toxic.
Ingenious! Thank you so much for this video. I was beside myself and kept considering how there had to be a way to counteract these unsightly water stains. I am a very happy camper. Thank you again.
Most every sink has a basin; the basin is the interior of a sink where water collects! A “hand basin” is simply the basin of a “hand washing sink” which is often to be found in a bathroom, which is where one would also find the “bathroom sink” that can be named a “handwashing sink.” A “hand basin,” then, is simply referring to the lower portion of a sink used for washing-up, whereas a kitchen sink is one used for the tidying of dishes and during meal preparation.
Never use sandpaper on your sink! 😂😂😂 Wd40 adds the same protective barrier, it's also WONDERFUL for cleaning showers, toilets, tile ext... Plus, in the shower, it makes it so hard water doesn't stick to the walls, floor. I hate the smell of it, but it's WORTH IT!
I don't bother with any other part of the sink or faucet other than regular cleanings, but I like to add it right a light bead of jelly right around the base of the faucet where it meets the sink.. keeps it nice and clean around there.
I just use a foaming bathroom cleaner once a week. It takes less time, kills germs, eliminates spots and leaves the bathroom smelling fresh. What’s next…using bacon fat as a personal lubricant….?
It seems to me, that just like using tire shine on your tires, armor all on your car dash, petrolatum products in your hair to make it appear shiny, or a freshly washed car when it's still wet looks good. It's just a coating. Wouldn't the vaseline make everything a little greasy feeling, though, looks nice?
sure, if you want to clog up your pipes. YOu know they tell you to never put oil and grease down your drains, thats what you are doing with this. If you have a septic system even worse.
@@doubletapdeb I understand what you're saying, but you're not exactly putting it down the sink. If you dry the faucet and sink off twice, there's nothing to worry about. 😊
I wish you would speak, I was looking away and had to start over because I did not know I was going to have to read!. OK, I have not bought "Petroleum Jelly " in decades. Please tell me why I would want to use a petroleum product on my sink. Nothing is explained here!
After every use of my sink, mostly for shaving, I just simply wipe it down with the towel hanging nearby. Takes less than 20 seconds and my ceramic sink and tap chrome work are always clean and shinny. Plus its free and no chemicals being put into the drains. It just takes a little self discipline and you will always have gleaming sink area.
Well that’s absolutely a good trick . But I constantly use hot water (almost high temperature) to clean vessels and particularly after wiping $#%^. During those times due to high temperature the Vaseline is prone to melt and get washed away. Can you provide a solution for this 😢
Good God, I is it possible for you to make a longer video about a shorter hack? Seriously this could’ve been done in 35 seconds and I would’ve loved it you drug it on for minutes and I feel like my life is passing me for my eyes washing this ridiculous scrubbing your sink with toilet paper. We get it keep it simple OK you get a lot more likes.
