I love how this REVELATION was so GRAPHICALLY and SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING along with my TESTIMONY ,, that the BOOK of MORMON is the URIM AND THUMMIM :::: LIGHT PERFECTION TRUTH. 😊😊😊
It was hard to change my dress code once I went to the temple and made promises with JESUS. But, looking back I am SO GRATEFUL that God gave me garments as a reminder of JESUS CHRIST! His blood saves me! I love going to the HOUSE OF LORD...being set apart
I love that she mentioned our Hesed relationship. My sister and her husband named their homestead Hesed Ridge. I had never heard (or maybe not remembered?) the term before but now it has more significance
Love what she said, God sets the terms of the covenants. It is not by our own terms and conditions. When we are offered something we are given terms concerning it. We cannot set our own rules for covenants.
it is well worth the great price,,,i love my garment i love to put the armor of ligth the LORD JESUS CHRIST,,I love this powerful talk of a poerfull angel, disciple of the LORD JESUS CHRIST,,,,,y want I WANT MY LIFE BECOME A BRIGHTER SIMBOL a daily simbol of my comitment and devotion to him..
Sister!!! What amazing inspired words you shared!!!! You showed me SOOOOO much about my covenants on a MUCH DEEPER LEVEL!! ALSO, would you share names of some of the books you helped your children find the deeper meaning??? I would love to include these in my readings as a GRANDPARENT!! I thank God for you and your wisdom and your sharing it with us!
I just watched this video, as I missed it earlier today. While I do believe it was a great talk on the meaning of temple garments, I do wish it was more clearly taught that we do NOT make a covenant in the temple to wear garments, but are instructed on what they represent and to wear them throughout our lives. The reason I believe now it is important to teach that is because wearing them is not a direct representation that we are covenant keeping people, especially when it becomes such a part of our daily routine that we literally do not ponder on its meaning and simply treat it as our underwear (I think that’s most members, including myself), and given that we could be doing/saying some pretty awful things while wearing garments. Not wearing them every moment or day also does not mean we are not keeping the covenants that we did make in the temple. I write this very respectfully because I truly do wish important things like this were taught clearly. It would leave less room for judgment, which happens so much. :)
I'm not sure what you are trying to say. If you believe in the bible, you believe in "symbols". If you believe in Christ, He carries "symbols" in his own hands and feet; He not only holds tokens, but is a token. All things testify of God, and therefore are "symbols".
That's exactly what this woman said..... she said that we are not into the outward appearances and showing that we have made covenants, we have the sacred symbolism under our clothes for the Lord.
"Aimless symbols" makes me think of people striking sparks with a ferro rod or flint and steel, but using no tinder or even kindling to make a real fire. They are just pretending. Like in Isaiah 50 and 2 Nephi 7, they kindle spark but there's no real light that lasts, and they shall lie down in sorrow. We need to take our covenants seriously and feed the fire of our testimonies by living the actual covenants we make, sacrifice, obedience, the gospel, chastity, and consecration through tithing and service and developing ourselves and our talents and making the world a better place. Wisely worded if you ask me.
@glazeandscumble there is an awesome video by Anthony Sweat that teaches about this. I would highly recommend it - The Unfolding Restoration Lesson 20: the Presentation of the Endowment
I haven't read anything, my own personal opinion is that pieces of the Gospel that are and were all over the place are now subscribed in one place as a whole. The restored gospel took all the bits and pieces of pulled them all together.
They come from the same root. Masonry went off over the years and changed... the restored gospel is just that . Restored and ancient. Many forms of religion have similarities to ours.
The symbols of the square and compass have existed for a very long time. It was had by the ancient church and from there disseminated all over the ancient world. You can see it depicted in ancient Chinese and Egyptian art. The Free Mason’s adopted these symbols from the ancient cultures they observed them in. And when the true Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored those symbols again became a part of the Lord’s Gospel as it was anciently.
