Are you kidding me? They both showed interest in each other at the end. And he kinda perked up with happiness and hope. I think he is just suffering some sadness or depression because of his last marriage or his brother dieing. So he doesn't really expect good things form a relationship so thats why he doesn't even want to try to date her because he only thinks sad thoughts. BUT SHE has hope and likes him so keeps trying and thats why at the end he perks uP :D I honsetly think there is chemistry he just needs to let go of the past.

@@addiej5497 I think they have some differences and he might be right to say no but part of me thinks that he might be thinking so much about not wasting precious time he might miss out on a romantic relationship. He's obviously had at least 2 major losses in his life. The death of a brother and his marriage. Personally I've lost both my parents which was hard but they were older. One of the hardest losses I've had was the death of my friend's daughter who was 15. It was sudden. There is something about the loss of young person and when my marriage ended by mutual agreement I felt like my insides were being pulled out of me. Hopefully he has seen a therapist to work out the loss. In the end he might really had no at first sight attraction.

Movies, sitcoms, and reality shows have all used this concept, from The Real World, Survivor, to Big Brother, just to name a few... This is more of a social experiment than them actually trying to match people.

I think I meant to say that he shouldn't feel like he should have to settle with a certain girl out of lets say desperation. I don't think any guy should have to, regardless of their looks. I think so many people misinterpret what “superficial” means. It doesn’t mean this blown out of proportion person who’s obsessed with their looks. It means that someone is drawn to appearances rather than reality. That could mean physical looks, money, etc. So he does kind of indicate a bit of hypocrisy here: he says he dislikes people who don’t go beyond appearances (superficial), but then preceded to close himself off and not really open up because he’s not attracted to her right off the bat. Like you said OP, he just shouldn’t say that in the first place. So many people would benefit from embracing that they are in fact shallow in some ways, it’s not bad to not be attracted to someone. It’s bad to deflect and pretend like there’s a possibility when you really just want to say “no.” SoulPancake videos remind me of how difficult talking to people is lol.

He wants to get married and probably would like the option of have children especially within Marraige. EXACTLY. I like the guy and I'm not dissing him, but it's so OBVIOUS he dumped her because he wasn't attracted her physically. So he is more superficial than he maybe even realizes himself...

But most people have a certain look that they like.
