Here's my question: No matter how many men Russia can round up for its military, can it equip them in any useful way? The whole world noticed the ONE tank in the recent Moscow parade. We've also seen the trainloads of 70 year old tanks moving toward the front. And it seems clear that Russia is running low on higher tech equipment like missiles. And we've heard Prigozhin's complaints about lack of artillery shells and other ammunition. Are they going to send their newly conscripted men to war with broomsticks? The Ukrainians will probably bomb them with vodka bottles to keep them all drunk in their trenches.

During the vietnam war US GIs were being called baby killers back home. Imagine their dismay, and probably the reason the US ended their unpopular war. The reforms that made the US military so formidable is the result of that unfortunate foreign intervention. But in Russia, citizens find the atrocities commited in the motherland's name palletable, even heroic from some. Sons, Brothers, Fathers dying for some mythical cult of sacrifice propagated by overglorifying human waves in the great patriotic war.
