This was one of my favorite games as a kid! Even though I had pretty much no idea what the heck I was doing. and yet looking at this now I realize, why can't I enjoy seeing this like I did as a kid... I miss those awesome days of being a kid!
Oh gosh, Putt Putt was my first computer game. I remember playing Pep's Birthday Surprise on the computers at the library. I was born in 2000 so when I went back to his original game plays......Good gosh he was creepy! Yet, still adorable in an odd sense.
I was born in 2000 as well, I played this and Putt Putt Saves The Zoo! Sadly I no longer have have game disc's because they were too scratched to play and they are long gone!
this nostalgia omg!! I used to play this at my grandmothers house! makes me want to cry because it brings me back to such innocent, great times. I still have the disk, but it’s scratched to hell and back :’( i’m thankful I still have it though, it’s the only thing i got after my grandy passed away
I'm 28 and I remember playing this as a kid, something reminded me of this as well as Freddi Fish and the Magic School Bus games I used to play on my old family dial up computer. the nostalgia is crazy.
putt putt is so polite. if only the world just let us be this innocent for the rest of our lives and didn't drag on us for stupid stuff. then we could all live in peace, just like putt putt.
Putt Putt holds one of the funny memories of my childhood. When I got this game my mother was watching me play. I asked her if I could go to the mood. (I was like...3 so yeah) She said no. And all we did for like half an hour was do that ball thing at the launch station. When she left I went to the moon in game. I felt like such a rebel LOL. Thinking back on it now, I think she actually thought I actually wanted to go to the moon in real life
And you can with the gift of AMAZON!!!!! www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0009RAVFI/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1392516143&sr=8-1&keywords=putt+putt+goes+to+the+moon&condition=new I too wish to give my children the world of putt putt.
This is in my opinion the best Putt-Putt! The dark tone and enviroment was excellent and it reminds me of the best HE game (the first Freddi Fish game)
man in the moon: I’ve been waiting for a picture of myself for 10,000 years 🥺 Putt putt (has been on the moon 5 minutes): oh here ya go here’s a picture.. 😂😂
I remember playing "Putt-Putt Travels Though Time" as a kid, and I had a blast. I also wasn't sure what the sign at the beginning of said game was all about until I realized it was connected to the events of this game.
Guess I'll share my story: 17, had a Windows 95 growing up and when I was little, found this game In the game bin at Salvation Army. Thing was, everything was black and white and didn't run real well. Either bad copy or bootleg. Anyways, glad to come back to see what I could've played
Oh how I miss my early childhood back when I played this game. I wish these games would work on modern computers today so I could play them all over again.
That's the MS-DOS version. It used MIDI music, which meant they couldn't get lyrics. I have a walkthrough of that version on Legoking831 if you want to see it.
For the color thing -- you need to drink the same soda three times or else it won't work. For the maze -- run the game in 256 color mode, it glitches out like that if you don't.
If I'm not mistaken, Scott Burns voices Mr. Firebird and Rover. Doesn't seem to surprise me, as he's done TONS of voices for Humongous. (Fatty Bear, Mr. Baldini, Smokey the Fire Engine, Eddie the Eel, Walter Wireless, etc.)
The part where he falls in the moon goo used to scare me so much as a kid for some reason. Something about the music and his sudden expression of worry.
On the contrary, at least for some. I'm 14, and I grew up with these games. Pajama Sam, Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, etc. I would slap someone in the face if I saw them throw one of these games in the trash. I even still have all my old discs. Although I am probably the only one my age who remember these, because I only had a Windows ME computer when I was little so there wasn't much to play... But I still love them nonetheless.
It's definitely a catalyst, but it's more like a prototype to me. I assume the game series was inspired by Brum, a UK TV series made by Ragdoll Productions.
@Hondo20132 Yeah, something else I found weird: when you click on the radio enough times, the announcer will say he found a "small purple dot" on the moon. Even after you change your color, he still calls it a small purple dot.
The soda place was my favorite place to go, dude it's so nostalgic 😅 it's midnight where I am and I couldn't sleep without closure so I looked it up to find it 😌
@wileyk209zback The MS-DOS version is kept on the disc in a folder called DOSGAME I believe. You can actually get the DOS version working in ScummVM, complete with midi music and yellow cursor.
yep i never noticed that either back when i played this, until you pointed it out when i saw this comment sometime last year lmao 😄😅😄😁😮 and also its been years since i last played this game 😳 haha
I believe that this is the 1998 re-release. In my 1995 re-release of this game, when Putt Putt drinks the chemicals he only changes colour for a moment, then goes back to purple. Also the audio is a lot better on this version.
I played this as a kid, long enough ego I don’t really clearly remember all of it, but the one thing that strikes me: holy shit this is creepy. Terrifying even. What on earth
God, I loved this game so much when I was a little kid. Between Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver 1, 2, and there was a math game for the 95 that I loved too. Forgot the name of the last one sadly.
@TheMickiRae My Timeline: Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, Putt-Putt Joins the Circus, Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon, Putt-Putt Travels Through Time & Putt-Putt Enters the Race.
My younger brother (he couldn't have been more than three or four) got onto our sound program on our 1990's computer after we played this game and said some of the lines, and enunciating in odd places. The best part is when (he pronounced "W" for "R") he said, "I hope you're all wiiight!"
Drink the same soda three times to get him to change. Also, there is no such 1998 version. This is on the Humongous Classics Collection, which was made in 1997. And I seriously can't see how you could get worse than 11 KHz audio.
