Sad thing is, those OHC Honda's are one of the worst, small engines ever made..LOL..(along with the Kohler Triad OHC coming in as the 2nd worst small engine ever made)
Preston Fleming i too am older as well, but i still have a huge soft spot for older Hondas between the 80s & early to mid 90s. specifically CA, & CB series accords. would love another 89 SE-i accord
Its great to see to civic on coming together again! Make sure you change the fluid in that trans. pressure washing could have forced water thru the vent.
damn ive been gone for a week and your almost 16k subz good shit bro i use the same twin disk ..make sure you run a pedal stopper behind clutch pedal you dont wanna engage pedal any futher down then when it releases. .i went to a hill and put it in gear an press the clutch down just till car rolls an thats where u want it at ..otherwise u ware the pressure plate without the stopper
yo boostedboiz did you have any trouble with starting the car bc of the flywheel? and what kind of noise was it making bc i have some weird noise going on there and im leaning more towards the input shaft bearing.
I doubt he had to weld. shit, always remember hondas are like interchangeable lego cars for real almost any motor an tranny will fit anything some how some way altho im sure there are some models and engines that are akward maybe the h22 is but I doubt it, its prob super easy to swap like B or K series.
Stating the brand and where you sourced the part would be extremely helpful. Putting a link in the description to the actual site you sourced the part!
Pro tip - ....After cleaning off all of the preservative oil with brake cleaner, spray the unit with water and let it sit in the sun for 10-15 minutes...signs of surface rust should immediately begin to appear in that time frame...if it's not showing any surface rust, then you still have oil on it.....repeat cleaning process to make sure ALL oil is cleaned off of your mating surfaces.....same process for preparing new brake rotors too as that anti-rust agent is the death of a clutch(or brake pads)
Houston Is My City Fair enough, but is it actually that much faster, paddle clutches are designed for quick gear changes. Im only saying that cause it's usually cheaper but I dunno how expensive they are for old civics anyway lol
btw that twin disc is gonna have some mean sounding rattle when you depress it and such, dont worry though, its perfectly normal. Ive worked on a ton of twin discs and they all rattle mean from the clutches.
Houston Is My City exactly right. I installed a twin disc setup on my 95 Z71 when i converted it to an NV4500. i thought it was messed up, but it cleared up once broken in
Houston Is My City thats cool. i got into cars at like 6, by the time i was 10, i was doing minor repairs on neighbors cars (plugs, oil changes etc) to make money. they thought it was the coolest thing ever that a young kid could do that stuff lol. now im 36. so i feel ya
