You see, the problem with PRX is that they just kept losing rounds instead of winning them and if they did win them I believe that they could have easily won champs which is why EG's run was not worthy.

i’m an eg fan but it’s easy to give them an asterisk because all 100t had to do was beat a 2-6 mibr for eg to not even qualify for champs

PRX lost the way they always lose. It’s not a game with the paper boys unless they’re throwing half the round and Alecks is doing a multi hit combo on his desk. Their style is to keep pushing the boundaries of valorant, and if they played it safer they might have won. But if they played safer, it wouldn’t have been the PRX we know and love ❤

EG run is so impressive because they have the most deep map pool in the tournament. They went the whole tourney without their best map fracture really shows a lot

22 Loud just being able to absolutely stomp on prime Optic will always be amazing to me. Like its not like optc even played bad loud was just sm better

here's a nitpick for the EG run: FNC lost to LOUD during lower round 3 because chronicle went -22, and if this didn't happen EG would face their kryptonite (FNC), and probably lose, making FNC/PRX the winner. Oh, and Boaster going -11 last map wasn't great either.

Big respect for the EG team for proving to everyone that they deserve to be a top contender in any major event. But my cope is that PRX had so much pressure to win this tournament: Something's first international event, Jing possibly playing for Paper Rex the last time, being the favorites of the tournament, and everyone else wanting to try harder to win the trophy for Jing instead of the "for fun" mentality. I think it had them playing a little bit off their game that finals, especially after the Bind loss. I think it's a pretty valid copium? T^T

During Masters Tokyo, OPTC basically disbanded into a petty NRG, LOUD has some drama, DRX had a stupid 6th man roster shenanigan, NAVI was just throwing for some reason with their comps, and PRX had no ilya. Imo it should be closer to C+, albeit FNC's crazy form.

I got many thoughts on a lot of these but one that still annoys me to this day is that gambit was WAY FUCKING BETTER than Acend and they lost. Im sorry. Im not even from EMEA, Im latino from NA and Im a huge Optic fan, but Idk how Gambit lost. To me Acend was actually just cNed and friends and Gambit were a complete roster, an absolute powerhouse. Am I the only one that thinks they were way better than Acend?

2022 LOUD champions is crazy good

The 2023 Champ grand final was really a truth serum that uncover how shallow PRX map pool is, as a PRX fan I kind of disappointed but on the other hand, PRX heavily rely on something and jingg to carry them through the playoffs so 9:10 are actually true in a sense that without something and jingg pop off, forsaken wins a couple 1v99, and mindfreak clutch their fuckup rounds for the 1000th times, PRX wouldn't be in the grand final in the first place.

As a malaysian, i loved the davai Malaysian joke lmfao. Also still feeling heart broken after nearly a week of prx losing the grand finals again with map veto advantage

It's a shame that Sentinels had to take two amazing players from Brazil and do absolutely nothing with them, Pancada and Sacy. Sentinels is the king of taking talented players and never letting them go. Tenz, Zekken, Sacy, Pancada, and arguably Sick. Absorbing NA talent wasn't enough for them, now they have to absorb BR talent as well. There's even talks of Aspas going into the vacuum that is Sentinels. If that happens I would feel very bad for BR.

PRX fan and my asterisk about the lotus game on prx vs eg is that eg's first 4 win rounds was not due to eg being more skilled but rather to prx choking/playing the round badly. If you look back at how they won the rounds then you can tell that prx was basically giving them free rounds which eventually led to an 'even' game.

i think something not having that experience of playing on a bigger stage beforehand is really the difference maker. if he was able to compete in tokyo he wouldn't be as nervous as he was in champs.

if you think about it prx actually won champions 2023 because jawgemo literally dropped like 80 kills on raze throughout the series and when have you ever seen jawgemo do something like that he was went from like top 3 razes in the world to a raze as if god descended from the heavens and breathed perfection into his soul and like prx got ecod so much by eg and if you think about it they win those rounds 99 times out of 100 so like you can take 4 rounds minimum off eg every map and give them to prx and when you think about that its really like prx 3-0d eg and like something just had a career low at champions like prx shouldve won 3-0 13-0 every map like its such a fluke that eg won at all like you know what i mean

For the 1st VCT masters I would also add that Liquid and Fnatic both had insane runs in playoffs, so the 2 best EMEA teams didn't qualify for the event (GMB and FPX). For the most recent Champions in LA you could also say that Fnatic only lost to Loud all tournament, if the bracket played out different they might have taken out EG but it's a big stretch.

Actual ranking- 2023 LA Champions (B+) EG were dominant but their run was not invincible. As we all know, the start of Americas was not the greatest for them but the momentum built and built and rolled throughout both international events. A miracle did occur SOMEHOW with 100 Throws losing to MIBR and giving EG the 3rd slot as Americas representatives in masters. (Demon1 figuring out his visa situationwas also lucky) While them qualitying for masters does not directly impact their chances of winning Champs, i do believe the experience of playing ang getting accustomed to all the other teams playstyles did help. In champs, they were playing very well. While they did have a close seriee with a number of teams in the later stages of playoffs, including a loss to their grand finals opponent PRX in uppers, EG came back with a fury and everyone showed up when it was needed. -sincerly, a VCT viewer

PRX… to my knowledge, hasn’t try-harded a single game of Valorant thus far and probably never will, until of course Jingg and forsaken return from military service and they decide to cut the bullshit. FPX not being able to play due to visa issues is such a big thing that happens. The Philippine team, BREN Esports was supposed to play in Berlin but for some reason our government did not want to give them visas. It's such a big problem that other players and teams experience and I wish something could be done about it in the future. It's such an unfortunate thing for teams who deserve to play don't get to because of things out of their control.

Another asterisk to add to Masters tokyo is FNCs win in the semi finals. EG brought it back 12-11 on the last map and on the final round threw a numbers advantage and proceeded to lose a 2 v 1 with less than a sec left on the clock. If it had went 12-12 overtime EG may have won, gone upper bracket and changed the map pick advantage in the finals. FNC deserved the win, but as you said, "what if?" 💀

The FPX asterisk could have been that breeze map. PRX decided to play an extremely troll comp with no viper and only astra. This was map 5 too

when u talked abt prx something not making it to tokyo, i can say smth similar about demon1. he was jetlagged and he didnt show up at this tournament. eg wouldve won and not dropped a map if demon1 wasnt jetlagged and has visa issues. prx still got third in that tournament which was impressive

Lakia wasn't new to Masters, rather he was new to the Vision Strikers roster. He has already played in Masters: Reykjavik 1 with Nuturn, although it was kinda questionable for VS to throw him in a match that important not having the proper synergy buildup with his teammates.

As a PRX and 100T fan I one hundo percent blame it on 100T for failing to secure playoffs. Which allowed EG to secure a spot. So really EG should've never been in contention to win champs even tho they worked really hard and demon1 being a super cracked aimer. Hence the true timeline should be VCT Grand Finals 100T vs PRX with both of them winning it in a tie and then giving to Kangkang bc for the next five years china will be dominating vct for realz.

W for the words in the Ascend win. They didn't deserved to win this champs. Keyd stars was injusticed in this tournament.

It was a great analysis on why no team deserved it, but fpx go through with two different subs until shao and suygetsu made it in the lower bracket which is even harder than any other team that won a championship, maybe not harder than eg.

entertaining video but one thing lakia wasn't completely new to masters since he was playing on nuturn in the first masters in iceland but regardless still good fun video also one more about the acend vs vk thing, the ruling was actually fairly lenient on vk since similar stuff in the past has always resulted in a dq but since the acend players were getting a lot of threats and riot got a lot of backlash from the brazilian fans riot changed the ruling to just give acend an advantage of how many rounds the bug was used instead

I am from South Asia and therefore would say that PRX was my favorite coming in to the champs. But when looking at the journey of EG and how they managed to overcome all hatred and win the tournament, I believe that we should congratulate them as a community and wish good luck❤

I'm a PRX fan but the paper boys, in my opinion, didn't actually grow up. They still play the same style. Yes, given it is more polished now but in a tournament like champs, it is easily exploitable. I mean, all EG had to do in every map is to wait for the PRX aggression to come to them until there is only 40 or less seconds left in a round before they execute. The same strategy that FPX did to them. The paper boys' hands are too itchy to make a move instead of waiting and holding their ground. This is inevitable in a team with no real IGL and consists of only young talents. They mesh well together, we can see that, but when every one just gives their own calls in every round, everything, will literally go to chaos including themselves. Sure, the team itself benefited in this chaos but it is, and will always be, a double edge dagger. They are still "boys". They need at least one "man" (i meansome one with long experience and calm mind) in the team so that he can give the whole team some common sense when the phase of the game isn't chaotic that is not favorable to them.

I love that we spent 9 minutes of our lives waiting for the punchline just for the whole premise of the video to be disproven in 15 seconds. Anyways (ignore my PRX cope), to redo 9:01 , the timing was just bad. With jinggg's deployment so soon and PRX knowing this tournament was their last with him, the pressure got to these five players and they started making clear mistakes: overpushing, overheating, not clearing basic corners (basic for a pro ofc), and overall missing shots that their normal insane form could hit. If we could redo the PRX v EG match a year before jinggg went to the military, PRX clears 3-0 (jk, itll be close). TBH, I can't really cope, EG won fair and square, but it's still tragic to think about.

EG winning champs had this major plothole of : - Somehow being allowed to sub in a player who was not announced in the 10 man roster orginally (wtf riot?) Them literally winning cuz the worst team in Americas managed to win against 100T in the worst choke I have ever seen. PRX players having to play without monitors (no cap trust me bro) PRX players having 100 ping (no cap trust me bro)

problem with prx is depending on super talents. The team has insane aimers, but lacks discipline, and they also depend way too much on their most stupid and ilogical ideas somehow working. That makes a team that has ridiculous moments of god tier performance, but never reaches the consistancy they need to win anything. And honestly, EG is kanda same. Let's see how they perform with all the ligths on them.

I really think that if you wanted to, you could also use the jank format as an asterisk on Gambits 2021 win. They lost in the group stage to 100T, and then because of the format, 100T lost to prime yay having one of his best sets. Obviously still an impressive run, and worthy of the title, but they didnt have to win against that many top tier teams to win the tourney. EDIT: also Acend got 7 ROUNDS, not 5. Really dumb decision and the match should not have finished if Riot was so against the camera.
