So hilariously, Stainless + Puzzle can allow you to print enough DP to sustain 2 Merchants deployed on the field and still go into positive values for the entire duration of the battle. This was tested on an Annihilation.
@@MultiDante333 I think you forgot Vigil's existance in that video. Even though normally he is indeed negligible, his whopping 2 dp is helping puzzle here.
He had more consistent dp susteinance than flagbearer. But he lack dp burst which cantabile and flagbearer excel in. For longer stage he might be useful but for shorter stage with only small amount of operator needed, he wasnt neccessary.
Very good point. One thing I will say is that despite a slight DP disadvantage compared to flagbearer, you're comparing an operator capable of defending a lane to a flagbearer that does absolutely nothing but generate DP.
Its worth noting that his S2's DoT effect snapshots his ATK at the time of applying it seems, so any ATK buffs applied to the DoT will affect the damage even if Puzzle leaves the field. Has nearly the same redeploy time as Skalter's seaborn summon too which makes her an excellent synergy partner.
Myrtle also good for him because of her talent helps puzzle's durability wherever and when he's collecting dp with his offensive recovery on early enemies, it's my strategy to have him playing with meh 🙂
I like his S1 and Stainless S3 together. Normally you would say "no" to this combination + opt for Myrtle, but some stages (e.g. Annih stages) start you off with 50 DP. You can earn it right back (even outpace Myrtle) & focus solely on deploying your operators while he passively generates the DP for you. Bagpipe would usually eat that team slot as a helidropper, but Stainless being on the frontlines helping with DP generation & with body-blocking / supporting other units is a pretty nice addition
Nice video. If you have Cantabile built you don’t need to build him unless you like him. But if you don’t have Cantabile then I’d recommend building him.
You forgot to mention the other synergy with stainless. Everyone talks about his s1 with stainless s3 but his s2 poison with stainless s3 is really good at proccing the turrets consistently
In the Rhine Anni, those 2 mechs down bottom right he can farm dp off of pretty well with S1, and frees you up to bring more ops to play around with, ex: I brought him and Vigil and they alone more than effectively provides all the dp I needed and then some
well, puzzle can be really good, his poison and overall skills can be used in great handy, but i feel myself using Cantabile more since her S1 is good for helidropping (i often drop her on high def/hp enemies to generate a good amount of DP) and her S2 is good for things like annihilations, or putting her behind someone. puzzle definitely has potential, but she's just a bit better in my eyes
Basically he has a ridiculous long-term DP production but Flagpipe isn't exactly considered good because of their long-term DP gain now is it? It's good because you can throw myrtle down and deploy Mudrock like 2 seconds into a stage. But really the "it's not flagpipe" argument applies to literally every single vanguard. If you're playing w/o flagpipe, I'd say puzzle is on the higher % of Vanguards in terms of versatility and DP Generation, second to the likes of Saga (Has an edge over him with her skills and SP battery shenanigans) and Cantabile (Better burst under similar conditions, provided you're not using stainless). Stainless + Puzzle I'm pretty sure has THE single highest long term DP production in the entire game at a permanent full afk 1/second scaling higher with any ASPD buffs, but like you mentioned it costs 35 DP. It's better than it looks because you also have a whole stainless and his turrets to make use of throughout the map, but don't raise him expecting that he'll be outproducing myrtle in every stage. What really matters is that, independent of his kit, Agent is just an extremely strong branch? Great ASPD, just enough offensive stats to pull shenanigans, fast redeploy, DP generation and generally good skills. Also he just has one of the single best clue skills in the game and since he's a 5* he gets a lot of passive clue speed just by existing. I'd personally bump him to like an 8/10, with the asterisk that "Just remember that Cantabile is like ~9/10 sooooo y'know". Mumu is an anomaly I do not like comparing her to other vanguards so do NOT-
from my experience, agents just aren't that good as an archetype. sure, they can gen dp, but flagbearers gen more. they can do early defense but charger vanguard can do it too. they can hit flying enemies but with that pitiful 3 tile range, it's better to use tactitians or anti air snipers. they can redeploy faster but it's still double the length of any given executor. the issue is that they role compress roles that really don't need compressing, all the outstanding members of each of those archetypes stood out because they built *into* their role (think myrtle, bagpipe, exu, texalter, etc.) because being able to do a little but of everything means that the only time you'll be used is if the player needs someone that can do everything.
i won't say he is bad but, there are some better option in this archtype for example cantabile or ines who can do more demage and more consistent on dp print
Puzzile might be ok, but I got m6 cantabile beforehand so... And yes, camo on her s2 is sooooo good, so I don't think I want some bits of arts when I have this
I wonder if he regenerates more sp from the evading durins in Ideal City or the evading enemies in Stultifera Navis or the enemies with 1 hit block shield in Dorothy's Vision.
I raised puzzle, he kinda sucks for DP, but yeah he's a bit slower fast redeploy that doesn't really eat into your DP so he's DP neutral and can apply arts damage to specific targets usually safely, from ground tiles. as a DP generator no he's not competing with myrtle. but he does enough arts damage to take down something annoying like a defense crusher waiting outside your teams field of view.
I’m sorry abjurers aren’t completely bad on paper it’s just Tsukinogi makes up a quarter of the branch and also another quarter is a healer first and an abjurer second and also they’re just inherently weaker because of what their design focuses on. So not bad, bad with ✨copium ✨. Realistically speaking baseline there’s really only one huge problem with Abjurers as a branch it’s just Tsukinogi exists and is a notable portion of the abjurer population.
Uhh, just want to add this as a side note as it seems you haven't welcomed the cult of agent vanguards, but Cantabile is objectively better than Myrtle. Generally there's a good flux of enemies at the start of maps to allow her to attack constantly and generate DP, which is more than Myrtle. And for later game, she literally has the same damage as Phantom S2 lol. Since they've been released, both Ines and Cantabile have been used in every max risk for CC/POO, I'd highly recommend giving em a go as you most probably have Cantabile P6. The only reason Puzzle pales in comparison is cause he's compared to them two, I'd probably argue they're the best vanguard subclass in the game, as they benefit just as much as Bagpipe but have a ton more versatility/debuffs, with the exception obv being Saileach.
If you're just started and don't have a good roster yet, yes. Kaltsit is an strong, versatile carry. The upcoming event banner has strong units, but they're not newbie friendly.
