PVC Improvised Survival Bow Build Tutorial

I have a series of Shorts on a simple no heat improvised PVC Survival Bow. I am continuously asked for a tutorial. I didn't think it was needed, but here it is. There are better options, but this is quick and easy to make with minimal tools.

This reminds me of what Backyard Bowyer used to do but in these simple ones I remember he put a piece of dowling wrapped in duck tape inside the grip area to prevent the pvc from kinking.

When I was young I learned to shoot on something like this, and have gotten decent accuracy. I went to a ren fest this year and did the bow game and shot so many balloons. They actually had proper bows and it was so much easier to aim haha

What bow would I need to take down a 200 kilo wild boar. Here in Australia, hard to have gun here. I thinking I going need to learn to hunt. I guess the main animals to hunt here would be wild goat wild pig kangaroo and deer. Cheers Graham

A 45lb bow will work for hog. Shot placement is critical.

How about #36 tarred bank line for a bow string?

Double it. It's strong enough, but it's too small for a commercial nock. #72 bankline is perfect. I've used it in other videos, but paracord is more common.

I'll make a video on it. A real bow string would be a Flemish Twist B50 string. It's not hard to do but you'll have to order the material.

cut the pipe to 46 n you ll have a 45lb bow at 28inch draw. I make these with flat limbs.. Not toys..

This is a simple no heat design. Flat limbs are better

At 46" long, these are actually the best no-heat bows as the high draw weight compared to size and weight make them nearly as quick as a tapered bow of the same draw weight (which would be longer and have more mass). I highly suggest the hammer test as this is pushing the limit of PVC at under 48". Paired with an archery release, these are very fast. Add a 4 rod tapered bundle and you'll be in the 70# range.
