PvP ARENA AFTER ELDEN RING DLC IS STUPID

i reckon the real nerf is a talisman slot. blasphemous blade/magma curved has the magma boost talisman, katana's rellana's, got 2 handed,... at least my impression of the idea

There is a problem in my country in the store to buy the dlc, soy I have to wait a week. I'm playing with base game vs dlc gamers. It's just impossible, even using the ultra meta

Definitely so that alot of base game things are toned down so that people will want to buy DLC for 'better' content

⁠@@Nicoooooooo5557doesn’t help that a lot of meta stuff got nerfed I bet, the final dlc boss drops an incant that is legit just a mini nuke and it casts pretty quick and does insane damage even without real buffs, I used it with 80 faith and +10 erdtree and did like 1800+ when I tested it on the giants near war master shack, there’s also a minor aoe afterwards that does decent dmg too but the giants never lives long enough for me to get a good read on it

True. It’s so troublesome that it now permanently occupies the second right hand slot. As soon as I see someone use it, i immediately swap weapons cause it is too unfair to fight against that ash of war.

It's just the start of the DLC, eventually they will patch everything and it will return to a similar state as it was before. Of course, without a 6 limit players.

It’s not really their fault though PVP isn’t the primary focus point in their games it’s secondary. It’s an after thought not their fault players are toxic.

Every CAN carry that much. All they’re doing is swapping to them. It’s all in your inventory

I think the main concern is, anyone can pull anything at any time so the game devolves into a loop of "let me swap to something that counters the thing my opponent just swapped to" for the 12th time this match. Equipment choice doesn't mean anything as you don't have to commit to any choice.

Yeah, that’s the number one reason I don’t play Elden ring that much,it’s a severely unbalanced game. If you bring the wrong weapon to a fight, that’s not my fault. I stopped playing because some of these big name RU-vidrs would go up against me in a fight and then change their entire kit during a fight and poke me behind a shield and a spear, what absolute cowards

Maybe a 10 second pause to your menu or something would be reasonable to stop the swap every few seconds. My problem with this idea is the game becomes rock paper scissors and really changes how the skill ceiling works in a game like this where skill is determined by other things than " I can beat you with the worst character or something". Getting rid of swapping all together ruins a critical thing that keeps pvp interesting for people that play it often. If you can't enjoy it or understand that you can be unhappy with it. It wont change though. Look at fortnite, people complain they hate this or want this back. They get it, but it immediately is brought back with stuff that disappoints. Hence why i disliked it complained then left.

I haven’t come across either of those thankfully, but I did come across several lightning perfumers and some rellana dual sword spammer/enjoyers, also plenty of rivers of blood/blasphemous blade/moonveil aow spammers so the more things change the more they stay the same lol

@@kvassier Offhand thrusting swords just got fixed, we can't bring that shit back. If you wanna "fix" Poise, you gotta have _some_ kind of Poise, not none at all. A rework sounds much better, if weapons were based on a "x hits to break stagger" system from the ground up instead of having Poise values. A system like "X weapons break you in 1 hit, Y weapons take 2 hits, Z weapons take 3, a combination of 1 Y weapon hit + 2 Z weapon hits will break you, etc." would be ideal, but that would be such a massive change to implement into a game that already exists, maybe that could work in a future game, but Elden Ring probably isn't getting that treatment

What omega is talking about is that the “y and z” weapons, to borrow your phrasing, are rendered ineffective because of their inability to break poise in 1hit. Your suggestion helps with accessibility for new players since they don’t have to worry about poise values or armor swapping. But it doesn’t make the weapons any more viable in a competitive environment.

I mean I wanna run rapier and main gauche or a single broadsword or danes footwork and just not have people ignore the attacks (I even got poise backstabbed using footwork after spacing a sham build) DS3 really was the ideal for how poise should work. (Hyper armor only)

I’m loving the chaos, I invade, drop a miquella mini nuke, die, and repeat, sometimes I win sometimes I lose, sure I get angry at gankers just squatting one area farming invaders but I do get some decent fun pvp now and again

Idk if that means their aware of the state of pvp but won't nerf things until the last moment or they are trolling us like crazy. Whatever it is I gave up on pvp after seeing what the dlc brought.

@@branflakes115 i couldn't care less about your opinion considering people share mine but let me explain it to you so you can better understand. using cheat engine to make impossible builds is cheating xD. itd be like using a normal pokemon team against someone who hacked in all his perfect stat pokemon. not everyone can have 7 weapons plus 25 and all the best weapon arts and gear on one account. it'll take days. weeks even to get an account with that much gear in an honest way. sure hes more skilled then them.. but is that any excuse to literally use programs like cheat engine or wemod? fromsoftware literally bans you if you use them online. as a normal honest player playing the game casually, you're at a huge disadvantage against someone with infinite starlight shards, infinite meat dumplings, infinite crafting resources, a weapon for any situation and all the best talismans. i see people try and justify cheating with "oh but ganks are unfair. ganks are lame" I agree but that doesn't justify using unfair methods to give yourself a giga boosted account. its a PVP game. dont justify cheating just because its not a balanced pvp game.

You can't get all the duplicates he had in one playthrough, but you don't need all that to effectively swap mid-fight. All cheat engine does is bypass the 40 or more hours it would have taken to get gear in pve. Anyone can swap mid-fight, complaining about that indicates a skill gap.

@@branflakes115 have you ever tried to farm golem great arrows? sounds like youre justifying the usage of a cheating software to make the pvp easier. most communities see that as cheating. trying to make an honest invasion build is a lot harder than these guys literally cheating all the advantages in. yes it takes 40 plus hours to farm all that stuff help maybe itll take a week but thats to balance the game. when an invader runs away and starts shooting golem great arrows at me i cant really shoot them back. when im level 30 getting invaded in storm veil by a guy using madness stones and warming stones and starlight shards it feels pretty unfair. using cheat engine is a slippery slope. is it not cheating to use it to get maxed out flasks in low level invasions. i understand in this particular video he didint use anything you cant get in more then one playthrough but generally hes spamming these items in every invasion like theyre free. thats not a luxury most hosts have and thats pretty unfair that i have to farm all this stuff when people like him just cheat it in and keep on coming into my world. why cant i be an honest player and not be at a disadvantage

Just make it so you can only swap out currently put away slots. That way you still have to press the left or right arrow to switch to the weapons. No skipping the animation.

Unfortunately, it only takes a few bad eggs to mess up the general perception. Also the incredible degree to which they are broken kind of eclipses everything.

Duelling shield is also completely busted. The Fire Knight's Greatsword in its current broken implementation is really OP, the throwing dagger ash of war can be pretty annoying and some of the spells are also pretty busted. You also have the perfume bottles which are completely broken and a lot of the ashes of war which are also completely busted. This is far worse than the game was before the DLC. I think they didn't give any consideration to how the DLC weapons would act in PVP. (Also forgot about the people who spam all of the new madness items or the sleep shotgun crossbow.)

@@102ndsmirnov7 Duelling shield is busted in PVE, not in PvP, you can counter it in a multitude of ways. Fire Knights is strong, but has a unique schtick. A true, light combo, dont trade with it an you'll win. like quite frankly no, the only really broken stuff is Swift Slash and Blind Spot. People complaining about other stuff is skill issue. Some stuff could do with tracking tweaks at the most. Otherwise personally, i think this is the most interesting and deep souls combat has ever been.
