This was meant to be a VERY basic and simple quick guide showing off a decently balanced team on top of explaining a FEW team building mechanics. A proper team building video would be an extremely long and detailed task, one id like to take on in the future, but rn i simply dont have the time but its requested so much. So i thought i could upload SOMETHING and help some people at least a little. I hope this helped you a little!

Thanks for the video. Definitely gave me a broader understanding of the pokemmo pvp team building. What I'd like to see more information on is how to build synergy through your team. You explained how the booffalant and quagsire worked together, but I don't fully understand how you picked the others to synergize with them.

Pokemon Showdown is the best way to PVP without needing to take the time to breed the perfect team in game. Now after spending years on there, and only recently finding PokeMMO i look forward to using my PVP knowledge to actually breed and grow a team

This is a great video! Just wondering, how hard is it to find matches for UU and NU? I'm really interested in building a UU team mostly because I love Hitmonchan but when I look at the spectate menu there aren't many UU matches going on. How long does it typically take you to find matches in the non-OU tiers of battle?
@patrouski
@patrouski 2 года назад
i usually find an NU match within 2 queues 99% of the time, so like 1-4 minutes, i cant say much for UU as i haven’t played it in a long time

Hii! I really have a crazy set in mind and already have the perfect pokemon for it, but it basically goes against all the common use of the pokemon (like going for a speedy tank to outspeed a certain pokemon). Is it worth a try or the pvp is too square and rules?

Triangle defense. Bad matchup, switch. In until the next. Bad match up, switch. In until the next. The key-- get an unexpected match up win. Destiny bond. Explosion. Self-destruct. Perish song. When their triangle is broken, you should be capable of winning.

What makes a pokemon be a good lead? Is it pokes that cna be bulky and set up rocks/spikes or fast killing pokes? Or can it be both depending on the other teams pokes?
@patrouski
@patrouski 2 года назад
Ye it can be both depending on the team comp, a good lead is usual versatile, a bad lead would be something like machamp, very slow, no access to u-turn, rocks or other setting utility, can only do damage. So machamp is an example of a pokémon you would keep in the back until hes in a position to clean up

What do you mean by the " CORE " in the team ? And "Off wall " ? And thank you for this helpful video
@patrouski
@patrouski 2 года назад
Great questions, by core im referring to the 2 pokémon at which u start ur team around and mostly base your strategy around, you usually want some sort of powerful interaction between them if possible like the quagsire bait + sap sipper bouffalant example in this video. Off tank is usually referring to a bulky pokémon with maybe 1 or 2 attacking moves that isn’t quite a tank or wall but isn’t a bulky attacker, some examples being miltank, claydol and walrein sometimes. Hope this answers some questions :)

Hey for example right now I have: charizard, alakazam, gyarados, scizor(they are speed yes?) golem(wall?) and nidoking(core? with offensive skills) Im thinking right? Im not gonna use that on rankeds for sure cuz its mixed tiers but Im just asking overall. Thank you ! :D
@waniszwanisz8616
@waniszwanisz8616 2 года назад
Or its alakazam speed dmg and charizard,gyarados/nidoking core?
@patrouski
@patrouski 2 года назад
Theres a lot of things to break down here, first id start off by separating the damage dealing pokemon in 2 categories, immediate impacters (meant to come in and do huge damage until forced out) and Setup sweepers (come in later in the game when the time is right to set up and sweep thru the rest of the opposing team) Charizard & alakazam are good examples of immediate impact damage dealers, meant to come in and immediately impact the field and do huge damage, nidoking is a very flexible mon that could also be lumped into this group but also be considered core just depending on ur build. Scizor and golem are both great examles of walls that can also dish out damage, id consider them both off-tanks or off-walls. So on this team id break it down as alakazam and charizard being your sweepers/damage dealers, gyrados + nidoking being your core (for a ton of reasons, they have a suprising amount of typing synergy. Gyrados is 4x weak to electric which u can switch into nidoking to absorb as a ground type mon + switch to gyarados on any Earthquakes aimed at nidoking) scizor and golem end up being ur walls/tanks. Hope this in depth analysis was to ur liking :) let me know if u have any questions.

@waniszwanisz8616 2 года назад
@@patrouski Wow thank you very much your answer was so comprehensive for me! Another question is whats the best tier for someone whos starting ranked and dont have yet 5x31 from breeding or have just one? I havent seen on your channel and youtube to much vidoes about tiers, it would be awesome if you make one :D Im thinking about UU and use snorlax as a wall maybe and alakazam as a fast sweeper? Or NU with my golem as a wall and nidoking as a core. Its hard to decide whats best for the start :D or maybe just double. Thank you for the answer!!
@waniszwanisz8616

@@patrouski And if we take scizor as a wall then skills like :sword dance, superpower, bullet punch and bug bite would be good? :D
@patrouski
@patrouski 2 года назад
@@waniszwanisz8616 i definately think OU is the best structured tier for new players, it has the most players and your average OU player is just gonna be at a lower skill level than ur average NU player, people who choose to play NU or UU are usually more curated and truly know what they are doing, most players that try to start pvp in UU or NU will get forever obliterated by veterans
