Tony is so unknown outside the guitar world. The rest of the world doesn't know that he's actually probably the greatest guitar ever.

I always like Tony's playing since the late 80's he can shred but he also has some great melodies which a lot of newer players forget

I love how this guy holds back his punches soo much but still manages to sound breathtaking. That is real skill.

I met MacAlpine listening Planet X and my life has changed. I also really loved the works Devil's Slingshot, Seven The Hardway but mainly Ring Of Fire. MacAlpine's best solo album is Master Of Paradise. The first time I listened to MacAlpine I couldn't define how it did sounds, but today I say it sounds so MacAlpine. Great Job, man. God bless you!

a true master of the electric guitar....all these modulations and passages blow my mind, yet everything is held together by strong and memorable themes. And it's all played with masterful and natural technique, and lots of soul and feeling.

Macalpine doing the unfinished Vai work with the 7 strings guitar because thank to Vai now we have 7 strings guitar Ibanez but he only recorded a few tracks not a full record studio like Tony he take the torch of the 7 and 8 strings guitar keep rocking the 7 and 8 strings guitar Tony !!!

Soooo glad to see Tony still pushing music into new realms. It bothered me a bit to see him being behind Vai, I'm sure it was a good gig to have it's just that Tony's playing and compositional abilities far surpass those of Steve! I have been a fan of T Mac since I first heard Edge of Insanity as a 16 year old kid in 1985, any doubters just check Maximum Security! Far and away the most spectacular guitar album ever recorded, period. Violent Machine, Chromaticity, and more...nice work here T!!!

Tony is the reason why I wanna buy a 7 strings guitar with tremolo and I said with tremolo because the hole 7 strings guitar have fixed bridge and I don’t like it because on this case a les Paul 7 strings guitar is the choice . But I love Tony music from the 6 strings guitars days 1986 to the present and his works with Planet X , Ring of fire his collaborations with mark boals ( some 7 strings guitar songs ) really makes me picks the guitar not the typical petrucci Dream T . Stuff are great songs specially the riffs but DT is bored , Planet X is so far better and a huge inspiration to pick the 7 and 8 strings guitar but more the 7 strings because is more affordable and is difficult find a 8 strings guitar with tremolo ( schecter makes this guitar with Floyd but are too expensive ). Then I wanna buy a Ibanez 7 strings guitar the model GRX720 with a standard tremolo not Floyd because I don’t have a 7 string guitar only I have a Ibanez GRx 20 the Gio series with standard tremolo , 2 humbuckers and 22 frets

he's my favorite guitar player ever (and i know a few)...maximum security an edge of insanity are the best instrumental guitar records ever made in my opinion....you would provably ask what about satiani, vai, malmsteen, petrucci, gilbert...and you know what? i love them too, but tony has that "je nai sai quois" with his music that i cant just get enough!...go tony let me enjoy your music for centuries to come...and he can also play a mean piano/keyboard too! thats a plus!

Ok, let me take a minute to make amends for a couple of things. I didn't mean to turn this into a Vai bashing or to take the focus off of Tony's vid, besides Steve's probably a friend of Tony's! I just think Tony is a great musician and I like him better when he's playing his own music. To be fair, I have not listened to EVERYTHING Vai has done, and I appreciate his abilities, I'm just not crazy about most of what I have heard, not saying he sucks, just not my cup of tea. I'm wrapping it up...

@captainflamson Wow, I strongly disagree with that...that's ok, it's your oppinion but Tender Surrender, For the Love of God, Whispering a Prayer, Blue Powder and so many more...I find them so musically beautiful and full of emotion. Vai is a genius. He writes some of the most creative artistic yet still listenable music I've ever heard. He's far from awful.
