I love your quarterly updates! I am strictly a functional planner in this season and it's so hard to find inspiration for functional planning on YT. Thank you for always reminding me that a good notebook can serve you really well for daily/weekly lists. I will be watching out for the 2023 Ashley Shelley planners to come out this fall. And I just ordered the 5 year journal to start this month as well. Thank you for always showing how these items all serve you in the season you are in and normalizing how freeing it can be to go between planners and notebooks at any given time!
Oh, Angela your comment means so much to me:) I am so happy that my videos help you in that way. I agree in the planner world functional planning is not seen very much on Instagram & RU-vid because it's not as pretty. I think that is a shame and I love seeing how others functional plan too! Have a good week:)
Love these updates, Amanda! I've been in my EC vertical all academic year. I'm kind of shocked! It's what I used for 10 years and then 2020 tried all the planners and I have stuck with it all year. I have my GC for work, that I love, and I am thinking of moving into that for my next academic planner. It seems to have a bit more room and I can customize it a bit more, although I'm like you and love the color and the familiarity of the EC. So we'll see! I am still loving my Planner Perfect, but I'm feeling a tug to move away from it from my daily planning, and maybe do more memory planning. We just seem to have SO much going on right now with work, kids, life, etc. that I need a bit more structure. So...I ordered a 2022 Day Designer {played around with their daily layout for a bit} and I'm loving it right now for just keeping me on track daily. Too many planners, but they all serve a purpose!! HA! Thanks for all you share!
Thanks for watching and taking time to share your line up Gina:) I can so relate to those feelings about EC and still loving GC. and good for you for trying the Day Designer for a different season:)
I did announce on Instagram (easy to miss)- that we won't be doing quarterly updates with her. Maybe she will do a quick update for me to post on Instagram. But I will try to have her do a stack video every year to show what she plans to use. Thanks for letting me know you want to see her again. She's going through a really busy time in life and making a video takes a chunk of time.
It's always fun to watch your quarterly videos! I wish EC would make an ⅓-page vertical with the bottom being two columns of lists. I also have been drawing my planner out like you tried during the month. I'm like you, I want to see my appointments and big projects across the top of the page. I also add my icon stickers to note which workout I did that day. On the bottom I kept my weekly list and a little habit tracker. I'm playing with having one weekend box but may end up stacking them.
I agree with you on the EC layout Judy! I have thought they needed a layout like that for years! I love hearing how you are drawing out your weeks to be exactly what you need!
I love, love, love to watch your quarterly videos (and others, of course). 🤗 I enjoy listening to your thought processes. TFS! Have a great week! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Amanda :-) thank you for the video. I always love your videos! I’m actually in the passionate penny pincher home planner now. I have really been loving this planner, because it guides/directs me in getting my home 🏡 tasks done. I am also working through power sheets. And because it’s the same coil as the power sheets, I have my tending list for March in here with me. The PPP planner has a beautiful color scheme throughout it.
Hi Anna:) Thanks for sharing your thoughts and that you are loving your PPP and the colors;) I love how your Powersheets are working well side by side with that!
These quarterly updates are some of my favorite videos that you do on your channel. I can completely understand how you are feeling with your daily/weekly planning, and that you are having a hard time figuring out where you want to land. That very feeling is why I am always switching planners so much. It has been hard for me to find my landing spot. BUT, I have been in my EC daily duo since the beginning of Feb, and I am still loving it so much! 😱 Sad to say, but that's a big deal! 😂 Logically, it shouldn't work for me because it has the times on the left side. But I have been able to work out a system where it is just working so, so well for me. (I'll have to send you a message showing you how I'm using it.) The bonus is that it is A5 size, has that amazing EC paper, and has the happy EC colors. I haven't been this happy in a planner in a long, long time and have no desire to switch...right now. 😂
I'm always excited for your quarterly planning updates. Can't wait to see your collab planner for 2023 with Ashley! I'm kind of so so of my weekly planners (catch all and work both are Happy Planners) but it's working. So there's no need to really change anything. Plus I'm still loving stickers and washi in my planners. So I have space for that and actual plans/to dos. Even I did want to switch, I have no idea what I would want to switch to LOL!!
Well that's good that you realize it's still working and loving your washi and stickers. I love your point that if you did switch you don't know what you would switch to! LOL
Sooo here is what I’m planning in even though I think you know. :) Work: Whitney English Daily Journal: JMBLiving journal Personal: was b6 stalogy April I am starting in a cut down to standard size Hobonichi cousin. I really can’t get away from Hobonichis. :)
Always love your updates! Still in my EC Daily Duo & Agenda 52 A5 rings for now. I may go with just the a5 rings in July but not 100% sure on that right now.
Love this video! I have been in an EC vertical all this (academic) year and love it but I think I’m going to switch to a Get to Work Book in July. It seems to have more versatility and room for weekly lists and I love the action item squares and monthly reflections (which I have been adding into my EC). I appreciate you showing the GC because I have considered that layout too. I just don’t think there is enough room!
Thanks for taking time to share your lineup and thoughts Jennifer:) I love Get to Work book also- I've never been in it permanently, but played in it a lot and love all the features you mentioned too!
Love the quarterly updates! Its such a struggle to let go of EC because I love the colors and paper. So I decided to use the monthly sections as my wall calander since the hourly layout I got didn't work for me. Also, I'm loving the Ashley Shelly collab monthly notebook and use it to track spending :)
Love your update videos. I’m still all-in on EC, including journaling in the soft bound notebook. My only uncertainty is whether my next planner will be vertical or horizontal. I purchased a discounted 2022 horizontal to experiment. Debating re-starting the PP subscription but just the accessories. I do miss getting some kind of sub box every month.
Great idea to try the other layout for EC at the big sale time! And the PP accessories box is a great option to still get that artwork monthly and a jolt of happy for the month ahead;)
I wonder if continuing to use the golden coil as your weekly and then an Erin Condren Daily would work for you? Since you mentioned still loving the Erin Condren so much...I use an Erin Condren hourly because I will always need my week at a glance, and then I purchased the daily duo as well. The combination has been total planner peace for me💛
That is a possibility that I have explored before....so maybe you will see me in that for the future?! Thanks for chiming in and sharing what works for you;)
Just ordered a. EC vertical weekly on sale. My current planner is Passionate Penny Pincher. I love the quality of it but it is horizontal and drives me crazy. r
I really use my planners to plan my life. I think it's kind of sad that much of the planner world makes us feel like we have to have a perfect looking planner. My life is far from looking that way and so is my planner;) Thanks for chiming in Stacy:)
