Great video, I agree 100% a suit with the right details can be broken up. I always considered the pockets, shoulder, fabric, and general structure; but, I never considered the edge stitching on the lapels. It's funny because it seems so obvious when you point it out, but a detail I never consciously thought about when thinking through purchasing/commissioning a suit where the jacket can stand on its own. Fantastic perspective, Mark! I was wondering, would it be possible to get a suit with buttons that are interchangeable (somewhat like with french cuffs and cuff links)? That way you would have one jacket with two (or even more) pairs of buttons: One more casual (sport jacket), one more formal (suit), etc.
FP is correct! We did not mean to insinuate that you would swap buttons between each wear. Rather changing the sewn on buttons can change the formality of a jacket. I.e. lighter buttons or mother of pearl being more casual, while dark horn can be more formal.
