As a long time road cyclist with my bike fit dialed in at this point, you videos still offer some good tips to gain even more comfort and power.. Much appreciated...

Great explanations. Love the quote and your honest assessment, as always

Suggestion: make a number of videos on the same case study. Video 1: a simple tweak, e.g. adjust cleats. Video 2: what the software shows us, e.g. R-L imbalance. Video: deeper software analysis. In other words, make 3 or 4 separate videos on the same bike fit, delving deeper and deeper.

+Todd Mansel I have. Trying to decide how to best organize it. And who to build it for? PTs? Non-clinical bike fitters? In my experience, bike fitters can be a squirrelly bunch.... Any thoughts?

With your new setup, would you do experiments like getting someone with a good fit then changing something to see what happens? Say just moving the cleats and seeing how it changes the reading throughout the fit. I'd guess it could throw up some interesting correlations between parts of the fit that wouldn't be as easy to spot without such detailed measurements.

+Dave Hughes yes, absolutely. I've been doing this type of experimenting for years with my old infrared system and have already done a few trials with the new setup. You're right...it's a great way to learn to tease out small discrepancies and get a better idea out associations.

What are your thoughts on peddle extensions.

Regarding: we live in an imperfect world. Absolutely. I recently tried to buy a new bike. I had three fitting sessions. When the bike arrived, it felt all wrong. They gave me my deposit back.

Question about finding the right coordinates for saddle position. I’m 5’10”/178cm with a 32”/81.5cm inseam and my Retul fitter helped me settle on a deep setback of 89mm (260mm S-Works Romin Evo) and relatively shallow saddle height of 717mm. With my preferred drop/reach, my back angle is around 37-38deg. The fitter says he favors a fit where glutes are activated a bit more at the top of the pedal stroke. My question is how do you know whether to put someone farther setback and lower vs less setback and with a higher saddle since various dynamic angles can change. Is it because I have an aggressive pelvic rotation that he put my saddle lower and farther back to keep my hips more “open?” I’ve since switched to an ISM PN 3.0 and lowered my saddle a little more to compensate.

Have you noticed a difference in fit when the person isn't pushing vs when they do push? Had a fit with the retul system with resistance provided by a computrainer that was off (very little resistance) and felt like my position wasn't the same as when i ride normally on my kickr. Seems like your new system takes care of one issue with the frame rate being so low I had to keep my cadence lower then my normal but still has the issue that if you sweat, the location points move. Have you dealt with this?

Was also thinking the method of attachment seems not the best for dealing with sweat. Using Velcro dots not designed for human skin directly on skin means the adhesive isn't designed for sweat. Why not use a base layer of sports tape that is designed to deal with sweat and then stick the dots onto that. So basically like a primer paint for your skin. Should allow everything to stay in place when sweating
