Have you considered doing a 2.0 stroker and forged bottom end - would be well worth but depends on the budget and power level and torque/power curve. Also small port head (newer 1.8T) will have better low end power (efficient up to 6500 rpm or so).

Hi Reese, we had some chats on the different 1 8t forums.. 1.8t above 2.7 or v8 was also my choice, great huge community, cheap(is). AEB with drive by wire is doable, just finished wiring myself today. Air 2 water, i did it in my vw t3, budgetoutlaws yes good videos, i have a audi s2 or s3 waterpump, i can give you more info. 012box i couldnt find alot too, thanks for that masarati info! My vw t3 uses a dumb tacho clock and leds for oil light etc, so i can give you no info about ecu, only thing i have is a tacho amplifier 5v to 12v. My install is also height bound, the vw t3 engine cover must be lifted 1 inch, i have a adapterplate made for the 012box and 1.8t this because my box is upside down installed! Realy interested in this build as contemplating a boxster with Pd130 engine any ideas what year they stopped using 012 audi/vw gearbox ascites found an 2002 boxster S 6 speed

what about balance and geometry if you swap the engine?
