On January 28, 2017 I had the privilege of seeing the voice actors of Ratchet & Clank, played by James Taylor and David Kaye, from the video games and the new movie that came out last year. They also do most to all their character voices, from Obi Wan Ken-obi to Johnny Test.

Right? I was NOT expecting David's natural speaking voice to be so DEEP, so it kind of threw me off a little. We always expect voice actors to look so different from how we picture them, so seeing what they really look like and sound like just throws a curveball.

nobody is gonna talking about the fact that David is 6’0 while James is 5’4? Polar opposites because Ratchet is taller than Clank.

Thank you so much for posting this! I love seeing voice actors doing their thing, because since they are locked up in padded rooms most of the time, seeing them in person and doing the voices is such a rarity.

I know right? I mean I'm French and I played the games in French so technically this shouldn't concern me directly, but I did occasionally set the first game's audio language to English when I was a kid by curiosity, the voices of the protagonists were just perfect to me (I still always played in French of course but yeah, Ratchet's first voice was good), and hearing voice comparisons of both voice actors voicing Ratchet, I think that this Mikey fella was much more suited for the character. His deeper (and I suppose a bit more "raspy"/"gruffy" ?) tone of voice was the perfect fit for Ratchet's quite sarcastic personality, whereas the other one is just sounding a bit too cool or something imo.
