First of all, I want to compliment both of you for doing such a good job with your RU-vid channel. My wife and I have watched every video you posted and have taken lots of notes of places we want to eat at. Since we are long-time subscribers, we especially liked the Q&A section because you touched many of the questions we had and we’re impressed with how you folks answered with complete honesty. Personally, my ears perked up when you mentioned the negative experiences at a couple of your visits. I bring this up because my wife and I also had a frustrating experience at Guava Smoked in Kapahulu. When we went there, we made sure to point out to the woman in charge that we had seen their restaurant profiled on your RU-vid channel. We got the impression that she couldn’t have cared less! In fact, when she asked what the name of your channel was, we told her and she said, “Whatevahs….never heard of them.” That got under my skin so I told them, “I thought you guys would be happy that people were helping spread the good word about your place.” She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. By the way, I forgot to mention that this was our celebratory lunch for us getting our second vaccination but this encounter really bummed me out. No reflection on you two but you can bet I won’t be going back there again. I’m also going to tell all my friends to stay away from Guava Smoked, too. Keep up the good work. We look forward to seeing all your future episodes.

Sadly, our 1st time trying Rainbow..it was a Horrible experience. 2 of us had the chicken and gravy (few feathers still on, tasteless gravy) 2 others had Mahi Mahi (equally bad experience) So disappointed and could not understand the hype.

When this pandemic is over, treat yourselves to a trip to Texas. No doubt, Hawaii got da ono kine grindz, but we have some pretty amazing food here, in Texas, too. Seeing that chili dog bowl started me craving a Texas favorite, Frito Pie. Mahalo for another great video guys!

@@AmandaFelixEats Depends on where go, but, yeah, you can get some great Vietnamese food, especially if you're near a major Army base (i.e. Fort Hood) or in one of the big cities. But, if you're gonna come all this way, you gotta get some Tex-Mex. And, if you eat outside here - No monkey pod bombs!

Woo hoo! 10k congratulations! I love your guys show! I like in the beginning of your vids when y’all driving to the locations it’s good seeing the old neighborhood. I was born and raised on Oahu and moved to South Carolina 25 years ago. Y’all videos brings good comfort to me. I always would get the chili dog plate. Chili is awesome with rice. My mom would cut up hillshire farms smoke sausage in hers. The sausage would always run out before the chili. Yeah! I hate 2 faces too. Y’all crack me up with the monkey pods🤣 I do miss my home very much though.

But Rainbows drive - in I love & miss Rainbows but my favorite is mix plate & BBQ plate with extra BBQ SAUCE on rice & mac salad with chili all over & a large grape slush . Try it one day . If you guys go to the Big island there's a handful places you must go to.... KONA side: -Manago Hotel restaurant (world's best pork chops, No Joke!!) -Tashimas (Best Tenpura) -Pine Tree Cafe -Broke Da Mouth Grindz -Big island grill HILO side: -Hawaiian Style Cafe - Ken's House of Pancakes (HUGE selection) -Kaleo's (in pahoa) -Cafe Pesto -Cafe 100 (home of the original Loco Moco) -Nori's (best saimin) -Seaside Restaurant (awesome seafood) There a lot of other good places, but those are the ones that stand out to me.

Visited Oahu recently. Ohana spent a day in Northshore. After an hour on the road, family was getting hungry. An important tip: A lot of places to eat are closed on Mondays or close early. So double check hours. Only place we could find open after 7:00pm on a Monday was Rainbow Drive-in. By far the worst food we had during our visit. Should have just found a franchise food chain. Wife was looking at their menu online, but we opted to order in-store. The entrees we found online were not available in-store. Turns out not all Rainbow Drive-ins are the same and thus do not have the same menu. I ordered the loco moco and was sadly disappointed. I didn’t think loco moco can be prepared poorly. So if you plan on visiting a Rainbow Drive-in, I do not recommend the Kalihi (N School Street) location. Only highlight was the slush float. My mistake was not ordering enough slush floats.

A new video idea for you guys: your favorite items at Zippy's (both fast food and dine in) that are not commonly ordered, because Zippy's (especially combined with Napoleon's) has a large menu, and most people wouldn't have tried everything that is good there.

There are several HI restaurants in the South Bay and one in Little Tokyo. If you want to visit a GOOD yakiniku restaurant in LA, there is one called "Kushimbo" in K-Town! Da best!! I don't live around there, but have eaten there for 40+ years.

My brother lived on the Mainland for 30yrs....whenever he came home to visit, upon picking him up at the Airport, I'd drive him directly to Rainbows where he'd order a Local Moco!...now he lives just a few blocks away. Note: He also gets his shaved-Ice fix right next door at Shimazu's....Awesome Job you guyz

From the mainland and traveling to Oahu over a dozen times since 1986 I never ate loco moco until my last trip in March 2021. I decided to try it for the first time and ordered it along with some other things from Rainbow's. Well, now I can say I've tried it. Will defientely try some of the other places y'all reviewed. Keep up the great work! ;)

Hots dogs in chilie or hot dogs in pork and beans is the earliest home fast food combos. It is easy to find the ingredients in fridge or pantries. Hot dogs in chile with kidney beans seems a kitchen standard among all my Pacific Islander friends. It always seems to show up at potlucks as fast as a pot of rice.

I am just catching up to your videos, but you two are just lovely couple with good hearted intent. I used to have a small business, so I can understand where the business owners come from though. We had Yelpers threaten to leave bad reviews for not giving them free food. It's really tough to run retail/f&b businesses so sometimes they just distrust or skeptical of the creators community. I look forward to watching all your videos! keep giving out good vibes! aloha!
