You look amazingly better since you got sober🎉 I quit dating 11 years ago at 55. Men are not trash. Women have evolved and men haven’t. Yet. Why would they want to? They’ve had it made, since forever. We are holding them to a higher level now and the pushback is real. Tough. They’re gonna have to evolve eventually. In the meantime, we are all doing just fine without one in our life. You go, ECM.

Congratulations … I read your story of survival and felt I traveled the same road on the opposite side of divorce as a male . We all survive but what I gained from the experience is this. Grief is love that has no place to land … it’s painful but eventually touches Earth again

I get all you say about men. Now I am 74, and I give up. I don't want someone else's problems in my life. I am better off alone. I would never be the person I am today if I would have kept any of these men in my life.

I watched you on your hike. I was truly moved listening to you. I can relate to feeling as though you do not fit in. After leaving the community that I had lived in for 40 years because I could no longer afford the taxes on my home but moving to a new community it has been hard to find people that I could count on. After 19 years here although I have nurtured a couple of relationships. But it is hard to straggle two communities. However I understand what you are struggling with and wish there was some way to support you. Be well and be safe.

Thank you for sharing your insights. I’m glad there are people like you who are able to talk to a camera so well about so many topics; it’s impressive to people like me who would never go there. Your words about men who don’t ever grow up really resonates with me. I don’t have any answers, but there are certainly many factors that contribute to this, and most of them aren’t flattering. Lots of correlations, but the causations can be difficult to pin down. One thing is certain, the trend is worrisome and not conducive to a well functioning and healthy society. I really enjoy your channel, your intellect, your attention to detail, your winsome charm, and your combination of both expertise and cautions about uncertainty. As humans we tend to like binary decisions, but lots of good things happen in the gray; the non-binary if you will. Please keep up the good work that you do; it’s greatly appreciated.

I went to AA a couple of,times and stopped on my own pretty much yes most drinks can be carcinogenic and for me being diabetic I cut out the booze I don’t smoke as well don’t smoke weed but love it in the air lol

I so wish I’d seen this months ago. A friend has gone through a hellish time; narcissistic husband, no money, 4 kids, had been treating her terribly while embarking on a new relationship and just is doing everything to make her miserable. Doing his best to destroy her. Maybe your insights and recommendations might have helped her.

If my math is right, you had young children when you were forced out of the law firm. There must have been some relief at being able to be there more for your children.

i’m a few years older than you single and AA is ok but what helped me a child or adult child of alcoholic drug using or dealing parents lol was alonon or alateen? essentially a group for children of alcoholic parents and coping and understanding their madness lol so my parents sobered up drug free and lived their final years sober , anyone can go online to a AA group instead of a physical group , however dad showed me they just don’t meet to talk they go to BBQ’s they do things fun , one time years ago i went to a AA group in a hole in the wall town , let’s put it this way when I worked for a governor for a year he called the town the arm pit of california LoL . So I went to a AA group they had a night where they were having a candle light in the dark gathering everyone sat around a long table and would talk in the semi dark no one could see the persons face because of it and it was peaceful and opening up a profound night . So to you I’m glad,you,found a pathway to getting into that new head space of clear mind and kudos to you a warrior mom right on.

Best advice.!..professional help....honesty...and critical reconstruction....bumpy ride doesn't have to be filled with self doubt...failure etc...you cover the bases so eloquently...at 70....watching daughters distressful events "wtf" ...hits home ...25 years clean...(personal-divorced)..lol
