You’re easily the most respectable “influencer” (hate that word) & always have been. You never sell out, your level of privacy is spot on IMO & you’re clearly a brilliant Mum, an inspirational business woman & although I can’t relate to lots of aspects of your life (your house 😍 wow) I still find you relatable & will continue to watch you for as long as you produce content 👍🏻 x

Fleur in regards to positive things about yourself - I was actually thinking about how much you seem to have grown as a person in the last year. To promoting BLM, a plant based diet and advocating for sustainability I feel you have been one of the few influencers really using your platform for good. Discussing your miscarriages online is courageous and you should be proud of yourself, I think you are incredibly strong to discuss such a difficult time in your life with such candour and honesty. I have watched you for years and have seen how much you have grown. You're a great mum, wife and boss business lady and I hope this year gets better for you, sending all the love ♥️ Thank you for this very open and honest video!

I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid at 11. Once you get your dosage right it gets a lot easier. If you haven't already, you might ask your doctor about Hashimoto's disease. It is an auto immune disorder that can cause hypothyroidism. The treatment is the same. I'd also recommend seeing an endocrinologist if you can because there are things that a specialist knows to look for with this stuff that a GP doesn't.

Katie Smith see if you can see an endocrinologist. My levels are borderline, “sub-clinical” but my symptoms are/were uncontrollable weight gain, brain fog, increasing anxiety. It runs in my family so my blood work has been closely monitored for about 10 years before I went on meds last year, which was done mainly because of my symptoms.

Loved this video, especially your honesty about no longer being vegan. I feel like so much of the conversation about going vegan is how "easy" it is, when it really is a big decision to make, and a vegan diet, as you talked about, isn't right for everybody! I know it's common knowledge but wanted to leave another positive reinforcement out there: after not getting pregnant for a year I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and my OB was 100 percent sure that was the problem, I had no hormonal or other health issues otherwise. I had no symptoms and my levels were only slightly above the non pregnant range. Got meds right, got pregnant right away, had a healthy baby. My levels were controlled both during and after pregnancy and got pregnant again really soon second time around when we started trying and had another healthy baby girl. It's a scary diagnosis at first but I felt relieved they have found the problem and there were actions I could take. Its common, it absolutely can lead to problems with conceiving and thanks to modern medicine it's easily treatable :)

Vegan doesn’t work for everyone. I tried it years ago s few times, I tried hard to make it work and I felt the worst I ever have in my life. Since switching to a keto/carnivore diet I feel like a superheroooo. I would suggest you avoid dairy at all costs since it causes or worsens inflammation. I would say a moderate protein, low carb and zero dairy diet would help you feel great.

@@MilaBelen Many and I mean *many* animals are trapped, poisoned and shot in order to protect your plant based food sources, many of which die a slow painful death, whilst their babies starve. Thousands of animals/creatures are also chopped up in combine harvesters etc. when preparing to grow your food. One grass fed cow is killed humanely in seconds (and yes I’m aware of malpractice within the meat industry, but cruelty is not actually standard despite what the few documentaries with an agenda say) and will feed a human for probably 6 months. 1 cow vs. thousands of animals. No diet is perfect or free of killing and that’s a fact. Oh and a lot of humans are getting incredibly sick eating plant based diets and shipping exotic vegan staples such as quinoa etc. around the world, instead of eating food from local farms, is horrible for the environment.
@brennamcnamara600
@brennamcnamara600 3 года назад
@@ASMRMagic I just want to give a few points here. I think the idea that there is a "humane" way to kill is one of the problems that veganism tries to challenge. Veganism exists with the ethical stance that no killing is ethical and there is a lot of discussion within the vegan community about ethics also extending to the people (predominantly POC) who are exploited in the farming industry. I come from a farming background and I can say that these animals sense way more than the meat industry wants us to believe. They know they are being put to slaughter, whether it be a quick death or not. Also you point out that "a lot of humans are getting incredibly sick eating plant based diets," and a really prescient example of a lot of humans getting incredibly sick (and dying) eating meat-based diets is our current global pandemic -- the Coronavirus.

This video made me cry, the pain of a miscarriage stays with you and that’s okay, it’s the strangest kind of grief, the grief of what could have been. I’m sorry you’re going through it too and I hope you have many healthy and happy pregnancies in the future. This year has been an absolute shitstorm and I’m with you on the duvet days, the little nuggets we bring into this world who are SO hard to parent cause they’re so wilful and you want them to stay that way and keep that independence are such a joy and the only thing that can make the bad days less bad. Sending you love light and health

I have been on levothyroxine for years, medication is increased while pregnant. With a thyroid condition you get classed as high risk pregnancy so are monitored more and more scans, Dont know if everyone one does but I did, everything was fine,

Such a great Q&A, really honest and lovely to hear your thoughts about some topics I wanted to know about and so important to share some of the tougher stuff you've been through as I don't feel it's discussed enough and so many share similar experiences. Really appreciate this!

Fleur, I reversed my hypothyroidism in about three months by cutting out the veg you have, eating Itsu seaweed and using iodinized salt. I'm sure you've had your thyroid antibodies checked, but I also had those - around 400+. Due to diet changes my TSH went back down to under 1 (it's now 0.-something) and I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I also went light on the carbs, which it sounds like you're doing (but didn't cut them out completely as I love a croissant in the morning).This gave me the belief you really can change your thyroid situation through diet, and potentially quite quickly. Through pregnancy it's only got lower and I eat lots of carbs now. ALSO, I'm older than you by a lot of years, and so read the book 'It starts with the egg' - - please take a look at it. There are a few things you can do to help your egg quality, like taking a high quality CoQ10 to give your eggs a bit of an energy boost so they have more power when they need it. You've got this - - wishing you all the luck; you're doing the right things, at least from my experience.

All the best Fleur, just be patient. I’ve been struggling with thyroid disease for 4 years and it has been a roller coaster. It is not easy but you’re not alone. I hope your change in diet will resolve the problem and improve your symptoms if any. Focus on feeling mentally and emotionally better. Your body will soon be ready to have babies. I’m so sorry for the miscarriages. You’re doing your best that’s all that counts.

Thank you for your honesty - from one woman to another, the world is HARD sometimes and there are things we feel we need to keep behind closed doors. To have someone with a platform like yourself be so open about these kinds of things speaks volumes and sends strength to those of us who have suffered, as well as bringing awareness to a whole new generation who are growing up. I'm not wording this very well as I'm a bit choked, and I doubt you'll see this but thank you from the bottom of my heart regardless 💖

Watching your video, you say you haven't discovered anything positive about yourself, but I think you actually answered the opposite. Despite how difficult the year has been, all the shitty things you've been through, the sadness and the physical and mental health challenges, you've made it through stronger than before and you can still find the little moments of joy and laughter in every day. Sending you and Mike and Riv all the positive vibes and best wishes from Australia!

Thank you for being so open and honest about your struggles with infertility this year. I know this will help many other women who are dealing with the same thing. I’m praying you are able to get your thyroid issues straightened out and are able to have a full term pregnancy in the foreseeable future. I have two kids and always dreamed up having three but have realized financially for my family that 2 kids is the right number for us. I can relate with your struggles with disciplining River. My oldest is 3 and very strong willed. Thank you for not sugar coating motherhood and giving honest answers. Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts but also very hard. Best wishes to you!

I have been watching you for many many many years and hands down have always been my favourite - this has been the most refreshing video to watch of all year. 100% feel more let into your life and it's wonderful! Thank you for your humour and cool nature, watching (and hearing) how you have handled quite difficult situations this year has shown such strength and a positive way to deal. I would love to have just a portion of that composure. Wishing the best of luck in health & happiness!

In regards to parenting and toddler discipline, I discovered Janet Lansbury’s podcast “Unruffled” a while ago and cannot recommend it enough to other parents. I also have a 2.5 year old. I’ve learned so much about why she behaves the way she does and gained so much confidence in setting boundaries (sticking to the no’s), and avoiding battles and power struggles. Like I said, I can’t recommend it enough!

Thank you for this video, I’ve been having a shit time recently with regards to having another baby and my health. I have so many days where the darkness comes over me but my 3 year old keeps me going. But listening to someone else talk about it helps so much to know that I’m not alone in feeling that way. It can be so frustrating and upsetting, but we have to be so thankful that we have the little ones we do already have 💖 Today has been a particularly hard day and just taking 30 minutes out to sit and listen to you talk has been a bit of a god-send so thank you! Xxx

Really enjoyed this, sometimes Q&As are a bit meh, but this was so engaging and honest and likeable. Sorry to hear about your health issues and how its affecting conception and the way you want to eat - hopefully the medication will work soon, once the dose is correct, and that you can start trying for another baby, best of luck with it!

You come across as the sweetest, most real person. I love that you share yourself and your family but keep some privacy there too. 2020 has been a tough year on so many levels and you’re amazing for getting through two miscarriages on top of all that and still getting up and bringing up River. Sending lots of love to you, River and Mike x

Thank you Fleur, this is why we love you. This is why Fleur is the sort of friend we would all love in our lives. Luckily we get to spend time with her through social media.

I was so sorry to hear about your miscarriages Fleur. My husband and I are also trying to conceive (our daughter turned two in September) and it’s just so stressful. You spend your whole life thinking a pregnancy can happen so quickly, because everyone is telling you to be safe and careful when you’re young, so when it’s a struggle... it’s so hard to process. I hope 2021 goes so smoothly for you and you can welcome a beautiful little one.

I don’t normally comment but, my close friend had the same issue with her thyroid and pregnancy and literally the moment they got her levels correct she became pregnant and is pregnant right now! Don’t give up, you will get there. The one difference that worked for her was seeing an endocrinologist and not just her pcp doctor.

What a refreshing, real video. I have followed you for a long time, our daughters were born about a month apart from each other.. I've always felt like, out of all of the people I subscribe to, that I've related to you the most. I've also had the shittiest year in 2020.. my daughter almost died in february from a kidney malformation that we didnt know existed, my husband tried to commit suicide on our 9th anniversary in June and my son (5) is currently in the process of being diagnosed with autism.. then last week my dad passed away after a 6 year fight with ALS... my point being, please do not discount your strength through all of your trials this year. If there is one thing I've learned about myself, it's that I am strong and courageous to face these trials I've been put through this year. You are also strong and courageous to face the issues you have been dealing with head on. You could act like they don't exist.. you could give up.. but you aren't. You are fighting for your family and your health and that is AMAZING! Also, thank you so much for still uploading even though I am sure there have been days where you didn't feel like putting on a smile. Your videos really do bring a bright spot to my days. ❤❤❤ love you and looking forward to vlogmas!!!!!
