I really agree with you about coloured socks with those loafers. I think the casual nature of loafers, lends itself to a less formal, more playful aesthetic. The playful socks also indicate the Intentional informality of loafers, especially when worn with a sports jacket. Also, while I welcome more frequent videos, I value quality over quantity. You may post less than others, but when you do post, I tend to take notice. You provide valuable content, on particular aspects of classic style, that I rarely see elsewhere. Thankfully, each video contains new material rather than the regurgitated, recycled content of so many other channels.

Hi Vlad, I rarely wear suits to work as work in a casual environment, prefer some smart chino's in khaki or navy blue colours with a nice dress shirt. What shoe styles and colours do you recommend? I do wear suede light brown oxfords but wondered what else would look good?

Thank you, Donnell! But Magnanni shoes are not in the same class as the shoes that I usually mention here. They may look decent with some sharp lines but the leather, the construction, the timelessness leave a lot to be desired. Not to mention that they're way overpriced, I would stay far away as there way too many better options for less.

Love the video....on the flannel trousers, I think once you have a couple of grey flannel trousers, then burgundy (closer to the brown/purple tone, not the redder tones) is slept on and really rare (if you want to add some flash). Also, I credit you and Parisian Gentleman (and owe you both) for recommending Spier&McKay....love their sports coats and shirts (they have become my go to for my RTW shirts). You've helped complete my nice little triangle of men's wear (for clothing - shoes has like an octagon, so many good brands in the $400 - $650 price range it's ridiculous). Pini Parma for Trousers and Suits (but not sports coats); Suit Supply for Suits (only their suits with side adjusters, preferably with pleats) and Sports Coats (but not really trousers); and Spier and McKary for Shirts and Sports Coats (eventually suits, but only their pleated high rise option with side adjusters).

What's up, Alex? Like you, I only get the Neapolitan style suits from S&M. The regular style is fine too but I prefer the lapels and open quarters of the Neo jackets and the high rise and pleats of the trousers.

Hey Mr. Riché, I have a doubt about buying my first good suit. I'm an 18 year old who doesn't have an immediate need for suits. Should I wait as long as possible and get my body as best as I can by exercising before the time when I really need a good MTO suit or does it really matter if I'm as fit as I can before I get one tailored to my body? I personally love suits and would like to wear one even before I start working. However, I fear that if I make a suit too soon Ill grow out of it as I continue exercising and growing (to a limited extent of course). What do you think?

Good question, in my experience back when I worked in the custom clothing industry, it’s best to get your body close to where you want it prior to getting something custom made. The good thing is you have time on your side as you don’t have a pressing need at the moment. My advice would be to start with a good ready to wear suit and get it tailored to fit you then build from that. That’ll give you a good starting point when it’s time to get your first custom suit. Hope that helps.

Yo bro, the only time it happened to me was when I thought I was texting my wife regarding something my sister said and I texted my sister instead. I love that linen sportcoat you wear here. I almost bought it when it came out, but I already had my Pini Parma summer jacket and other summer jackets, I have no more room for another SC. Also, I would really like to know more about the S&M fresco jackets and trousers, you said you were wearing one. I’m looking for a fresco grey suit, but surprisingly it’s hard to find in Europe in RTW 🤔 I don’t want to invest in MTM, so maybe I’ll get back at S&M next year even with the tax fees. And regarding the text to the wrong person thing : I’ve been there... but it wasn’t text, it was skype... at work... to somebody I was planning to fire, back when I was an hotline supervisor 😓that was auckward 😅

Oops. I actually did that. A long time ago I wrote a long email complaining about a colleague A. (who was actually an ex girlfriend) to another colleague M. that I was friends with. A really long email. And then sent it to her by mistake! Luckily M worked in IT and he was able to delete the email from the server before it got delivered to her. Possibly two of the scariest minuted of my life. That taught me a lesson about behaving professionally in work.

@@v_r_ The pocket square is folded in half, then into a half again, or into thirds, deepening on both the width and depth of the top pocket on the suit coat. From memory President Kennedy popularised this style, which is regularly seen worn by Politicians, when on TV. I wear it often with my business suits, in Melbourne Australia, which is the Fashion Capital of Australia for women, but until recently was the Financial and Major Corporate centre of Australia and wearing a pocket square, in the manner promoted on numerous RU-vid sites, would have you seen to be an ostentatious peasant, or in local terminology ---- "A cashed up Bogan". What I dislike is a tie with no socks. What occasion is that for? Answer: taking Instagram pics only! No socks is a great idea with appropriate shoes in hot weather, but why wear a tie if it's that hot?

I actually do wear no-show socks, but really dig the no sock look. If I wear no socks all day with my dress shoes, they will eventually stink - so it is a must. We get to wear a lot of loafers here in Southern California so you will see ALOT of the no sock look.
