Yeah. Summer break is a blessing, and a well deserved one at that. Going through a perfectly normal American Midwest suburb public school system, I've seen how much shit teachers have to put up with. Now imagine teaching in an environment much further from ideal, such as a Chicago public school.

He did say this, but now he spends an entires week worth of time(if not more) to communicate a concept in 4-5 minutes. I think he also learned that he loved communicating information to other people in an easier to digest manor.

I think people would still have children, unless immortality suppresses the biological urge/drive/desire for children. People would probably still get "baby fever." The only way I see them not is if this immortal society kept people too busy to have children.

I've always thought that if immortality is figured out, it would be secretive and very rich organizations that would be the first customers and the first in the know. And before they would make it available to anyone (for a very high price) it would be simple enough to reduce human population. A couple EMP's a few nukes. And you'd be surprised how many less mouths we have to feed in the future. Then even with immortality for some of the people it would take a while to get back to our current population.

I'd argue that, even if "immortality" (which seems to really mean "eternal youth", since there's no way you're making someone immune to cardiac arrest, blunt force trauma, cancer, etc) is possible, that it would be a bad thing for us. People who propose this kind of stuff tend to focus on how much good could be done with it, but have you ever considered what it would mean for, say, Stalin or Mao to be hooked up to an Elixir of Life? Even on a smaller scale, what makes you think that we'd become *better*, as opposed to growing more and more wretched for centuries? This reminds me of something St. Augustine said: he believed that demons were immortal, but that they weren't to be envied, because what's the point of immortality without being blessed (in the Christian sense, of being absolutely, perfectly, and unchangeably happy and content). Or, to use slightly different language: why on Earth should we envy eternal life if that life isn't a good life? For all its flaws, at least a short, mortal life full of suffering has got to be better than a never-ending life full of suffering, right?

My handwriting has been said to be really neat and easy to read. That is, before 3rd grade. We were quite literally forced to throw away our old style of writing and replace it with cursive. You got a detention if you didn’t write in cursive if I recall. Because of this, the moment we were no longer forced to use cursive in 4th grade I tried to revert back to normal non cursive, but my writing is forever tainted and will always be messy and terrible to look at. Sorry for the personal life story, I just wanted to vent this at something.

It was in Cortex. Basically his grandmother from part of his father was Irish. And when CGP Grey was a kid his father applied for Irish citizenship because it was possible for a while before the government was going to pass a law to stop that kind of loophole. His father handed his and Grey´s paperwork on the last day before they stopped accepting them, and Grey forgot about it. Few years later his dad mentioned as a sidenote that they both have Irish citizenship a he realized he had the opportunity to travel to the EU.

@@noicrtm4472 As far as handguns go, the M1911 is rather reliable. Regarding the M4, it's more or less a shortened M16, which has been in service since Vietnam. The original M16 was horribly unreliable, though that was fixed with the M16A1, and the following models. Kinda like the L85A1/SA80. The L85A2 fixed most of the issues with the A1 Variant. Likewise, while the 1911 is a very old pistol, it's been modified to be better over the years, although it did lose its role as America's standard pistol. Honestly, though, arguing about what weapons are better for a military is a fruitless endeavor. The best weapon is the one that works the best for the soldiers that use it. A good part of that is training. As a bit of an additional point concerning the Kalashnikov, is that for the most part, military use has replaced it with newer models, ranging from the AK-74 to the AK-12.

You cannot change the physics of the universe without very significant change to other things that in the vast majority of cases would lead to an uninhabitable universe. You could remove mandatory thermodynamics classes in school and University but that doesn't sound like what you wrote. 2. I assume you are referring to the second law of thermodynamics, that entropy must always increase or stay the same. That doesn't allow any short term predictions, only long term expectations. And since time is infinite this isn't even true. For all practical purposes it is because any event that would violate it is so unlikely that we might as well consider it impossible but in theory there are possible physical events with negative change of entropy.

I've heard his answer somewhere before, it's basically two things iirc. A) Fahrenheit is more familiar to him and B) 0°F and 100°F are roughly the extremes between which most humans live their lives in. I also kinda prefer Fahrenheit because each 10°F roughly corresponds to a degree of comfort to me, 70-79°F is most comfortable and it gets less comfortable every 10 away from there. In short, it has nothing to do with taking scientific measurements (Which you should be using Kelvin for anyways) and everything to do with day to day living.

+Phelanii And? That doesn't help with the weather. The average person is going to use Fahrenheit or Celsius for weather. I think Fahrenheit is a better measurement for weather. I would imagine Grey has a similar feeling, as Celsius is vastly better than Fahrenheit (being the same as Kelvin to an extent.) But I can't say for sure, for obvious reasons.

+Phelanii Celsius is the more logical measurement, but I do feel like Fahrenheit is better for day to day use, because the difference between each degree is not as great, so using it, one can be more precise about the current weather without having to use decimals.
