Hello Valerie, I lived on the southern coast of Maine (Wells) USA as well. I moved back to Massachusetts in November and am missing the ocean, especially on a day like today. It was 91 degrees in my new Massachusetts town. I also collected rocks (on Drake's Island) for my gardens. I miss my ocean view.

Oh Alla I had to pick the berries all summer too! But you know, the chores we do as children teach us good work ethic and you have that. If parents do not give the children responsibility, they are less motivated to take on a project like your house later in life. You learn to preserver, to take joy in work and to find solutions when there is a problem, not to just give up. It is a delight to see mother and daughter such good friends, and isn’t it funny to notice how much you are similar to your parents!

Again.. as children. We picked many of our raspberries. And sold them in pints & quart containers. This how I learned to make change. Along with wheel barrels of fallen tree limbs for $1.00. For the summer beach renters. For their fireplaces. We were very busy growing up in Scarborough Maine. / Higgins Beach.
