My husband died almost 2 years ago, after 55 years of marriage. We were together 60 years. (We met and fell in love when I was a Freshman in high school.) I’ve been reading a lot about the Japanese art of living a long life. Your attitude towards living aligns with this lifestyle. You have found your “Ikigai” with passion for all things creative such as painting and filmmaking. You have a healthy relationship with food, embrace your friendships, remain curious and love to learn new things. May you enjoy your long life! ❤️

Cleaning with littles. I was not a routine/schedule person before kids, I was a fly the seat of my pants for everything except for work. Once my first child arrived, I was overwhelmed with being a SAHM with an infant vs leaving for work each day. A new friend helped me create a daily schedule/routine which was hard to do and learn those habits. Once my daughter slept through the night and wouldn’t wake up until 7am, I began getting up at 4am to exercise, shower, get dressed, do my hair and face, then my quiet time with God and then start laundry and breakfast for me and my husband before he left for work at 6:45. Then it was time with my baby, her feeding, a bath and cuddle and then during her morning nap I would dust, sweep, mop and prep lunch (hubby worked 15 minutes from home and came home for lunch), feeding baby and cuddling with her, then early noon nap which meant folding the morning laundry and putting it away and starting another load, the feeding my baby, etc and getting dinner ready, then clearing up from dinner and folding the load of laundry while daddy spent time with baby. As we added to our family, I kept the routine with additions and as the kids got older they had chores in between homeschooling them. Having the schedule/routine sounds rigid but it actually left a lot of free time to enjoy my kids and family life, I think that because of social media, many parents overthink all,of this and create more issues than solve things before they become overwhelming. When we get married and then have children, it’s no longer about the individual you or your spouse, it’s about the couple and then the family, this is why I got up 2-3 hours earlier than my household to have “me time” to take care of myself first before everyone else, and yes, after a discussion with my husband, I went to bed before he did once the children arrived. Plus, we SCHEDULED A DATE NIGHT once a week to keep those flames burning- whether it was to go out to dinner, sitting in the park, or putting the kids to bed early or asking for an overnight with friends (husband was career military so never close to grandparent or other family) to have an intimate night at home. Frustration is normal and so is emotional exhaustion but your RESPONSE to it is what will make or break you and your family life- so communicate with your spouse and if you have to, budget for one day a month for a babysitter and you day, even if the you day is to have an interrupted day of cleaning, laundry, meal prep or bingeing YT or Netflix or just reading a book or having a spa day. After 41 years of marriage and child rearing and home making, you will get through the highs and lows of marriage and parenting and all the responsibilities that go along with it if you CHOOSE TO.

Thank you for creating all these beautiful videos. I am from Novi Sad, Serbia, which is quite close to Budapest, so I often go there for a weekend or short holiday. Budapest is not only one of the most beautiful cities in the world but also one of the last remaining true European cities. Splendor, art, sophistication and old timeless elegance. As someone who also often travel to the USA, I can not understand how someone can leave all that for the USA.
