I dont have those tools, but used a multimeter between negative battery terminal and ground, then pulled fuses until i saw the 1.8 amp draw go down to .18, it was the #7 fuse on the tan fuse box like yours. I feel its my MMI controls not going to sleep, i cant pinpoint it. What fuse was your amp issue? Did it resolve it? You never said it did. I pull fuse, battery doesnt die.
Where is Row B (middle brown fuse holder) which was cause for the parasitic draw of 1.8 amps from the battery making the battery drain ? Is this under the dashboard inside vehicle ; or in the rear of vehicle on passenger side when tailgate has been lifted up ? I have a similar issue like this why i am asking. 2007 Audi Q7 3.6L FSI V6 Quattro with Premium Package.
Excellent Scott , when you have the proper tools and know how , it makes life so much easier. The letters on the screen stating Scott and battery drain and things like that you display seems to block the work you are doing.. Anyway to have it fade away after a few seconds, ? It makes it difficult to sometimes see what you are doing.. Thank you sir for sharing...
whats better the hook or probe 4? I've seen beneficial things for both of them. like the pp4 can measure injector pulse. can the hook do that stuff too?
Richard Cowtails hello Richard thanks for watching I have both hook & power probe 4 I use the hook the most it will check injectors but only shows peak volts of injector the processor in the hook is a little slow ( i.e. Say checking an indicator hook to slow ) power probe 4 will see indicator working you can use the both. Together but there not cheap
I had a similar problem water damage with the amp i had the amp replaced then the battery was being drained i took the car to another shop turns out the idiots that replaced my amp didnt screw it back on so it was loose it pinched the fiber optic cable which prevented the amp from going to sleep when the car was off so it drained the battery
Man you went through all that do diagnose a faulty amplifier? Sheesh! VCDS > optic ring break> will reveal an amp problem. Remove amp and look for water intrusion....it's a very common problem on these...sunroof drains clog and water drains on the amplifier. Also washer line going to the tailgate breaks and leaks on the amplifier...you'll see blue residue on the amp.
hi i have starting problem wont start, battery have no power.have brand new battery and when door is open or dash cam in or system is on just 2-5min. and battery warning light come up ... and no more start, battery complete empty. where is the problem ? maybe you can help me
nice vid, made me laugh @9.37 MADE IN MEXICO. but i have this exact problem, do you know if i can isolate it somehow or do i need a replacement amp? and if so would asecond hand one be ok ? thanks for uploading
Thanks A secondhand amp will work but you will need to get it coded to your car ( Audi pain in the bum) Once coded you should be ok ,I was not able to isolate and the mmi still shuts down if I unplugged the faulty amp
+neeniebob1 Hello the etc2000 is connected to the fuse that power the amp when I reconnect the amp to its connection plug the etc2000 show intermittent short to ground Sorry for standing in front of camra I will do better next time
