Today the United States Senate voted across both party lines to make Daylight Saving Time permanent , the finale of ABC’s “The Bachelor” aired and Jimmy’s wife Molly was successful once again in determining who the winner was, the NCAA basketball tournament is underway and Gonzaga (a totally made up school) is seeded #1, the latest March madness from the QAnon crowd is a theory that Trump says “China” incorrectly to send a secret signal to the world that COVID-19 was manufactured in Ukraine, Eric Trump went on Sean Hannity where he did his best to answer a question that nobody asked - “Who’s your daddy?” And we went out to Hollywood Blvd to play one of our favorite games “Which One Doesn’t Belong?” with our announcer Lou Wilson!

@@FakingANerve It will be dark an hour longer in the morning, with that balance shifted to give more daylight in the late afternoon and evening. This could adversely affect some jobs which benefit from morning daylight. This winter shift of the clock has also never really been tried before, has it? So it's a major experiment by the US government. Interesting.

"Year round DST" hasn't really been tried before because it will result in the sun rising even later in the winter. DST was originally implemented only in the summer because that is not a problem in summers, since the sun is rising naturally so early.

But that's not the full truth A. Humans have the capacity to love more than one person B. The guy will probably be pulled towards the one he actually loves the most, but he don't know unless he feels that intimate sexual bond with a gal if how much he feels for her, that intimacy is important to subjectively developing a sense of if you click or not. The time should stay in standard time, not daylight savings time. When DST was made permanent in the 1970's, it didn't last long. I remember I could not ride my bike to school from Nov. To Apr. Because it was too dark.

When I lived in Seattle we had 16 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice, compared to 8 1/2 on the Winter Solstice! The sun wouldn't rise until almost 8am on that day. Now imagine if we keep DST. Those poor people wouldn't see the sun until almost 9am!!! Of course if we got rid of DST, then on the Summer Solstice the sun would rise a little after 4am! Either way, northern latitudes are screwed!

@@hkrug666 let me go back and correct that! Lol I meant 19 states had enacted permanent daylight savings time. I guess that is what gave it the permanency. But , along with Hawaii, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa did not use it. Sorry about the confusion. Thanks for pointing that out.

I guess no one remembers the so-called "Energy Crisis" in 1973, when we went on DST in Winter. We walked to school in the dark, people went to work in the dark, it was found that no electricity or energy was saved at night, and everyone hated it.

Oh my, you had to remind me??? Bad enough I literally had to prove to my kids about gas lines and how you could only get gas on certain days based off your liscence plate number. Heck, they hadn't even seen a real life rotary dial phone until they were teens and I took them to my oldest uncle's house lol. I even had to show them how to use it!!!

Not all areas in US use daylight savings time. My son’s school never changed clocks. I worked where daylight savings time was used. We lived on slow time and fast time. Nightmare.

The long awaited permanent daylight savings time elimination will not be so welcome by those on the West coast unfortunately. For those of us living in the East it will be great but in Vancouver BC, Seattle and some parts of northern California, it will still be dark when commuting to work or school at 9 AM in December-April. So maybe many will find out a little to late how good this was for them. 😞
