Welcome to The Christ Fam, we are uploading two new videos per week: Wednesdays and Sundays. We try to reach people for Christ by beeing a little different than other Chanels. When I was up in Iraq for six months, we got sent for a 3 day weekend for R&R in Qatar. What a piece of cake for a deployment. We lived in tents in Iraq, had to go about 100 yards to the latrine or showers, walk about half a mile to the chow hall, you have it so easy at Al Udeid.

The hand thing is an overkill, no way you get kicked out for that. Even a normal resident wouldn't be kicked out for that let alone someone from the u.s air force.

The left hand is a no go because that is what you use to wipe your rear end. Qatar is way more chill than the other Middle Eastern countries.

We've been on lock down since March. Man, it sucks to hear so many good things about this base and come here only to be so limited because of a pandemic.

Unfortunately I don’t know what the officer dorms look like. For sheets, the dorms for enlisted have twin if I’m not mistaken

My husband served in Operation Freedom in Ramadi Iraq. When he got R&R they sent him to Qatar is this where he went?

I’m not 100% sure but I think that this is the only base in Qatar, so I would think so but gain, I’m not 100% sure

Can anyone comment on what it's like there now with COVID? Are the gyms open at least? Also... exercises?! Gross...

When I was there, even in the high of COVID, the gyms were still open! It just had COVID guidelines, as in social distancing, mask wearing and stuff like that. As of now I’m not sure.

New soldier for about 2 years now and expecting to deploy here soon. Do you get patched here?

You should get a squadron patch and I believe it’s a wing patch as well, I know for sure you should get a squadron patch

You can get a patch there, up to you, just ask around. Al Udeid is a good deployment, gets very hot and much to do around base. Free internet is slow, unless you get their Babtel internet service. You can travel to Doha with your unit as often as you want, just fill out an OBTR. The DEFACs are great. There great places to visit and eat at in Doha. Go to the Souqs, the Pearl, and the Villaggio Mall. I was there in 2015 and again in 2019 for a week and forward deployed to and from Afghanistan. Deploy as much as you can, you'll make new friends and make lifetime connections. You also don't have to pay state or federal taxes.
