The owners don’t want to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars a season for grass field maintenance…they’re not going spend money on a development league 😂
@keenannash2947
@keenannash2947 10 месяцев назад
A developmental league might bring in money tho... depends on when they play and how popular the can become but if the NFL can turn a league like the XFL into a developmental league and make money off of it (maybe even have a few developmental teams in Europe) I think the owners would do it.

There were only six true veteran QBs starters at beginning of the season. That makes 26 young QBs starting. Veterans in the past 10-20 years dominated the NFL and with experience came scoring

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes have essentially ruined the way owners and managers look at qbs. Tom: not only did he have a high success rate. He did it fairly esrly in his career AND was able to do it for a LOOOONG time AAAAND quickly on another team. Pat: Pat, right out of the gate essentially, started winning big. Together: Those 2 quarterbacks have made people forget that it’s actually really hard and statistically unlikely to win a Super Bowl. Let alone multiple… name EVERY hall of fame quarter back with in the last 20 years that have 2 rings…….. Peyton, Tb, Roethlesburger, Mahomes *gulp* Eli… that’s it… and it took Peyton almost 10 years in the league to get 1…. Everything now is “Super Bowl or bust” with in 3 to 4 years… you’re LUCKY to get 1 ring in 10… let alone multiple with one qb

Great discussion and I wholeheartedly agree with Brady. The NFL product is completely watered down, and in part, it's the overlegislation of the game and the complete overemphasis on passing. The owners created this mess, and it’s only getting worse. Never mind that they want to extend the season to 18 games, lol. You’ll have UPS drivers filling in at the end of the season lmao

The fact that he didn't make it as an NFL Qb doesn't matter. Two of the greatest coaches of all time, Bill Bellichik and Andy Reid never played in the NFL at all, so according to your logic they should have never coached anyone and shouldn't talk about football.

Please don't forget the mental work. All the expectations placed on these young men are unbelievable. The best example is DTR on Sunday. He cried at the end because the pressure of expectation, which was so high, was released. For me, it's unbelievable that not much more work is being done with the young men here. It's still dismissed as weakness, which doesn't help anyone. The best example is the Netflix show in which Kirk's cousin has a headache every time. He tries to process it with a psychologist in talk therapy. It has to be resolved neuronally because there are very few people who need pressure to function. Because under stress, the brain loses around 30% of its functional abilities, and when fear is added to this, the brain loses another 40% of its functional abilities and then we only react from our amygdala. Play dead, flee or attack.

I'm 58 and have a number of friends that have all but stopped watching the NFL. I haven't watched an NFL game all season. The quality of play has dipped to a point that is no longer watchable for many. The NFL needs to evaluate how to upgrade the quality of their product. Guys like Lawrence Taylor, Howie Long, Jack Lambert, Ray Lewis, and Ronnie Lott were the physical counterbalance to the skill of Joe Montana, Dan Marino, and Tom Brady. It made for compelling games and competition that made you sit on the edge of your seat!

Brady used to reach back to his HS coach to assess his mechanics in Patriot game films. Side arm crap is not innovation/improvement. It was around in the 60s. NFL is manipulating the game to make it more 'exciting'. Rules don't have to change that much to give advantages to offenses, just how rules are enforced. But do fans really care about mediocrity, if games are more exciting and are decided in the last minute? They must have consulted Adam Silver. After all, millenials like NBA fake games.

Sure the Bucs and Pats are mediocre AT BEST, but Just because TB says there’s “a lot of mediocrity in the NFL today” is nonsensical! Look at the QBs we have today! It’s insane compared to 15-20 years ago. The NFL is more exciting now than it ever has been! The AFC is an absolutely fascinating bottleneck of competition to see who gets into the playoffs. Unlike back when it was just a 3-4 team race every year. How could an objective NFL fan not love this!? It’s pretty pathetic to see how people are just agreeing with this just because Tom Brady said it.
