Thanks for this, I’m more of a mobile qb and I’ve been trying to get more accurate for my freshman year next year, i was wondering if there are any drills that I can complete
Thank you very much for the advice! I haven't quite tried it out yet but I've been looking to throw accurately for a very long time now, very excited to try these tips tomorrow!
Hey thanks man with helping me on this my throws have been kinda all over the place but now after watching ur video that’s gonna help me a lot! Love ur vids
Thanks man! I was a linebacker but my coach put me at 2nd QB when he saw me playing QB with my friends. I guess he saw something in me. He says I got good IQ and spiral thanks for helping with accuracy!
i saw your arm strength video and that really helped me out a lot and definitely going to take notes on this video too and work on it thanks again coach !!
Coach Tom Martinez coached Brady closed toe don’t open up, shoulder closed and elbow to ear throw a C with his hand and extend. Like throwing in a hall way, if your elbow or anything hits the walls no beuno. 🙏
Hey Coach Grant, quick question, so you mention keeping the non-throwing arm tight to your body, but I've heard other coaches say to use the non throwing arm to rip through which ends up giving rotational force. Would you recommend doing that, or just using core?
Christopher Bhardwaj that’s not what I teach, I personally think it’s inefficient, I teach my guys your rotational force is all torque from you keeping your shoulders back and hip driving and rotating through with the core.
I’ve never got to play my high school doesn’t offer football hoping to be a walk on in college next year, always practiced never played can be accurate up to about 40 yards hope this helps when I start getting up to 50-60 yards
Personally I think I should be the starting quarterback but not starting because I'm like an inch shorter than the starter. I was hitting every route during the first practice. Hopefully I will get a chance to get on the field and hopefully I'll make it count.
So I'm a freshmen in highschool rn and I was just playing with some friends for fun and I was throwing around like 30 to 40 yards and I was wondering if that was good distance and was wondering if it would be worth to tryout for my high school team next year.
STEALTH FlipFlop yeah I don’t think that’s a bad distance but I’m going to be honest QB is so much more than arm strength, so many other factors like IQ come into play, if you want to learn more about football IQ check out the link in my description
@@firstdowntraining yeah there was like 20 if us 10 on both team and I was getting out the pocket well and only had one interception I have decent knowledge and used to play but I played safety not quarterback
STEALTH FlipFlop yeah totally get that, I think improving your football IQ would be the best thing for you. I offer that kind of service on my website, check out the link in the description!
I wanted to step up next year for quarterback it would be my first year playing qb ive been a safety and I was wondering how I could up my iq and awareness?
I should’ve played football in Highschool. Went to all the meetings and then Covid shut it down but I would’ve been put on the line anyway because of my height
I decided I want to play quarterback next year for my sophomore year The Varsity quarterback is graduating and there's a couple quarterbacks above me and I've never played quarterback before thank you for the videos I'm preparing I feel like I can be a Cam Newton Jalen hurts
Thanks coach, this is really helpful and I have a question, do I step at them with my lead leg as there running or do I step somewhere towards them. Again thank you very much
I would it doesn’t need to be directly at them- you can have the front foot slightly closed however I think it’s important the inside arch is angled at the target- that’s what will keep you accurate it’s not all about the front toe
On the very momment of release, I try to center my eyes on the target (point in space) and the receiver on my peripheral, both on the same visual frame. Front shoulder/foot to the target. All in 1ms. Is it right?
Thank god I came across this video cause my coach wants me to play qb but my passes ain’t accurate and consistent but I’ll work on that I’m like a Lamar Jackson
I'm about ready to go into high school and I want to be the starting Quarterback, I have a pretty good arm in terms of accuracy and strength but do you know how I can get better at a super tight spiral?
Ty for the video I’m in 8th grade and I plan to try out for football I’m high school I can throw the ball 25-30 yards with a good spiral but I worry that I don’t put enough power and I don’t have enough accuracy on my mid ball this video helps a lot also go Michigan state
@@firstdowntraining I set up some empty trash cans in my back yard this morning and used the techniques in this video and my accuracy instantly got better it was crazy to see what I can do
Hey coach, im Australian and im 15 but i love NFL and i was found that i can put the ball in great positions when im playing an actual game with people but when im just throwing in a bucket i find it a lot harder. Is there a potential difference if so is there any advice?
Yessir checkout this page, it has Eveything you need. Also being able to read coverages is important. I’ll send you a link below to what we have on that www.firstdowntraining.com/examples
Hey, I have a question if you’re still responding. I’m not ‘trained’ but I have a pretty good arm and can hit a lot of targets on the run. Me and my friends just play ‘pick up’ football, and I’m pretty good when I throw. The only problem is I cannot seem to hit streak routes, and have a problem throwing under handed. How could I fix this? Edit- and do you think I could be good enough to start on a high school team?
American artist yeah you can start if you put in the work, just playing with your friends won’t get you the starting job you have to invest time into it. And for your deep throws I would suggest throwing the ball sooner with more air. If you have quick feet and a quick drop you can get the ball up faster with less effort because it’s not as far of a throw
First Down Training awesome, thank you! I’ll try some of the drills you’ve put up on here. I’ll come back and let you know if the coach let me start. I have one more question, though. Without a football field or pass to practice on, how would you suggest I try to get that Game feel, pressure and timing and all that?
definitely needed this ! I tend to throw the ball totally away from my target .. do you think that throwing my football against a piece of wood and trying to hit it every time will help while still using these tips ?
Yes but make sure your shoulders stay square to the target. You might be swinging your front shoulder around too much which can cause your arm to shoot wide
Thank you! I've seen so many QB accuracy, and distance videos. Nobody besides you have talked about where to aim the lead foot. Great observation with Brady's. I'm 49, had 3 back surgeries, and after years from being able to throw, I'm still accurate to 50, and deep ball 65+ (Al Bundy..but still love to throw) Montana, and Aikman had the best technique I've ever seen. Still I hate to admit it, but Brady really is the GOAT, of GOATs
@@lunarmooooon dude Coach Grant is amazing he's giving away so much info that made me from a new kid to a kid who knows the game and IQ and mechanics he does daily quality uploads be grateful
@@lunarmooooon your probably a 9 year old kid who saw this video on your recommendation didn't even decide to watch it and said it was a terrible video
