Blessed day to you. I am feeling incredible out of balance. I have been practicing qigong for about a month now and OH MY has it opened me up. My energy is shifting so quickly I cannot keep up. I have had a flood of feelings and memories flowing in and it is INTENSE, so intense that I am going into what they call “mania” in Western medicine. No traditional meds have ever worked for me as I also have a dissociative disorder. I hope so much that this practice will heal me over time. I am 42 and have been struggling for balance since around 5 that I can recall. I look forward to following with you.

Hi have a couple of questions.im currently seeing a psychiatrist for an anxiety disorder.i decided to to give qigong a go.i have only been doing it for about 3 days now and at first I thought I was onto something but today I felt like I was going to freak out. I have been doing a half hour video twice a day as its something positive to focus on. 8 have a history of panic attacks. Is it normal to feel a bit worse for a while while the body gets used to the exercises. I'm overweight and im aware my muscles are tense rigid and there us definatley a chi blockage. My feet go numb and I g3t pins and needles in them but I see this as a good thing in that they are waking
Hi Mark, Thank you for your practice and your questions. Qi Gong is a potent healing practice. It is not uncommon to experience the detoxing energetic effects you describe. This is a sign that you are moving some qi and creating a pathway for releasing toxic qi. My recommendation would be to be mindful of how you are feeling before, during, and after (as the pauses are intended). Drink plenty of water throughout the day (especially after). You may want to try shorter bouts (5-10 min) if you are feeling overwhelmed with the cleansing effects and gradually build up. Yes, pins and needles may also be common. I would encourage you to shift your weight more towards your heals and feel free to shake out your feet (or sit down) throughout the practice. Please LMK if you have more questions. Oh dear anxiety, how I know thee 😉 The way I see it now is that...When we know what we are working with, we can invite compassion to join us on our path. That is a skillful relationship with the energy of our emotions. Instead of getting frustrated or judging ourselves for repeating the same patterns, we can call ourselves and the energy forward. "Anxiety, I see you. I know you want to help me get things don. Let's see what we can do to have a more skillful relationship as we move forward." Ok - that was totally a conversation in my head. Hope you understand and can relate 🤣💜
@@KristenPolzien maybe you're right about introducing self compassion. Certainly no one else is being compassionate towards our needs. I think make things worse by almost hating myself for not being more in control... trying not to concentrate on the anxiety but its so difficult
