why does the arabian + split jump connection not get 0.2? i thought all f+b connections get 0.2

@@lucgalaif77 For Dance/mixed connections, only D + D gets 0.2 CV. Otherwise, D + B (mixed) and C + C (dance) is 0.1. F + B does get 0.2 if they're both acro though

Is there another gymnast that has this level of difficulty in a connection here its BHS into Arabian then split leap? Suni does the side aerial into 2 back layouts..how is that connection graded against this one?

@@denisewalsh6586 Zhou Yaqin (her teammate) has a 7.2 routine.

Unfortunately the code of points doesn’t reward artistry. The routines under the old 10.00 system though they lack the difficulty of the routines of today, they were beautiful to watch as there was also emphasis on the presentation of the routine. Nowadays it’s about making the routine as difficult as possible to get the highest possible SV and no emphasis on the presentation of the routine as a whole and the artistry suffers because of it. It’s really evident on floor where you can clearly see that there is no personality in the routine.

@@aussiesoccerchic I agree, but they are stepping up (a little) on their vocabulary. I watched their Olympic trials and girl just fell apart on bars. Again, they are beautiful to watch but there’s not much meat on the bone. One girl said that they don’t do certain skills because “their government will not reward that.” I found that a curious thing to say.

@@eddietucker7005 what a strange thing to say, but in some ways you’re right. Gymnasts now don’t perform a lot of the more difficult skills, because trying to connect these skills to others doesn’t contribute much to the overall SV and it means that it’s more beneficial to perform an easier skill and do that well than risk a fall with a harder skill.

this was not a practice routine, rather the routine at china’s olympic trials.

Simone has yet to score above 14.8 this year I believe. If both of china's top beam workers hit, she'll have to fight for bronze. I think gold on beam for her is kinda elusive.

@@alexi8741and with Chinas track record it’s probable they will faulter, while Simone may score less than them, she’s consistent at least while the Chinese not so much.

Maybe Zhou Yaqin, she also can reach +15

@@judahdean116 Simone won’t the only one competing in team finals. Qiu can’t compete her in AA or floor for sure, but China in a very good day for them hitting all of their routines can compete USA for team gold. They are the only ones that can have three 15.500+ routines on bars, they have two 7.0+ beam routines and another one 6.5+, and I don’t know what more they can bring on floor and rumour says they are also preparing better vaults. They can definitely compete for the gold if they are in a good day, remember that they also have a much better execution than the American girls

@@leykimayriyeah on a very very good day, China could really beat US if they falter but China hasn’t really hit under pressure but let’s just wait and see, i think previously they could never compete as the gap on floor and vault were too big but now it’s just about .5 on every floor routine and 1 point on vault as compared to previously almost 1+ point advantage for the US on floor and vault

@@bryanthan9363 More pressure than China had to win team gold in their homeland that they managed to do so in 2008? I doubt. So let’s not claim that China always fails under stress because they’re proved us wrong and we know that the day of the finals anything can happen in gymnastics. Not saying that China will win gold, I’m just saying that they have a very good chance of winning gold and I believe they have a better team at least as far as bars, beam and floor is concerned. The only thing that saves the US is Biles, otherwise US is way worse than other teams (always talking about team, not individuals and individual apparatus appearances).

@leykimayri we have simone (60+ AA) AND shilese, who medaled in the last two AA finals and Uneven bars final. PLUS the returning Olympic all around gold medalist Suni Lee who has very high beam and bars potential especially. China couldn't even beat the USA in 2022 WITHOUT Simone... and she is back and better than ever. Anyone else is a just cherry on top of that

Simone does point her toes. Problem is she doesn’t have high arched feet like a ballet dancer so it’s kinda limited.

@@MostHated33yes i think Simone’s feet form is fine. She doesn’t flex them even on the most difficult flipping moves.
