I get it, I really do. The quality of the drivers is soooo important when it comes to satisfying the bass-head community. Finding the perfect balance of quantity vs quality is a challenge in this price range but is achievable and your examples support that. The problem I think starts with HBB coming up with a graph not dissimilar to the FiR Audio Xenon 6 (a $3,899 iem) and expecting QKZ to build something not far off for $50 ….. good luck with that 🤣
I have alot of respect for Akros every iem he has recommended has exceeded my expectations. I'm happy to pay a little extra for better drivers HBB and QKZ can do better
How much would you say a portable dac improves the Juzears from just a phone? Don't have one yet and waiting on my set, looking at the Hiby W3 II for convenience.
Absolutely love the KBear Rosefinch. One of the best values for an enjoyable basshead iem set out there. I have a 7Hz Legato, a nicer built IEM for sure, but the Rosefinch has a better all-round balance and a better general fit. The Rosefinch can be enjoyed with a wide genre of music and works especially well outdoors. Pair it with KZ BT20XS for low-cost wireless bliss. I remember the car audio scene from the '90s. Now I just use a SubPac along with my headphones when I need to experience true subbass.
I loose a little more faith in collabs due to the hype train. Akros , your my go to. You actually talk about the mods etc. I also like to know if drivers are good or not. I was also boo'd for my love of the rosefinch on head fi. I haven't posted since
I can see this pains you, understanable. I heard another reviewer call them muffled. That was enough for me. I bought the Juzear clear after watching your review...money well spent! I have a couple of HBB's other IEMs and they are pretty good. This collab doesn't sit well with me, is it really all about tne money first? Not Good! Thank you Akros, I appreciate your honesty.
Excellent review especially with comparison to Juzear Clear. Akros: Sometimes iems give you a thin veil, the Hades is a thick, heavy rug👏😅👏... I was cryin 😂! Well said & concur, thought this would have been better all considered. Can't wait to see what you have to say about Meyer-audio SA6 (slivio SLT6?).
Respect for speaking your mind the same way HBB would It's unfortunate really since I do enjoy the set but completely understand the driver quality issue since my UP is my main bass set
I am glad you understood I simply spoke what I felt...and I know this could have been much better. Well if you have a UP you probably like really quality bass , but with quantity also part of the equation.

He hyped this so much, got us bassheads excited. Interesting that he said the RF is just on and yet he pumps this thing out. Wonder if he downplayed the RF in order to hype his IEMs. He doesn't have an official review nor is Rosefinch on his squig. Wonder if he downplayed/ignored the RF in order to hype his IEMs. I love my dirty bass clean of the mud thank you! Bassheads want quality and quantity. RF proves this can be done even Ultra budget. BTW which stock filter did you remove for the mod?
Was disappointed in this IEM as well. Muddy, bloated and so indistinct. I'm a basshead and looked forward to something cheap that would fill that niche from HBB but sadly this isn't it. Just glad its cheap and I don't feel ripped off. Not sure I can even gift this off to a non-audiophile!
That’s sad to hear, was looking at the graphs and was curious how this would actually translate. I have a friend who is quite the basshead and I was considering getting these for..... but this IEM just seems disappointing. TE zero red or CCA rhapsody it is....!
I love hearing about old school car audio. My last attempt was doing 145-146 db's daily driven. The difference is, I was able to turn a knob to turn down the subs and the rest of the system sounded beautiful. Basshead shouldn't mean bass-only.

because it's a muddy mess and tuned like from 20 years ago. The Rosefinch is much better but you already have the similar Juzear Clear. I'd rather save up for something better @jakubaugustyn9817

I know that this is sort of off subject, but I'm curious if you possibly could do an episode based on the things that you do to ensure you get the best sound possible from any IEM. Meaning can you actually show us how you apply the filters, how you measure your cables and what you're looking for as far as the measurements, how to properly use foam tips so that people don't squeeze the front shut before they enter them in their ear, what ear tips you pick for what results?, meaning wide boar for more treble, small for less. These kinds of things. I know it's asking a lot but it would really be extremely appreciated I'm sure. I know I would be very appreciative. And again, thank you so much for your hard work.. I truly enjoy watching your videos as well as a small handful of a couple of other people. Thank you so much Erik
HBB is the guy who said the tanchjim origin is 50-80 dollars IEM.... reciently i get it and the origin is the best single DD under 500 usd...to me much better than the simgot family that i got and will sale.. dont know what happened to him too...
HBB said the Origin was bad despite never having tried it only because he alleged that the Oxygen had stealth revisions (a claim I have yet to see any proof of). HBB is nothing more than a shill for his own collaborations now and a total clown of a reviewer.
I think he successfully became Zeos v2.0. He may have won the algorithm, but it’s hard to find useful discussions anymore on his channel, with the comments sections littered with hollow, ChatGPT-style commentaries from those hoping to win the jackpot.

I have worked in the car audio industry for over 25 years. I have never understood how any knowledge of car audio can help with the development and tuning of an IEM. Headaches with different cars, soundproofing, taking a mid driver out of phase and dealing with bass enclosures where the boot / trunk of a car is acting as a second enclosure presents a totally different set of problems to overcome to achieve a good sound 🙏👍
It's not about how to achieve good sound in a car or IEM but more about what constitutes a good, or in this case, a good bass focused sound signature. I totally understand what Akros wanted to say in his review, I too had a custom car audio setup in my old Corolla in the 90s. Meaning in a car you are much more able to dial in your sound signature, you almost do it naturally. Even my mum does it with her factory equiped radio.
I think you have misunderstood me. HBB has stated in a few of his videos that he has a lot of experience with Car Audio and Akros is saying that his experience in that field hasn't helped with his most recent collaboration? I am not sure what you mean about being able to dial in a sound signature in a car and do it naturally? I have built several trophy winning SQ cars. The hundreds of hours spent using a RTA machine, spectrum analyser, critical listening then making numerous adjustments to crossovers, EQ's, adjusting kickwell builds, tweeter positions and bass enclosures is nothing but easy. But my point is none of that experience is of any help when tuning an IEM?
I have no doubt you are a professional in this field. The experience in car audio can help to communicate such things to the manufacturer like "we need more energy at 80Hz and below" or "lower the energy around 200Hz because of reason x". In the end this Hades project shows that HBB has a much higher harmonic threshold in regard to bass SPL. Which I already experienced when he recommended the "Focus EDM" IEM a few years ago. I ordered the EDM and was like, holy hell this is way too much bass. The frequency graph of the EDM has many similarities with the Hades. @@warrensnook
@@warrensnook I understand what you are saying about one area not having a transfer onto the other .. car audio into IEM....but I disagree to an extent. Just like you I encountered countless problems when doing car audio Installs....os the car a hatchback....a wagon....a pick up....all have different approaches on how to get the best possible bass, then what enclosure to use ...sealed....ported....bandpass.... transmission line, again the relation between car/enclosure/driver is a headache. Properly done you can have like I did in my car , massive bass, bit clean and tight , where even those that did not like bass where I pressed by the quality. So all this gives you the necessary experience to understand that in a IEM , although the challenges are different, if you know what you want , you can work on reaching that objective. Hades wanted so bad to be a bass monster that it ended up being a mud fest. This is a super interesting topic and it's a pity we can't actually have a live talk and discuss things , writing at least for me takes away too much from the conveying the message properly.
@akros9333 Many thanks for your insightful reply and I agree it can sometimes be difficult to convey a true perspective in a few sentences. I don't think we are poles apart in our opinions and yes, having experience of car audio does give you a very good understanding of what good Bass is. And more importantly, how different renditions of Bass change how we hear the rest of the frequency range in a music track. My experience with IEM's which I will admit is very limited compared to yours has shown me that a great 'Bass Head' IEM is difficult to achieve on a budget and even the Fatfreq Scarlet that I owned for a while fell short because the upper frequencies not being able to keep up with the huge elevation in the low end. It appears that another attempt has been made to create the dream 'Bass Cannon' on a budget and completely missed the mark. I appreciate your channel and straight talking honest opinions. Your content certainly makes a welcome change to what some other reviewers are putting out. Cheers!
Thank you for the second opinion. It's still baffling that this thing costs 50$ - with really poor accessories and questionable very narrow listening focus, I would expect this to cost under 20$. Did they just added extra 30$ for collab and called it a day? 🤔
Great review. Akros always telling it how it is. Fair to the options out there in the market. I am a basshead, Scarlet Mini is a gem. I have zero interest in that guy's collabs, this one especially. Poor. Sad that he'd exploit his followers.

This is the most oblivious statement I think I've seen in a while. Not at all taking a stance or trying to be mean. It's just, like, _in the name_ you know? hahaha
Basshead IEMs are very hard to do well, there is a reason a lot of the well known sets are very expensive; You not only need a very powerful and capable bass driver with the right technicalities, but the highs have to have to the ability to peek above all that bass, and do it well, otherwise you just end up with mud and bloat. That's the problem with every budget basshead IEM I've heard: there is just no detail, you come away with the impression that clarity has been mushed into nothing by the bass. If you're a basshead on a budget, I recommend looking for quality over tuning. Look for an IEM with a very capable DD, either alone or in a hybrid, and EQ to your level or vent mod. You will be amazed the bass you can get from drivers that do not measure very bassy at all.

You have got to be the reviewer with the most vast experience across the board with IEMs. Seems like you’ve tried it all! Curious as to why we don’t see much of “top x earphones in the y-z dollar range” from you? Perhaps split into tuning preferences or something like that. I always think those are useful.

The Tansio Mirai X, with the right cable and tips is a bass phenomena......on 1.0.0....with the right cable. Best to find bass elsewhere in a better quality than the HB Hades. Badly named...symbolically Hades is not for earthly matters.
I hated mine, too much focus on lower midrange, closed sound, too analytical. It doesn't sound natural at all to me. I prefer a $50 CS dongle to it honestly. Gonna sell it soon
Not sure what mic you use for these videos but the S's come off really sharp. Might wanna run a de-esser filter over it because it makes it hard to listen to. I don't have this issue with other channels. Otherwise your content is great, but considering this is a channel dedicated to audio, the audio of the videos themselves should be good.
I was thinking about buying the hades, and this review helped me waiting and saving up for something with a better driver. One thing i would like to add is, that i wish you would turn down the volume of the music, have something without lyrics or none a all. To me personally at least it becomes very distracting very fast. (at some points in the video it's fine but in other it's to loud. it's not a constant)
Please less colabs. Especially HBB colabs. And no you don't need a certain frequency response to listen to certain music genre. Songs in all music genre have different levels of bass or frequency response. He's full of it imo
HBB did exactly what he said he was going to do with this set, it's not suppose to have controlled bass. It's excessive for the sake of being excessive and it's so fun to listen to. If I want quality I have my other sets.
@@akros9333 I also think we should all remember to keep the hobby fun and remember it's all about the music experience. This set offers something that is missing in the hobby. Could it have been done better with better quality drivers? Yes, but that also means it'll be priced too expensive for some to justify having it in their collection.

As my name is associated with said product being created, I don't want the product to be below par, so that means that I have the ability to choose drivers, shell, tune. I can do what I want as long as it's all properly discussed and negotiated. If I don't agree I can always back away,
Good car audio should be able to play a symphony orchestra flawlessly and then when a track that calls for bass it would shake the fillings out of your head. Ive heard a demo of the Hades from Dan's audio reviews and to me they sounded like a car stereo with a cheap amp and sub woofer speaker box added to a stock car system .The system I put in my big truck 20 years ago had 5 amps Rockford Fosgate class A and MTX with 9 speakers MB Quart, Kenwood excelon, Boston Acoustic and Rockford Fosgate giving an enormous amount of headroom and clarity.

Well I am sorry if in my attempt to be civil and respectful you got confused. I'll make it simple.....Hades is a pile of garbage and anyone that honestly thinks it's good hasn't heard a properly done bass head IEM. As I stated in the review if you want bass and boom , get a KZ ZVX....or DFI and EQ the crap out of it.....easy.....simple and cheap.....why spend 50usd on garbage.
I just now discovered this set and checked out his video after watching this. I'm not taking sides because I'm not that kind of person, however it's a bit unfair to place the blame of hype on him when all he did was press the point that this thing is intentionally bloated with bass. Just about all the hype for his collabs and general opinions come from the typical braindead followers that blow _anyone_ out of proportion. That aside, I'm not too surprised about your results because it seemed weird to split frequencies across otherwise identical drivers - small ones, at that. The Amazon description initially implies that the drivers were actually splitting the signal in a way that gets the sound through under-driving them, so it was weird hearing the exact opposite in your video haha
Thank you for you comment. Let me first say that my review has no intention to make people choose sides. Yes it's true that he did warn us all about what was the type of sound to expect ...no issues there. My issue lies in the fact that although the idea was good, the execution was not well done. I do not agree with the idea that the bass has got any true quality behind it.....it's a massive bloat and its all down , in my opinion to poor quality drivers plus an over zealous tuning of the lower frequencies. I have no doubt that with a little more energy in the upper registers the bass would have been even better. Anyway to each his own....and ultimately if the Hades ticks the right boxes for whomever likes it....great ...but I struggle to understand how this can be considered a good set. I know that HBB could have done a better job.....I have no doubt.....now why he didn't do it.... well only he knows.
It should be QKZ x Akros going forward. Whoever tuned this IEM has wasted a fine IEM with two 9mm drivers by his subpar tuning and also QKZ's brand image may take a hit now. This is not how you do a basshead IEM. So the unkown guys who tuned sets like KBEAR Rosefinch, VE BIE etc are all much better tuners than this guy who tuned Hades
Those cables actively harm the sound, its the same one as the x hbb and the Khan..just garbage, my Khans sound great on double ended with big power and a good cable, just open right up, all the bad stuff, just gone...on the stock cable, well..if they still sounded that way on a good cable, I would have given them away to the children next door. I dont know why they unclude such a junk cable with their products.
Dear friend what I have always said, is that cables can under some conditions bring about an improvement of the earphone / cable relationship, which means if electrically the cable has specific values os DCR... Inductance and Capacitance, those values together with the same values presented by the IEM can translate to minor/ slight improvement of the iem performance aka sound. Having said that I dont agree with spending ridiculous amounts of cash in cables .....it's not a 1000usd cable that will make a poorly tuned IEM magically start sounding like an amazing one!
Cables/eartips, dongles all very much change the sound depending on which ones you are using. It is good that Akros lost you as you are not needed. Your knowledge on simple things in the IEM world seems to be below average. Nothing against you but just saying based on your comment @traktorpro10
