This is part 1 of a three part tutorial that explains how to use the "Web Interface" feature of QLC+ lighting software. Using the web interface, you can display and access the "virtual console" and "simple desk" screens of QLC+ remotely using your smartphone or tablet web browser without having to use 3rd party software. In this tutorial (Part 1) I give a basic overview of the web interface and how to make it work. In Part 2 I show how to use the "DMX Keypad" which turns your smartphone into a remote focus tool for your lighting rig. In Part 3 I show how to design a custom desktop in QLC+ that will perfectly fit the resolution of your smartphone or tablet.
QLC+ is an excellent open source lighting control program that works with Windows PCs, Macs and Linux. In this video tutorial I am using the Windows PC version 4.12.7. You can find more information about the program here: www.qlcplus.org/
Please consider donating to the creators as a program like this would cost several hundred dollars if it were not open source.
I also maintain a website for community theater techs where I provide some information and resources for controlling lighting, audio and using show control in theater productions. My website can be found here:

Edward, I love your videos but cannot seem to get the web browser to work. I have followed your directions to create the shortcut and both my windows PC and Samsung tablet are on the same network but when I put my IPaddress:9999 it won't connect.. When I open QLC+ using this shortcut is there anything to show that the web interface is running? Thanks again for all your videos, I have watched them many times.

I should add that I got it working on the laptop that is running QLC+ by opening Chrome and typing localhost:9999 but still can't get it to work on my android phone or tablet.so assume it must be a network setting.

@@proscenium6517 Hello 1.Make sure that the phone/tablet that you are using is on the same network as the computer running QLC+. Check your phone/tablet Wi-Fi settings. 2.Make sure you have the correct IP address of the computer that is running QLC+. Check your computers network setting to see what the address is. 3.Enter that IP address in your phone/tablet browser as follows: (IP Address of the computer running QLC+):9999 In my case it looks like this: 10.0.0.30:9999 You do need to enter the part of the url Hope this helps Ed Richards

@@edwardrichards7722 Hey Professor QLC+ (Seriously, Thank You for these incredible tutorials). I'm running into the same issue. I was thinking it had to do with mine being an Android (apple tends to be what a lot of the fancy apps program for). I made sure my VPN was off, using the right URL header and adding the ".9999" I'm using google chrome on my phone. I'm thinking there must be something on my phone blocking the search for it. Google just comes back "Your search did not match any documents". It would be great to figure out (maybe for smaller gigs) but not a crucial feature I need.
