So glad you guys have had that much success with the Penguin and the new variants should continue the huge run of success. I am hoping for a slip joint as soon as I can snag one.
My favorite knife above all else is the regular QSP Penguin, with micarta scales. BUT... what would make it even better is simply making it with a flipper tab and not slapping a premium price tag on it. Keep up the great work, i own 4 penguins and 1 mini Penguin and always recommend it to everyone for a good solid, value for money edc. 🙂👍
Hi David, I received my QSP Penguin button lock, and I love it!! I am A Civivi button lock fan, and I hoped that they would marry their button lock Elementum and their Wharnecliff Elementum, but they have not. Both my Altus and Cogent had very bad lock stick. My Penguin has none. I've never had a folder with both thumbstuds and a flipper, so it took me a few minutes to learn how to hold the Penguin, when using the thumbstud, so that I didn't stop the deployment, by blocking the flipper. My only concern is that a bit of relief chamfer, in the scales, adjacent to the thumbstubs, would be nice (similar to the Altus....not the choil, simply a chamfer). Or, slightly longer thumbstuds. If you can get An Altus in your hands (while no one is looking😉), you'll see what I mean. You now have me as a QSP fan!! Bryan from Nova Scotia Edit: It seems that the access to the thumb stud is just fine. The spring for the button lock was very strong, and now that it has broken in, the function is perfect!!
can't wait for the QSP penguin button lock, I like that it has thumb stud, flipper, and button lock. Hope they make it in a Mini version folks get nervous in my area about pocket knives so I prefer a blade length under 3".
I think I’ll get the slip joint one first.. the og Penguin still the sharpest knife I’ve received from factory. Hair splitting and kept that edge for like a year lol. $35 very well spent.
I will be able to when it comes back in as we currently don't have the penguin button lock. The Swordfish is a larger knife. Thanks for the suggestion.
Is there any update about the regular size button lock?Loved the flipper tab option but that was available only on the Penguin Plus till now. Will be there a chance to get the button lock with S35VN blade?
They are finishing up so should be available soon, check in with your local dealer, and we will have the direct opiton soon but PayPal is being difficult currently.
Hello, David. Was the Ti 154CM model's hardware updated at some point? It appears that while my QS130-Q has a D-shaped pivot and round standoffs (and corresponding holes in the handles), some hardware like Kaviso's has a round pivot and D-shaped standoffs. Thank you!
@@qspknife Update, please. A button lock Penguin, in 14C28N, with both a flipper and thumb studs, is a must have. How about a 3.25" blade length, including a larger choil......maybe even a finger choil"? Thanks, Bryan from Nova Scotia
It's a matter of preference as the Walk and Talk is what is our newest slip joint standards. We offer a premium Penguin Slip joint and there are some dealer exclusive models.
@@qspknife I was looking at the jigged ti hedgehog in m390 at traditional pocket knives. Any that I get I prefer Titanium or carbon fiber with premium steel like m390 20cv or s90v
